Aspire Z5710 – I am so surprised at the negative reviews here. I have had my Acer Aspire for 7 years and it hasn't missed a beat. I am currently looking for another Acer all in one.

Garbage – Yep, I purchased one of these frustrating "THINGS" and had exactly the same problem with the Black Screen along with "NO SOUND" at all and couldn't fix it either. The "THING" went back to Acer twice under extended warranty and they apparently replaced RAM and Video. Two weeks out of warranty it went again, nothing to lose I cleaned it out with… Read more

electrical contact cleaner and it worked for about 6 weeks, then went again and again for about 6 months after having to repeat the clean out each time it happened. It's finally died, I think!! I also can't see why a company like Acer would keep producing the same problem as is obviously the case, they need the electric chair or public stoning.

Absolutely awful – I bought this computer all in one because of the large screen, graphics for photos and videos, as I was movig to Cyprus abd thought it would last a few years. I could not be so wrong, after 15 months and not so much use not everyday and only for a few hours at most the screen went black, since then it has been back and forth to the same mender who… Read more

cannot fix it, had cost me a fortune in money as I am unable to work and have had to download everything on an external hard drive. The computer shop had tried everything windows on off and new drivers nothing works and sometimes did come on for 5 minutes and other times not at all and now not at all. Have looked at reviews and apparently a big problem with Acer computers and laptops. Would never ever buy one again, I cannot believe they have put this on the market and that they could build a computer or laptop with the same problems-so many and it was not cheap too.. Oh well there loss onto better things and a peaceful life. If you are considering buying an Acer look at the reviews as they will not take responsibility as to it being there problem and will not fix it! Don't waste your precious time and oh, your money!

Don't bother getting one – I bought this machine a couple of years ago. I initially loved the machine. It had everything I was looking for but most importantly a large screen for photo review/editing and multi-tasking and it took up minimal space on my desk so I could also do paperwork. After I had it less than a year, I had to send it away for warranty repairs because it… Read more

did not seem to boot. I couldn't get the screen to display anything at all - just black. Repeated restarts didn't help. Eventually I took it in under warranty and they told me the HDD had failed and required replacing. Now I am having the same issue again - the screen will not display anything. It happens every single time that Windows applies an update to the OS. The driver for my screen is up to date so that is not the issue. The only way I can get the screen to work is by uninstalling the update to Windows to before the screen stopped working. I don't consider this to be a workable solution. Currently I have a secondary screen (much smaller) plugged into it so that I can use it as a desktop. The speakers have also become crackly and make a terrible racket at times so I have to mute them or the buzzing drives me nuts. Effectively my All In One has become a tower. What a waste of money.

I would have been much better off getting a large wide screen monitor and custom building a tower. After doing some pricing, it seems this is a cheaper alternative than replacing the All in One. I'll never get another one, regardless of how little room it takes up on my desk!

Nightmare – The touch screen was unresponsive. The bluray disk died very early. The audio inputs never worked and I bought a sound-blaster to do recording. The media software was slow and often froze. Like someone else, I tried to load the recovery discs but nothing booted. The Z5710 would not allow me to boot off an external dvd drive or a USB thumb drive.… Read more

Aarggh!

Video editing was a nightmare as the Z5710 constantly froze. Sonar 6 could not find audio components. Dragon dictation would not install user profiles. I switched to my ASUS I5 laptop and it did all these things without missing a beat.

AS for the Z5710, it died 3 days ago. What a nightmare.

Anyone who is contemplating ACER, be warned. 16 GB memory and CPU Expensive, clumsy software and peripherals do not work

Acer Aspire Z5710 – My all in one Acer Z5710 is just over 1 year old. My memory failed, my hard drive crashed. I tried to load my recovery disc. (4 disc) disc two did not work and Acer did not want to deal with it. They said take it to a computer shop. I will never buy Acer Again. Size of screen. PC did not come with any disk or recovery USB / Disc or driver. Acer web sit does not have all the driver. Lack of support for after warrenty sale.

Reliability – Try getting support for the blueray drive even with an extended warrantee. Stopped working after 6 months. Acer won't give you the time of day. Try getting Acer to come out and check any (real) problem you experience. Paid a PC expert to check and confirm the drive had failed. Will never buy or recommend and Acer. One year old and I'll be glad to replace it. Lack of support and assistance

Love my Acer Aspire – I went looking for a computer and bought an Acer Aspire Z series touch screen all in one. I went from a very old and slow to computer to this one and found it a hugr improvement. I found that the huge screen size of 23' was definetely worthy of all the features that comes with the Acer Aspire. Ive had the computer for approx 3 months and have… Read more

found that no matter how many programs I run on it that it has not lost speed at all. The flaw I do have with it tho is that the speakers have stopped working twice and I have had to send it away twice to be fixed (under warranty). However, the process of sending the computer away has been second to none. Door to door drop off and pick up without me having to worry about anything. Being an all in one computer it does mean that when I did need to send it away I need to package it up carefully, so I would recommend that if you purchase an all in one computer that you do need to keep the packaging. Convienant

Loved it at first but its still good to have – OK. I remember when I first bought this computer around 2 years ago, it would not turn on properly. It was on the startup black acer screen and I thought that was normal and part of the configuration process. I left it alone for a few hours but then got mad at it for being so slow! Then I realized that you have to do Ctrl+Alt+Delete when its on… Read more

that screen-page. So lesson learnt, press ctrl+alt+delete EVERYTIME you turn this computer on! A bit bothersome, no? I'm not sure if its just me doing it wrong. :S

Other than that, I bought it for the sleek, modern design, convenience because it is an all-in-one and saves space (without the bulky box thing that normal computers have) and for the touchscreen capability. Back then in 2010 when the touchscreen trend was making its way in, I admit, it was pretty cool to have a touchscreen computer! Fun to play around with at first yet not convenient enough for typing and browsing. Although the design great and the monitor fairly big at 23 inches, it often gathers dust in areas where they concave in. The hard drive is good, mine is 1TB but they have 2TB as well.

Another experience I have had with this computer is that it often blacks out when you leave it alone for 30minutes or longer. You click when you get back from your break and it DOES NOT go back to the logon screen or your activity on the computer. So you have to manually turn it off and then turn it back on (it will go back to the black screen mentioning how it wasn't properly turned off, blah blah blah. But you can't do much hey??!) Big screen, touchscreen, saves space, good hard drive, Be patient with this one, manually turn it on and manually off as mentioned in review, a tad expensive

Bigger and faster than I need so it should last for a while, love the bells and whistles – Got my last computer (laptop) in 2007 and replaced it with this Acer Desktop a few months back so I have had a bit of time to get used to it. I was looking for a computer to edit artwork the hi res 23" makes that a dream. I also wanted to do the day to day word documents etc and I always have a number of programs running at once, it does that… Read more

effortlessly.

Having a 2T hard drive is fantastic space wont be an issue for quite some time. Love that it has a TV tuner and the large screen makes it worth while watching. I havent used the TV remote yet because I generally use it sitting close enough to use the mouse or touch screen function.

Windows 7 works well with the multi touch screen having the quick start icons across the bottom is quick because the i7 cpu is very responsive.

In some circumstances the screen maybe too sensitive. An ant crawled onto the screen one night and as it walked across the screen, it changed the programs I had going! Had to laugh about that one.

I like that you can use a mix of mouse and keyboard for audio it has volume control and play/back/forward controls built into the wireless keyboard (and mouse) so playing audio is easy when you don't want to stop what you are doing and bring the music player up on the screen, i use that function a lot. The sound from the speakers is pretty good too.

I use it every day and have had it since about sept 10, batteries in both keyboard and mouse are still going strong. I dont think its crashed once! Fast response, great screen resolution, can multi-task big programs well I wish it had blu-ray instead of optical dvd drive. the mouse can lag sometimes too
