When my meter behaved like that I first changed the battery to make sure that wasn't the issue, it wasn't, then called Abbott and got a free replacement. [Edit: just noticed, product has been dis-cont. Grrr...] One other thing to try, make sure you've pushed a new/clean test strip in far enough, wait for the blood drop to appear and flash on screen then offer blood up. (Love this meter BTW, been using this model for years...)

What does the meaning of E 6 in glucometer optimum exceed?
I have been using Optium Xceed now for at least 12-15 years, I have only replaced it on 1 occasion from memory. I think during this time I have experienced E6 and I am only guessing now, but I think the error E6 was 1 occasion that I did not have enough blood on the test strip prior to getting the reading.
I purchased Optimum xceed neo 100 new strip there was a lot strip white in colour I inserted it first it show error E-7 the I inserted testing strip now not able to test since it is not showing drops how to recover from this situation?

Hello. I have always used my Optium Xceed with the Freestyle Optium strips. Now the box of strips says No Coding Required but my Optium Xceed keeps showing me the E-6 error. What could be going on?

I have never experienced my optimum xceed not working, other than replacement of batteries. I use it 4 times daily for the past 20 years, at least.

Andrew, I do not know the answer if Abbott do not have a replacement....I am not sure if they are still available, mine is still working very well and I have never had to know this answer. I use mine 45 times per day 7 days per week and keep records of all readings, 4 per day on a chart designed by myself...listing reading, insulin dosage and time and any remarks. Sorry I cannot assist.

It is so easy to replace battery, you will see a triangle in the top half on the back of the meter, just push upwards with your thumb and the battery will appear. Replace with 3V CR2032 Energizer.
I've the optium xceed meter for 8yrs and I've not been using it for the past 2yrs. Can I use it now with freestyle optium glucose test strips (no coding required)?
I am using my Optium Xceed Meter 4 times per day/7 days per week using FreeStyle Bllod Glucose Test Strips, none have failed and they are marked (no coding required) I have been using my meter far in excess of 8 years, however I am not sure how long I have been using the freestyle strips, but I would say for as long as they were replaced last and NONE HAVE FAILED.

I have two meters. The Optium exceed and the Freedom lifestyle lite. When I test on the same big drop of blood I always get a higher result with the Optium.Optium ,result is 25% higher.When I compare results from offocial laboratory tests then it shows agreement with the Optium, which is the older technology meter. Why the big difference in results for the same blood sample when tested at the same time?
Have you checked both monitors with control solution to ensure they are accurate?

Yes I did the required calibration with the standard test solutions and both meters gave results within the allowed limits.I can only think that there is something in my blood that influences the result given by the freestyle lite meter.For example Pradaxa, which is an anti coagulant. ie that the sticks used for the different meters do not use the same current generating reaction pathways.
How and where can I buy Ketone Strips? Is there a discount for Ketone strips available to diabetics?
Ketone strips can be hard to find, they are on Diabetes Qld webstore (and probably in other states) and most ndss chemists should at least agree to order them. I rarely find them in stock. They're not ndss, so no discounts.
