Aircon Off Smart Remote Basic
1 review
Turn your air conditioning into an energy saving unit – I have an Airbnb where guests often increase the reverse cycle air conditioning heat setting to 30c and cooling down to 18c. Inn addition the unit is often left running 24/7. This has resulted in increased power bills of up to AU$50 extra per week. To try to reduce wasted power I purchased an "Aircon Off Universal Air Conditioning Smart Remote" from The Good Guys Joondalup WA for AU$60. It promised that you can set maximum and minimum temperatures of your A/C unit then lock it. Once set up the product does exactly what it says and now the maximum heat is 24c and cooling minimum 22c. So whats the good and whats the bad?
The Good Does exactly what it says on the box Can buy from reputable retailers Works with virtually any brand of split Air Conditioning unit Manufacturer claims over 99% of brands supported Supports my 2 year old Fujitsu but only on "auto search setup mode" Has room temperature on the remotes LED screen AU$60 is a reasonable price for what it can save
The Bad Setup is not so easy and is fiddly I have a 2 year old Fujitsu unit and the supplied codes were not recognised Auto search mode worked on my unit but took forever
Conclusion Would I buy it again - Yes. Would I recommend the "Aircon Off" Smart Remote - Yes
