I certainly have no issues with customer service, they’ve helped my out no problem but in regards to my purchase being an Asus laptop which I got July 2025 whilst it was new it’s also a 2023 model and can’t perform the tasks I need done. So in short I was given a laptop that was potentially 2 yrs old before I applied for it. Just be aware of this problem as I wasn’t!

I have never encountered a company with such a disorganized and inconsiderate process. This experience has been a complete waste of time. Their poor communication and lack of transparency left me without the phone I was expecting, and I missed the opportunity to purchase one elsewhere using the funds on something else

It’s unacceptable for a company to treat customers this way So thank you 1st choice rental for a waste of time

Cannot fault 1st choice , on to my 4th item rented from them , fast and easy communication , the best customer service ! Always communicated through sms with real people which is great for us anxious people , had to change repayment dates a few times which they’ve accommodated every time without late payment fees which I offered to pay every time , would definitely recommend. Show reply

Dodgy, rude and a waste of time – Disgusting customer service, crappy online application forms, and definitely a waste of time. Go somewhere else. Actually, I'd recommend others to go to rent4keeps and rent4style. Don't waste your time and money on this family run business who don't care for you.

Toowoomba Branch is brilliant – I’ve dealt with 1st choice rentals for years in Toowoomba, even before they were 1st choice and their company has always been fantastic. Lovely people and service. Helped me with financial hardship a couple of years ago when I had a rough spot. Always a pleasure dealing with them.

impossible because the games are less then 6 months old and we haven’t been able to play them because our ps4 has pretty much not worked since a week after getting the games! There customer service is crap and they never contact you.

Worst place – Please people dont rent off these people find someone else if I could give zero stars I would or less there not cheap they dont care about you its all money to them they wont put you first I get behind with payments so if someone I know trys to apply they wont approve them I wish I saw these reviews before I went with them. Another not very happy customer here.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY – Nowhere on there site do they mention what to do if you come under financial hardahip. The u dont put you first. They are garneshing my wages & im a single mother. I never knew until the garneeshing started. They claimed they couldnt find me. They claim that they havent received alot of the garneshed amounts even though i have my payslip to prove this. Very dodge very shifty their motto WE PUT YOU FIRST is nothing but a lie

Love ! – Pretty happy with my purchases from first choice, always understanding and willing to work things out ! Changing details with them was easy and so far only had one problem with a product that was covered on warranty :)

Bad bad bad – I was in hospital for surgery and feel behind on payments as I was casual so no sick leave and when I got out I rang them to work it all out I offered them $150 a fortnightly and explained I would not be going back to work for 6 weeks I could provide medical certificates They said no not good enough excuse And they took me to court .......

Worse customer service i have ever had to deal with – I put an application through and waited almost a month no one ever got back to me about what was going on always having to chase them up for an answer this is the worst customer service i have ever had to deal with. If you're looking to rent something look else where as these people have no care at all for there customers.

DESERVES 0 STARS. One of the worst in Australia – I signed up with 1st choice mid 2017. From the very beginning I had nothing but trouble with them and their unprofessional and rude staff. unwillingness to even help in this situation forced me to contact Fair Trading. It was only then that I had this issue resolved and instead of getting a new phone I requested that they end the contract. Therefore I was left with a TV that had numerous issues as well. I later found out that 1st choice rentals, use a supplier dealing in faulty refurbished goods. Unlike their website stating that their goods are new, they are in fact actually still faulty and not worth the money forked out over their rental payments. Numerous times I have contacted them and requested a call back and received nothing. When you are abrupt with them they abuse you and threaten you. Never before have I experienced customer service so unprofessional and ridiculously rude in my life. Unfortunately as I suffer from a illness I left the TV with a mate undergoing treatment and unfortunately it was stolen. As this was located in a different state I wasn't informed in time and could not place a police report. I am now being constantly harassed and threatened even though I have advised them of this situation to the point where they are now threatening me beyond legal action. I would be happy to continue paying for a TV I don't own however the service and rudeness have swayed me not to have any further contact with this company. Personally I don't care if they placed something on my credit file as I have had a gutful of being spoken to like a piece of crap. They refuse to listen they refuse to acknowledge somebody's health conditions and show sympathy in this regard and instead continue to threaten and harass beyond anything I've ever seen. this company needs to seriously be investigated as I believe they are in breach of numerous clauses. Anybody thinking of using this company to hire goods, I strongly suggest you find another company.

Customer regard is limited to none – Was originally with another company before they closed down and these guys miraculously obtained my contract and continued to pull payments out of my account. I was told that during the contract take over from the previous company that many other contracts were lost in the process I get my managed to get through.

within 2 working days. This company has quite a poor business model. The staff who came to my house where amazing however they really are just paid to deliver and pick up. The ordering system is by far the slowest in the rental business. To add to insult, i asked how much it would be for them to relocate ONE 65" TV that i unpacked and wall mounted my self (there for its not a 2 man job to move) and i was quoted $165 to move this TV a 12 minute drive. Now i find it worth while to mention that if i had of boxed up and packed up my house my self i could get a 2 guys and a truck to move my whole house for me, for the same price! Honestly Direct appliance rentals have the best business model. No upfront payment, free delivery and delivery is within 2 days if the item is in stock. Also as they buy there items from appliances online whom work our delivery and you have a large choice. they are completely transparent and they will email you a clear statement you want at any time. My first lot f statements i got from here are unclear and don't help you to understand how much you have left and how long you have to go, it just tells you that you have paid "x" amount on "x" day I chose a washing machine and dryer i wanted. they also gave me an invoice so i can make warranty claims direct with the manufacture my self and not have to deal with 3 people for one warranty claim. I would have given 1 star but the delivery guys where amazing so that's the only reason they got 2 stars!
