waste of money – I bought 2 Panels in March 21 by March 22 the clear coating on the panels had begun to peel off now Feb 23 90% of the coating has now gone and they are turning cloudy. Power output has dropped considerably only a trickle of power in full sun middle in the day in January? out of 2x 160watt panels. these panels sound like value for money but they are the most expensive on the market when you consider their life span. 18 months on - solar panels, don't bother - simply disappointing – 160W semi-flexible solar panel from Kings. At first they looked good and worked well, now 18 months on, they are a about 1/3 of the claimed output and are continuing to deteriorate. (suplier stated 8.75, now only 3A in full sun). The top film has started to peel off, and looks terrible. I should have looked that 4wdsupercente, only offer 1 year… Read more
warranty, where many others offer 10year at 80% efficiency.
I mounded the panels as per instructions and added sufficient gap to the roof to allow for airflow. So it's not so much the cost of the units, it's the work involved in mounting them and removing them which is wasted.
My strong suggesting when buying panels is to look for ones that have a longer warranty, especially if you are mounting them to your RV, motorhome or campervan.

A waste of money – I purchased two 160w panels from Kings in Malaga WA. I joined them together, length ways, with zip ties through their eyelets BUT a little bit of wind (sea breeze) and the panels lifted pulling two eyelets out of one of the panels - note that the plastic zip ties didnt break. Both panels then flapped and now no longer work. I got less than 10… Read more
hours use from them. The eyelets are only 5mm from the edge with plenty of room to place them further in. Complete waste of money.

Don't do it -- they will let you down when you need them the most – Purchased (2) units 240w plpus 160 w Nov 21 for use on remote island about 90 offshore from Gladstone. Tested before hand and paired with 140AH battery. the 240 watt unit never output more than 120 watts ----- so I doubled down and bought another Kings unit --- rated to 160W. Well they both let me down. Battery slowly fought a losing battle and… Read more
fridge ran out of juice after 4 days. Combined panels never put out more that 160 watts peak and dropped to circa 75 watts in the heat (their solar panels!). Fast forward to Jan 22 ---- ran heavier 10M cables etc --- and yet another trip offshore to island. Panels individually never put out more than 70 watts and together more than 120 watts. Power would drop to circa 50 watts in the heat! When you go off grid like this it is for days at a time into remote difficult places. Ice, dry ice just wont cut it. It takes a lot to get there, planning, travel etc and for many you only get the chance but once per year.
I have lugged over 30 kg of these useless paper weights (twice!) and depended on them to power fridge. These are junk. I would not even take the gift of them. The money you think you save is nothing compared to the cost, effort and wasted food and time when they let you down. NEVER AGAIN. PS --- Kings customer service, spare me the lip service. I don't want new ones - but do regret purchasing those and throwing good money after bad with the second purchase. THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN.

Good panel and service was above expectations – I'll preface this to say that after 9 months, my panel failed. I wasn't sure why, there were some minor cosmetic marks, but it seemed to be physically undamaged. I removed the panel from my vehicle, sat it beside my car, then accidentally rolled my trailer jockey wheel over it in the dark. This resulted in a very noticeable mark on the panel, so I… Read more · 1
figured warranty was shot. I went to store, looked at the panels on display and was advised there was a new model available. The connectors and coating looked like they'd been upgraded, which was a bonus, so I proceeded to advise the young gentleman why I was replacing the panel. I had zero expectations of warranty (due to the fact I had put the big mark on the panel, albeit after removal and couldn't prove it) and had the old panel in my vehicle, as I was dumping it in my industrial bin at work. Moments later, I left the store with the new panel under warranty. This panel is working at least as well as the old model, so I'm a happy chap. The product worked perfectly until it failed, which can happen to even the best units, then great service backed it up. What else can you say?
Started off well but failed for no reason – I bought 2x 160w semi flexible solar panels from the store, was all working fine for 8 months then when to check my batterys before a trip and found they were down to half. Checked and tested panels to find 16v at dusk and dawn but with no amps being made but during direct sunlight the panels would drop to 0V. Kings asked for photos and how… Read more
they're installed which I provided and they requested I return to store so they could test. 2 days after returning to store I drop in to see how it is going and was told it's been sent off for review. I call the head office the next day and get told it hasn't been tested as the plugs on the end had been changed to a Anderson plug style and refused to test the panels with a multi meter and Warranty is voided.
The plug does not affect the panels in any way as they have had this plug on them for over 8 months working completely fine.
Now I'm left for a trip with no panels and still no fix. Very unhappy with the customer service and response from the company as it's possible to test the panels with a multimeter which the store originally told me they would be doing and then wasted my time saying it's under review instead of telling me the panels haven't even been tested.
I was happy with the panels and believe it's just a fault and would be happy giving them a 2md chance but I refuse to pay for more when they don't cover warrantys or even attempt to test for warranty.
