These cargo pants used to be better quality/design. I have bought more than 10 pairs over the years. They go on sale again this week on 5th March 2025 and from the photo it looks like the same design as the previous (March 2024?) sale pants, of which I bought 3 pairs without noticing the differences as they were folded up. The new design is… Read more

lower quality. It no longer has a reinforced black grippy sewn in waistband and over time it stretches. The pockets are also different from the previous design. The fabric seems slightly thinner or weaker. I've had some buttons come off within a month of use, which has never happened to me on these pants.

I won't buy anymore this time and am looking at other options.

Aldi Workzone Cargo pants is a good bang for the buck – For under $20 a pair, these Aldi Workzone Cargo pants are definitely a good buy. They do not look or feel as premium as the equivalent from Hard Yakka. Nor do they offer the same amount of pockets and quality zip / buttons as Hard Yakka's do. But for less that 1/3 of the price, it is hard to compete if value is the most important. Workzone Cargo… Read more

pants are made from cotton while Hard Yakka has 38% polyester and 2% elastane. While the Hard Yakka is slightly heavier, they do feel better against the skin. No idea which one traps odour more.

Workzone Cargo pants' left leg pocket is too big and offers two layers, one zip and another velcro, probably good for wallet, much bigger than the right leg pocket which is just enough for a large mobile phone. Hip pockets are not as deep as Hard Yakka and the key pocket is way too large. You get what you pay for.

But these cargo pants are way better than the Jogger Pants from Aldi. We have those too and their cutting leaves a lot of room to be desired.

WorkZone trousers – Great, durable, practical, very useful but they get discolored and go purple on the front legs of the trousers. After they have been cold washer a few times the front legs become discolored to purple Show details

Great value for money – ALDI offers another decent product for a good price. I am a small business owner and like many, I don’t like wasting money. It seems trivial to review a pair of pants but for those who like me a few years back we’re swaring by the big names brands work pants, it’s a big ask to buy cheap work pants... You want durable, easy to wash, tough and… Read more

practical. Well, ALDI has done just that, their work pants are great, I bought my first pair 3 years ago and I haven’t regretted the $17 spent. I have now made the switch, I only use them. There is no thrill yes I’ll admit that, it’s not as thick as your Hard Yakka too. Since I wear pants all year round (mainly for safety purposes) I found them easy to wear even on really hot days. Let me give you all the good points

They are light weight so even wet it’s ok, they will dry quickly They are not stiff like others I haven’t had the button broken They have a « stick stay » around the waist so the pants never fall or your shirt stays in place They are very resistant, I don’t have a hole in any of them Last, they are easy to maintain, barely any ironing is necessary, regular stains come off easily.

So I have to say I usually buy the best I can afford as I hate buying cheap nasty products that don’t perform. But for these pants I can’t justify not buying it, I have all I need from them, a place for the phone, wallet and keys. If you need knee pads pockets you can always sow them on but I always find them useless, if you want to store nails in your pockets, use a cheap tool belt, you are less likely to injure yourself because you left one in it...
