ALDI Westacre Dairy Vintage Cheese

It’s absolutely garbage ,they say it’s matured a minimum of 9 months , more like 9 hrs , nothing but a tasteless piece of rubber, I’d be embarrassed to print my company on the packaging if I turned out trash like that , I’m suprised the piece of rubber didn’t bounce back out when I chucked it in the bin

Purchased Aldi vintage cheese and have been very disappointed by its taste,(or lack of it). It is certainly not VINTAGE cheese at all. No flavour as it is tasteless like cardboard. Will not buy Aldi cheese again I will shop at other supermarkets to buy my cheese. Show details

Very disappointing and annoying as bought for holidays. It’s a long drive for us to our nearest Aldi – V Mouldy Cheeses .Not just the Westacre Vintage ; this and other types of Westacre cheeses several times now. Bought from Aldi in Healesville. A cheddar con by Aldi – Vintage cheddar should have a textured calcification within the cheese. It should have a more crumbly texture identifying that it has been matured for at least 18 month. Aldi. ALDI your customers will buy a good vintage quality cheddar at a higher price if you provide it on the shelf. Just don't try to con your customers.

Blandest of cheeses – The name vintage doesn't make any sense for this bland tasting cheese, not even by the Australian standard of a vintage cheese. For a European company Aldi should know better, since European vintage cheeses are in general of a much higher quality than the ones we can buy in Australia. Show details

Tasteless – I had been buying this for some time but something has changed. The packaging had changed but I think the cheese itself has as well. Surprised by the negative reviews, I love it – I am really surprised to see the negative reviews on this cheese as every block I have purchased has been excellent. I make my own cheese so am not biased on this. Never had a block go mouldy unopened, but to anyone that opens a packet , leaves in the fridge and it gets green mould: Basically that is usually a Penicillium mould, and the cheese has been inoculated from other stuff in your fridge. worst Vintage cheese ever – I love Vintage cheese I like the strong sharp bitey flavour I was in Aldi and seen the westacre vintage, bought it, got home took off a slice and it was terrible it was worse than mild it was tasteless really diasppointed I will not buy Westacre cheese again

Tasty flavour is nice but hard to seperate slices! – The taste is good but it's impossible to seperate the tasty cheese slices. I've bought many 500g pkts and a couple of 250g packets. Our family has an in house competition to see who can successfully remove one slice in it's entirety without breaking apart. Completely frustrating. Recipe has changed – Used to love this cheese and would buy it every week. The last month has been terrible. Aldi Cheese does not last till the use by date – I have purchased Westacre and Dairybell Cheese from Aldi for many years. must have just got a bad batch so persevered twice. Each time the cheese went green before the use by date. My fridge temperature is satisfactory for cheese. The alternative cheese brands for sale at Aldi are considerably more expensive than Westacre and barely competitive with Woolworths or Coles cheese.
