Has worked well but now keep getting E2 error. Keep cleaning water inlet valve and same error appears after a few washes. I totally agree with others that tempo after sale service is less than useless. Show details
On first use error e3 heatpump . So they sent a repairman who ended up damaging the pipes under sink. Now to take another day of work so there repairman can get paid to fix his damage....not happy Show details

11/22 build date , found ECO flashing and beeping Checked all the usual and couldn’t find where the water was coming from , all the components were dry. This machine may do 1-2 loads a week not over the top. I ran the machine on a 90 min cycle ,… Read more
half way through as I had the machine out I could see water pooling in the seam where the stainless body joins to the plastic base tub . When the cycle had finished I had a torch on the inside of the machine , checking the outside I could see light. So how do you even start to repair this ?…. A large tube of high temp silicone now that it’s out of warranty Pretty disappointing really
Follow-up · After applying sealant to the seam all the way around the machine hasn’t leaked , it did work .

THE BEST DISHWASHER PERFORMANCE. Best VALUE DISHWASHER. NOTHING EVER came out dirty. AND IT NEVER STUNK BAD. Every time everything came out cleaned perfectly. I have an expensive dishwasher now, cost 4 times more. It will NOT clean as well as my aldi sterling dishwasher. Things come out still dirty. The Aldi guarantee is also THE BEST. No one paid me for this review. It's an honest free will review. Show details
Would never buy another – Wouldn't clean dishes without pre rinsing under the tap, rotor becomes clogged by the slightest amount of debris which in turn hampers it's efficiency, The racks have rotted through, leaving the washer useless, each time we use another of the small prongs in the trays snaps off, the internal metal structure of the racks has corroded away, we… Read more
deliberately purchased a second set of dishes so we only run the washer when completely full, so once or twice a week at most. We've probably only used the washer for 30% of it's intended use before it's let us down. We noticed the corrosion about a month after the guarantee had ran out, we would have expected the washer to run a little longer considering it's light use. We are in a soft water area, no other water appliances have let us down. The washer itself still runs OK, However we can't use the washer without racks and rotors, dropped Sterling a line to see if replacement racks could be purchased, was told No, Very Disappointed Aldi and Sterling.
Great dishwasher for a small price – We purchased the ALDI dishwasher mainly for the price. $299 and 3 year warranty. All the others were only 1 year warranty. Works well does the job. The stainless steel is easy to keep clean. Show details
Stay Away! – Easy installation and I like the layout of the racks however we got a lemon. It never finished its first wash and was beeping/flashing error code saying there is an internal leak somewhere. The bottom was flooded. I called Tempo for help as per instructions in the Manual, they weren’t helpful at all. Told me to run another load eventho it’s… Read more
flooded ?!?!? I soon realised its stuck on the error code and it wasn’t going to do another load. So we unplugged it and dragged it back to Aldi store for a full refund

5 years of daily use – Have had dishwasher for 5 years and used daily, sometimes more than once. It has been fabulous for the price paid. Sadly, it has started beeping continuously and wanting to drain. Is there a reset button?? When will you have dishwashers as special buys again, so that I can replace? Show details
Never had a problem – We have had the dishwasher for 3 years and never a problem. It, like all things, it must be properly maintained and don't over load it with dirty plates. Use common sense and scrap plates properly before using. Show details
Inexpensive dishwasher that can be great if you properly maintain it – I had to raise the upper basket as the default upper basket position was too low so when I had large items in the lower basket the upper spray arm would hit the tops of large items in the lower basket. If you don't need the additional clearance to fit large items in the lower basket leave the upper basket at the default position as the upper… Read more · 1
spray arm will be closer to items in the lower basket and thus clean better than having the upper basket higher and upper spray arm further from items in the lower basket.
I am a healthy person so I don't often cook oily and greasy foods so most of my dishes are only lightly to moderately soiled. I scrape excess food off dishes but I never rinse dishes before placing said dishes in the dishwasher.
If you are using a cycle with a prewash and main wash be sure to place some detergent in the detergent dispenser prewash and main wash compartments to maximise cleaning performance.
For best results with cycles that have a prewash use a dishwasher liquid/gel in the prewash dispenser as liquid/gel dissolves quicker than powder and thus is better because the prewash is only 15-20 minutes on most dishwashers so the powder has barely dissolved if at all before the prewash has ended and water is drained.
The instruction manual's recommendation of 27.5g of detergent in the main wash seems to be on the high side for powdered detergents I've tried and results in detergent residue buildup in the machine, on and around the door seals especially on the cooler cycles, I've gotten comparable results with only 1 tablespoon (14.3g) of powdered detergent.
The best value combo with excellent cleaning performance I've found so far is gel or liquid which dissolves the quickest for the short prewash, dishwashing powder for the main wash and generic/store brand rinse aid.
Cleaning the dishwasher monthly with a dishwasher cleaner is worthwhile especially if you use cheap powdered detergents and/or have a lot of contaminates in your water supply like limescale and/or use the cooler cycles like Eco which leave more detergent residue, food residue and limescale behind in the dishwasher than hotter cycles. Check the course and fine filters at least weekly. Also check the water inlet filter for grit buildup at least trimonthly.
I use a combination of the default Eco cycle which has a 45° main wash and 52° rinse for lightly to moderately soiled loads and the Intensive cycle which has a 60° main wash and 65° rinse for more heavily soiled loads. I rarely use the 90 Mins cycle which has a 65° main wash and 65° rinse as this cycle has cracked some cups, bowls and plates. On all cycles I am happy with the cleaning performance of the dishwasher relative to other dishwashers I have used that featured similar cycle water temperatures and run times.
After about 6 months of use some internal plastics did start to fade from the initial shade of grey but purely cosmetic and other people don’t see inside your dishwasher so a non-issue.
The dishwasher was quieter than I expected it to be given the low price.
Dishes can be quite wet at the end of cycles especially the lower temperature cycles where water doesn’t evaporate from the tops of cups and other items as quickly or at all. The Extra Drying option is a waste of time vs just opening the door immediately at the end of a cycle.
To minimise the need to dry dishes upon cycle completion immediately open dishwasher door so as much water evaporates as possible.
Cheap dishwashers like other cheap appliances can suffer from an extreme Bathtub Curve, if you get a good unit it can work for years but if you get a bad unit there can seemingly be no end of issues.
Only additional features I could see being worth paying more for would be a top mounted spray arm so items in sliding cutlery rack are cleaned better and a drying fan, at this price range these omissions due to cost reasons are to be expected.
I don’t use the sliding cutlery rack as I tend to carefully overload the upper basket with many cups so there is not much room between items but everything comes out clean on the Eco and Intensive cycles and I save on reduced cycles, detergent, electricity and water use.
For $349 I am very happy with my purchase but I wouldn’t blanket recommend people buy an inexpensive dishwasher as there are potential pitfalls and when things do go wrong installation/removal fees charged by plumbers can be expensive destroying any cost savings initially achieved from getting an inexpensive dishwasher.
EDIT: I've removed Logix Dishwasher Powder from the review as the formulation of the product has changed and the product now leaves excessive residue behind in the machine so I would not recommend it.
EDIT 2: 31/7/2025 The dishwasher is still working flawlessly after close to 4 years.
Negative reviews
The dishwasher is the worst appliance I have dealt with and, similar to other people I wish I had read the reviews. The dishwasher was used one day a week and broke after 6 months by an overflow. This as I said is after less then 40 uses. The worst was getting Tempo to Honour the warranty. The first phone call i was disconnected 3 times. Once… Read more
finally organised they sent me details of a repairer that I was to call and organise a time (once wiping their hands of any support). I rang the repairer and they said they had refused the job and then I had to call again. Was offered a refund as apparently no other repairers out in my area and then the call centre person changed their mind and were escalated. I was then refused the refund they offered and had to call another repairer. This time the repairer said they were waiting for approval from Tempo. I then had to call again to organise this. As of now I am still waiting to have it repaired with Tempo blaming everyone but themselves. I also have raised with them how much of my time is taken up by chasing them up for truthful and accurate information. I’ll be avoiding the Aldi middle aisle like the plague for a long time.

Don't waste your money – Wish I read these reviews before purchasing! I may as well have gone outside and burnt my money.... keeps flashing ECO won't drain, does not clean properly, leaves a dirty film eleven with expensive pods. Same problems as everyone else I guess. Show details
Put your money into a better brand – Has lasted 2 years 2 mths . It now won’t drain. Has had everything cleaned and checked and makes no difference. We have always rinsed dishes and used the tablets recommended. Guess for $349 you get what you pay for lesson learnt
Flimsy build and unreliable – Having spent several miserable years with the extremely expensive LG QuadWash XD3A15NS Dishwasher, I came to the conclusion that the extremely cheap Stirling STR-DWSS12 could not possibly be any worse. In all fairness to Stirling, it probably wasn't any worse than the LG, however there are a few points worth noting. The build quality of the LG is… Read more
pretty good, compared to the flimsy Stirling, which feels unnervingly delicate. In favour of the Stirling though, is it washes and dries much better than the LG. In fact, no complaints about the Stirling's washing and drying at all. It's also nice and easy to use and stacks very well too. Alas though, where the LG lasted 4 years before quitting, the Stirling only went for 4 weeks before it started to error. Long story short, we had the repair man several times, but within a week or two of each visit, the machine errored again. I owned the machine for about 6 months, but got fed up with having to get the repair man out. It was always fixed under warranty, but quite inconvenient. Eventually I got my money back and have brought a Westinghouse, which is much better than both the LG and the Stirling. I will review this next.

don't waste your money on expensive goods – Buying a dishwasher After 10 years of service, my Aldi dishwasher was producing fault messages. After checking out all the recommendations to clear the fault, I decided to replace the unit. My reasoning: Ten years ago the initial cost was $350. The cost of a repairman callout today would be approx $150. If a part was required, that would be about… Read more
$100+ and maybe a second call charge. After a perusal of the net, off to the store to purchase a replacement unit under $400 with a two year warranty. The sales assistant recommended a more upmarket unit and a three year replacement insurance. I resisted. Why? The Aldi Sterling unit has serve us well for 10years, no service or problems. Years ago when some Government energy suppliers were selling appliances, they asked for a quality standard for the appliances they sold and installed in public housing. This became a voluntary Standard but if you wanted the contract with the energy suppliers, you had to get the Standards approval mark. For dishwashers, the initial pass was over 80% clean after a full load on the main normal cycle. When Minister Turnbull brought in energy labelling, this quality Standard was used as the measure. So my choice was a basic machine. If the manufacturer gives me 2years warranty, the machine is possibly built for 4years as they would prefer no recalls. Surveys on dishwashing machines have shown that any electronic problems show up within the first 5 years. The average life of such machines is 10 years – some will last 15 years and some 7.5 years. Any machine will clean your dishes. The extra water and electricity per year as calculated on the usage label is minimal. The old machine had a countdown display. The display LEDs on this one are much too small but it still beeps when the cycle finished. Here’s hoping!

When it works it’s good – Have had issues basically since we bought it intermittently. Sometimes the arms of the dishwasher won’t spin. Appears to be an issue with the pump. So frustrating, we use top quality dishwashing tablets, rinse aid and use dishwasher cleaner too, and our glassware and everything on top rack still comes out dirty. Spinning arms get clogged so easily also. Really disappointed, trying to have someone look at it under warranty. Show details

details of the repairer and advised they will be in contact
I've called the repairer on 20/11/2022 whom was really apologetic as they don't service my area and said that they know nothing of the work allocated to them, in addition it will take another 8 days before Tempo.org could have the parts provided to the repairer
Tempo.org is absolutely useless, international call centre and all they can say is that they will notify the service team about this feedback.
ALDI, you guys really need to find a better warranty company to look after your aftersale service and warranty.
its been 9 days to be told that the repairer knows nothing about the job another 7-10 days before repairer gets the appropriate parts and then for the repairer to book in the job
