Not happy – I've had 2 of the 3 speed impact wrenches fail at 1 year old motors snuffed it ,5inch grinder is good ,drill is good, big torch is awesome, not going to buy a nother impact wrench, will look at a different brand .
Great product while it was working – I was really impressed with this tool until it broke, just out of warranty. Pricing on replacement parts (motor assembly was $349 for a tool that cost $350) with labour was more than the purchase on a new tool. Service was poor, I was actively discouraged from seeking repair. Then told to have a look at new tools instead, very dissatisfied given the tool was just over three years old at the time.
I am now worried that my tool collection could well be a ticking time bomb of unrepairable (economically) waste, it feels like a sunk investment. I am seriously considering abandoning the tools that I really enjoy after this experience.
Parts access and service are a real problem with AEG tools. Right to repair appears to be an issue here.
Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse for $350.
Get rid of your pneumatic wrench – Recently used to remove leaf springs on my dual cab 4wd ute, I normally would try to use my 1/2 air impact but it would never get the bolts to budge on the front leaf spring mount I would have to physically remove with long breaker bars , I am getting to old for that stuff. I was not sure how this AEG battery impact would go but it ripped the first nut off very easily, I even changed the setting to the middle for the other side and it still easily removed. This tool made very light work of the job I had to do. This kit is hard to find, was a promotional kit from what I was told at Bunnings.
