Started out great – We have had our acer aspire for about 14 months. It was great for a few weeks, then we noticed a clicking, that comes and goes. Rung up about it and told that it needed to be fixed. The clicking was never fixed, they never heard what we where on about. It now still clicks and has started to freeze randomly and has also started to slow down. We have deleted everything off of he hard drive (both) that was no longer needed, but this has not helped the slowing at all. We are now looking at replacing the family computer, but will not be going with acer again, as we have also had issues with our sons acer laptop.

The worst computer and experience ever – We purchased an Acer Aspire Z3-715 all in one computer from Harvey Norman Frankston in March 2017 to replace my wife's old PC. She was initially excited as the new computer was a lot quicker and was convenient being an all in one. That excitement was short lived however, as within the first week the computer would randomly go to black screen and not come out meaning a forced restart. This would happen pretty much every time the computer was used. We persisted with it over the next several months and tried various fixes including re setting to factory settings meaning having to get our computer guy to back up and restore the computer at the cost of $165 each time.

In December of 2017 well before the warranty expired in March 2018 we had various online correspondence with Acer support but nothing fixed the issue. They refused to exchange the unit for a new one even though everything they suggested had been tried.

Eventually they organized for a technician to come to our house and he updated all display drivers, bios etc but again that did not fix anything and had been tried before anyway. We then sent the computer back to Acer who said it had been fixed and shipped it back to us. Guess what? Not fixed! Both my wife and I were incredibly stressed by the ongoing issues as she tried to use the computer for her small business but was badly hindered by the issues.

Acer then organized for the technician to come back and replace the motherboard and Hard Drive. Again, a day later back to the black screen scenario right in the middle of my wife working on something.

It was at that point that Acer relented and authorized a store credit to the value of the computer meaning we could go and get another computer. Again we had to get our computer guy to back up and then restore everything onto my wife's new computer.

Surprisingly we did not get another Acer computer but an HP Pavillion all in one which has been great.

The whole process of trying to get the Acer fixed spanned almost 15 months and if Acer had given us a new computer earlier would have saved itself a lot of money and us all the angst of dealing with this.

Our Computer guy said Acer are normally pretty good but we got the biggest lemon ever! Also dealing with overseas call centers talking to support staff who's English can be impossible to understand does not minimize the stress.
