Aeros Showers 12000 Series

Absent minded – When first speaking on the phone with this company, I spoke to a man about the product and what it comes with. This man absolutely said the shower screens come with 1350 tails/braided hoses to connect to the water supply. He must have said this to make a sale. Because when we received the product and the 1350 hoses were not present. When calling… Read more
to advise they were not there, this very same guy, because I asked, “is there anyone else who answers the phone with the same accent”, he said “no, it would have been me that answered the phone”. So I continued to explain the hoses (or tails, as he called them originally), were not there, he denied every single word or any acknowledgement of any such thing pertaining to these hoses and was doing his best to ridicule the thought or possibility of there being such a thing by him saying “I don't even know what tails are”. So be warned, record the conversation. And btw, the screens sizes are not what they say, yes the bases are the sizes advertised. However the screens sit inside the bases about 3cm all the way around, so over all you loose approximately 6cm from either end. The product is reasonable, hence the 2 stars. However, I wouldn't buy another.
This item was everything it claimed to be – After years of leaking and flooding in a conventionally plumbed and tiled shower in an en-suite bathroom, I looked for alternatives. Reports that these units were used extensively in Japan and Canada sold me on this product. It could be that another seller might sell a similar product for a lesser price, but without the help and guidance given… Read more
by Aeros Showers and Bathrooms in East Brunswick VIC, I think it would be false economy to go it alone, and the warranty period would be 12 months rather than five years. An experienced handyman arrived at 8.30 and was having a cuppa and on his way at 3.00pm. He had done a lot of research beforehand, and had unpacked it and spread it out on the garage floor. He had a couple of minor difficulties, but sorted them out as he went. I reckon that he could do future setups very simply. The unit (11000) is neat and smart looking and serves the purpose very well. With supply and installation you could expect change from $3000, versus probably $12000 or more to have the place stripped and re-done. The vanity unit and lavatory bowl were not touched, nor the floor tiling. Overall, we're more than pleased with the unit. I agree that more complex fitting instructions would be an advantage.
Great shower at reasonable price – This shower was the perfect solution for little ones where we didn't have room for a full size separate bath. The only improvement would be better install instructions as the showers maybe be better suited to tradie install, however not overly tricky to do yourself and you can ring Aeros for help.
Spare parts – Under no circumstances try to buy spare parts from this crowd. Their catalogue contains parts that they do not have. I ordered parts from them and instead of them advising me that they did not have them, they sent me some other parts which I did not order. $80.00 lost. Contacted them and they were of no use whatsoever. I will never deal with this mob again and advise anyone to go somewhere else.
Consumer Rules Ignored – Forget "customer satisfaction". My product arrived completely shattered and broken, they ignored the problem. Phone calls weren't answered and emails ignored. Things got so bad we had to go to VCAT to try and get our money back. They don't seem to understand consumer rights. We won, and now they won't pay even on a VCAT Order! Now got to go to… Read more
Magistate, more cost, more time and still no shower. Be Warned!
December 18th 2019 Update: Don't Dare Have A Problem...
After being ignored over broken product, I had to go to VCAT. VCAT ordered for me -the guy argued and argued, but lost. BUT they still didn't return my money! SO I had to register with the Magistrates - STILL they didn't pay as required. Now we are going to have to go further. Perhaps he's done this before? BE WARNED! If anything goes wrong you are on your own - they don't deal with complaints and THEY IGNORE CONSUMER LAW. So much for "100% consumer satisfaction"! I'm a consumer and just like the other guys I'm 100% NOT satisfied! I promise, cross my heart, that I will NOT give up until my VCAT ordered refund is refunded. You will NOT keep my thousands of dollars and deliver nothing!
When the company and transporter conveniently blame each other – Do not buy aeros products! Ridiculously flimsy product in ridiculously flimsy packaging meant EVERY element broken on arrival. Single piece of plastic film meant to protect heavy glass in transport! Company ignoring emails and phone always "busy". Be warned!
Great, but – R Series 1100 x 1100 option 5 kit, similar to the old 1100 series I believe but upgraded. Not sure if I should rate this as 1 star or 5. These units are a good looking shower with heaps of luxury add on features and most but not all of the components look to be solid and reasonable quality, so from an aesthetics perspective they score well which… Read more
is why you are here reading this, you've seen the pics and are interested.
However there are some significant short falls in quality control and engineering design. I understand these units are made off shore and some of the components reflect this as they appear assembled by the cheapest and roughest of Chinese budget manufacturing.
The finish of the polyester chop strand glass work on the underside of the base is quite poor, not important but it sets a tone as to the professionalism of the laborer's.
Numerous splash marks of polyester resin over the cling film protected gloss outer gelcoat finish of the base. These splashes had bonded through the cling film to the gelcoat and took a lot of time to scrape off with a razor. All good when removed just slack standards of workmanship which cost time to rectify.
Due to changes in components mid production the shower rose arm which secures through the glass centre panel at 2 places had an interference fit and would not fit correctly through the pre cut holes. The point loading from the shower rose arm on the radius of the precut holes was horrendous and would likely end up at some point with a broken back glass panel. It required another day of fabricating a nice looking spacer for the rose arm bases to land on and seal.
The machining quality of the top and bottom curved frame cut outs where the front/side glass panel inserts is average although accurate. The light weight chrome plated plastic retaining lugs at each end of these top and bottom frames are seriously wanting in design and the assembly was atrocious, loose screws and screws that completely missed screwing through their receiving part. The top and bottom curved frames are a critical structural component and the securing lugs at each end the most critical, these lugs should be far better in design and assembly, the design of the locking pins also falls short. The whole securing lug assembly on these frames should be alloy with a screw/captured nut fitting.
The securing of the glass back panels by way of plastic wedges on the back side makes it extremely difficult to accomplish if you are installing the unit in a small bathroom, I had to improvise a tool to complete this process. No guidance given, no instructions. I can think of several ways to engineer a solid rattle free base for the back panels to land on that would negate this process, not sure why the Aeros engineers couldn't.
The curved sliding front glass panels fit nicely once hung and aligned and can be adjusted to meet top and bottom with perfection. But through a manufacturing oversight once the plastic magnetic door seals are fitted to each door edge the dimensions change such that the water proof seals at the other edge of the door no longer kiss together to form a nice seal when the doors are closed. Attention to detail 101 and all that.
The whole concept of these units are for DIY installs and to this end a good set of instructions are essential and this is where Aero Showers really fall down. The only instructions were for an Option 2 unit through a web link pdf. With an Option 5 unit much of the plumbing instructions were not available, the companies statement on this is it would be too expensive to include instructions for each variant. I don't buy this and suspect the real reason might have more to do with the fact that if they had detailed instructions things such as the shower rose arm fitting with its interference fit would become a glaring anomaly.
In the end if you are looking for a personal shower for a cabin or shed in a non commercial application these showers might be just the ticket. However I would not recommend them for commercial applications, drunks or amorous couples, they're just not robust enough. Otherwise they're a great looking shower with more water jets than Las Vegas.
this is perfect for oldies like us – we replaced our old spar bath with the 12000 series Aeros shower ,we were able to install it our self ,the features it has built in make it a great shower cobicle.
Wow, what a fantastic product – Thank you for all advice on how to install. We had a difficult install into a 900mm dead end and was expecting some serious pain but all done in under an hr by myself and wife. The product looks quality and door slides with ease. Couldn't be happier
An exceptionally easy way to update your bathroom – Bought this after searching around the net, didn't really know what I was looking for but our old shower was leaking and getting older by the day - and it showed. When water started coming into the next room, it was time to do something about it. Searched high and low on the net, found Aeros. Had a good look at their website, rang them / emailed… Read more
them a couple of times, bit the bullet and ordered one.
To say we are pleased with it is an understatement! Our local handyman had the whole thing installed in ONE DAY. Quality components, easy assembly and above all VALUE FOR MONEY!
Definitely recommended!
