3M CLAW
2 reviews
Best option I've used, but expensive & has issues to be aware of – I had quite a heavy item to hang that required some precision in placement, and this handled the requirements nicely. But there was an issue with the marking system that caused a bit of a hiccup. The problem I had with the marking system is that when I came to remove the protective liner from the white side (the side that adheres to the wall), it was very difficult to remove. I ended up destroying the first one when the adhesive layer came off with the liner. Fortunately it was a pack of 4 claws and I only needed 2, so I had another one to use, but I came close to ruining it also.
The other issue I had, and this was really just bad luck, was when I went to push the claws into the wall, the claw just happened to be on top of a drywall screw, so wouldn't push in. Easily fixed, put before you commit to the location, it's worth checking that there aren't any screws or nails in the vicinity. But that advice will apply to any hanger that pierces the drywall.
Pros: - strong (can safely handle heavier items) - creates very small, easily patched holes - placement can be very precise
Cons: - expensive - adhesive placement markers have issues
Purchased in at Mitre 10.
Expensive but easy – Having tried the 3M adhesive strips, in a couple of cases they just did not last, in this case above a heater. So i paid $7 AUD for one of these clips and was very fast and easy to hang a larger item. Good: -Comes with small marking option to get it hung right, holds fine -Appears to be strong -Leave tiny holes -Good instructions Bad: -Price, and the end of the day, your paying for a small piece of metal, wont be long before cheaper brands produce. Compared to cheaper hooks, this will be hard for some to justify. -Pushing into the wall can be hard in some cases, might need a hammer, though pack says no tools
