The Westcare Vintage cheese was good but is now very poor, I suggest they go back to the original recipe. I suggest Aldi acknowledge the problem and advise when it will be fixed. Show details
Westacre Vintage Cheese from ALDI used to be a good cheese. It had a nice taste, and was easy to slice. Lately, this product is more like processed cheese, it can't be sliced. It sticks to the knife, squashes breaks.
Not tasty!!! It’s bland, false advertising, it says vintage, this indicates high in flavour,,, won’t any of there products again,,and I shall tell all family and friends until the day I die,, Show details

Beware unknown green on cheese – Purchased the product yesterday opened it this morning to find one end green which I presume is mould. Expiry date June 2025! Not sure what state the cheese will be in by then. Show details

Mouldy to a fault greencheese block – I bought a block of Westacre cheese use by date 6/1/24 and cannot use it because it is mottled with dark green mould Show details
Food Quality – I have purchased Westacre Vintage cheese from Aldi for years, have found the quality and taste great, until recently. Noticed cheese would lose its taste after a short period in the fridge, recently purchased and had to throw out half and tasteless rubber substitute. I purchase a 500g block yesterday as hoping they had rectify the problem, I… Read more
sliced a couple of slices and ate it, only to notice Mould/mildew growing, packet as very lose not tight fitting like most times I have purchased. The 1 star is for the product but also Aldi's ability to sell fresh product.
Aldi Westacre Cheese going MOLDY – On 3 occasions now i have purchased this cheese and it has gone MOLDY long before its expiry date. The one i purchased in April had the expiry date of August 2023. When i took this last lot back to the shop i spoke to the Aldi shop Manager and he was surprised that this had happened !! I explained that this was the 3rd time this had happened and… Read more
that he really needed to advise Aldi Head Office that where ever Westacre is produced they seem to have a problem. !!!
Aldi Westacre Cheese Tasty and Vintage - Misleading Bland and Tasteless – In March 2023 we purchased Aldi Westacre Cheese Tasty and Vintage in both block and shredded. The cheese was bland and tasteless and without exception the worst cheese ever purchased. I will never buy again and advise Aldi shoppers to avoid purchasing Aldi Westacre Cheese. Show details

It’s absolutely garbage ,they say it’s matured a minimum of 9 months , more like 9 hrs , nothing but a tasteless piece of rubber, I’d be embarrassed to print my company on the packaging if I turned out trash like that , I’m suprised the piece of rubber didn’t bounce back out when I chucked it in the bin
Purchased Aldi vintage cheese and have been very disappointed by its taste,(or lack of it). It is certainly not VINTAGE cheese at all. No flavour as it is tasteless like cardboard. Will not buy Aldi cheese again I will shop at other supermarkets to buy my cheese. Show details
ALDI Australia what's happened to your Westacre Vintage cheese?? Used to be THE BEST. My last 2 purchases have tasted like every other tasteless cheese on the supermarket shelves. So sad Show details
I found the Tasty cheese tasteless, so tried the vintage it's the worst vintage cheese I've ever had, Aldi Emporium ones are ok but only available in small expensive blocks. Show details

All Aldi's shredded cheese has absolutely no taste and l would compare it to eating shredded cardboard. If l could give it a minus l would. Spend a little more and buy better. Show details
Very disappointing and annoying as bought for holidays. It’s a long drive for us to our nearest Aldi – V Mouldy Cheeses .Not just the Westacre Vintage ; this and other types of Westacre cheeses several times now. Bought from Aldi in Healesville. We use cooler bags for transporting these products and then refrigerate immediately. 28th Dec 2024, Just opened a Vintage Westacre supposedly “best before July 2025 “ but entire surface of cheese is covered… Read more
in blue mould. We travel a long way to Aldi’s so it is very inconvenient to return products & it is v disappointing having done our shopping for the festive season .I expect to hear from you.
A cheddar con by Aldi – Vintage cheddar should have a textured calcification within the cheese. It should have a more crumbly texture identifying that it has been matured for at least 18 month. Westcare is not a vintage cheddar because the natural maturation possess has not taken place I believe this packaging of, possibly a semi matured cheddar as a Vintage is a con by… Read more
Aldi. ALDI your customers will buy a good vintage quality cheddar at a higher price if you provide it on the shelf. Just don't try to con your customers.
Blandest of cheeses – The name vintage doesn't make any sense for this bland tasting cheese, not even by the Australian standard of a vintage cheese. For a European company Aldi should know better, since European vintage cheeses are in general of a much higher quality than the ones we can buy in Australia. Show details
Tasteless – I had been buying this for some time but something has changed. The packaging had changed but I think the cheese itself has as well. It is now tasteless, has a plasticky texture and doesn't even smell like cheese. It also had mould on it when I opened it. So disappointed and will not be buying it again. Show details
Surprised by the negative reviews, I love it – I am really surprised to see the negative reviews on this cheese as every block I have purchased has been excellent. I make my own cheese so am not biased on this. Never had a block go mouldy unopened, but to anyone that opens a packet , leaves in the fridge and it gets green mould: Basically that is usually a Penicillium mould, and the cheese has been inoculated from other stuff in your fridge. Keep opened cheese in a plastic container. Show details
Vintage cheese – Gave Aldi Vintage cheese a miss for 6 month because it was tasteless with no flavour(thought we had a faulty batch) but tried it again this week and still found it tasteless (why call it Vintage cheese).Went to Woolworth found there Vintage cheese had a bite to it (bit more expensive)but will buy from Woolworth in future Not sure if Aldi ever read these reviews Show details
CONCERNED CHEESE BUYER – I purchased a 500g block of Aldi vintage cheese last week from Aldi in Young NSW I thought the cheese was excellent. Surprised to see negative reviews Perhaps the red wine and being hungry made a difference

Tasty flavour is nice but hard to seperate slices! – The taste is good but it's impossible to seperate the tasty cheese slices. I've bought many 500g pkts and a couple of 250g packets. Our family has an in house competition to see who can successfully remove one slice in it's entirety without breaking apart. Completely frustrating. I think I'll purchase another brand in the future, one that doesn't crumble. Show details
Recipe has changed – Used to love this cheese and would buy it every week. The last month has been terrible. Was hoping it was just a bad batch or something but after four weeks of terrible flavour to the point we just throw it out hoping the next one would be back to normal, we are now giving up and unfortunately won't be continuing to purchase. Disappointed too… Read more
because we don't have another block of cheese that we actually enjoy like we used to with westacre vintage.
Aldi Cheese does not last till the use by date – I have purchased Westacre and Dairybell Cheese from Aldi for many years. Fairly recently Dairybell disappeared from the shelf so I started to only buy Westacre this included Block and Shredded cheese. This year, both block and shredded cheese have only lasted for 2 weeks after purchase even though the use buy date is several months. I thought I… Read more
must have just got a bad batch so persevered twice. Each time the cheese went green before the use by date. My fridge temperature is satisfactory for cheese. The alternative cheese brands for sale at Aldi are considerably more expensive than Westacre and barely competitive with Woolworths or Coles cheese.
Very dissatisfied with this item. Lacks flavour in comparison to the Westacre Tasty Cheddar and has a higher price tag Show details
Soapy cheese – Tastes like rubber soap...pity. Both their brands now taste the same at least Emporium was better for while Show details
