This toothpaste is Wonderful. It cleans my teeth really well. It's lovely to use. My gums are healthier since using it. And if you are salicylate sensitive there are no chemicals to react to. I always make sure I have a few spare tubes as it's so hard to get toothpaste that I don't react to.
DONT BUY THIS ALFREE TOOTHPASTE I bought 6 tubes of this toothpaste from chemist warehouse & it is not cheap. 3 of the 6 tubes had liquid in them so when you squeeze the toothpaste it would bubble out in wet pops & leak off my toothbrush, not a consistent tube of paste, i tried to call the company about 5 times now in work hours the company… Read more
states its Australian although there was no answer only a US voice message, i left my number over about 5 days with no response!!! VERY UPSET
It used to be good, but lately, half of the toothpaste tube is just air when you buy it. This is the second time it’s happened, so it’s clearly not a random issue. Paying $6.50 for almost nothing is really disappointing!
I find Alfree extremely drying in the mouth after brushing and gives me a white tongue. I have been loyal and using the product for at least 10 years even with the formula and packaging changes however the dry mouth I get after I use it makes it unbearable to continue to use. What a shame. The old formulation was so much better, I wish you could return back to that old formulation
Definitely not the experience I was hoping for – This is mush in a tube which dispenses like curdled goo making it go everywhere. Then you have to keep adding more and more because it turns very watery when you start to brush. I have to use around 5 times more toothpaste than I normally would. The apple fragrance is a waste of time, in fact I’m not sure what that ingredient actually is. Plus the aftertaste is just awful!
Helped me so much – I’ve been trying to figure out for a long time, (over year and half) why my gums were inflamed and very red. I’ve tried multiple tooth pastes, doctors, blood tests, dentists, removing certain foods ect ect. Only found this toothpaste 5 days ago and what a difference it’s made. Saved me another trip to the nutritionist. Don’t get all the one star ratings. Highly recommend. For $6 a tube it’s worth not being in pain.
No nasties – Some other people have stated how it seems to have separated etc. but I put that to ALFREE and they said it is because they don't use parabens. If you want it to be cohesive then you can only get that with a toothpaste that has parabens.
Waste of money – Paying $7 for 100g of a product that is simply awful is outrageous. I bought this because of an allergy. I would rather the effects of the allergy than the horrid taste, being left with a gritty mouth and a disgusting white coating on my tongue. The product had separated, and when I used it for the first time, liquid squirted out everywhere. I was… Read more
assured the product was in date (I’ve never ever had to ‘shake’ a tube of toothpaste prior to use before). And that because it is chemical free blah, blah, blah, it was unfortunate I had such a bad experience. I was offered a replacement. No thanks, I wouldn’t take any amount of this product free. I definitely do not recommend!!!!
Horrible Toothpaste – This toothpaste is terrible in taste and texture. The tube is hard to use as well. Have stopped using it and found a flavour free toothpaste made by an Australian company. Grants of Australia. It's fantastic.
New Packaging Very Poor – I have used Alfree Toothpaste for several years - always found it a great product as I have to avoid TRICLOSAN in toothpaste. What have you done to this product? The new product does not clean like the old one and the tube is not user-friendly for people with arthritic fingers. Once opened, the shorter, thicker tube is difficult to close thus… Read more
sending the toothpaste dry and crusty. Like many others, I buy this toothpaste in bulk and have several tubes that I now do not wish to use. Fortunately, I have been able to find another brand that I am able to use to avoid my allergy. There's an old saying 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' - why did you mess around with what was an excellent product?
Poor product – The led won’t close, difficult to squeeze out and any toothpaste left goes dry and then it’s difficult to push out any product. A liquid comes out with the toothpaste. All together a very poor product, don’t buy
New formula and packaging no longer a winner – This product used to actually be Allergy Free. Not anymore! Plus the packaging is difficult to use and the lid does not close again. The paste is now clumpy and difficult to squeeze out. Separarated liquid also squirts out. It now has a soapy mint flavour, extra foaming agent and bleaching agent included. A poor alternate to the previous winning formula! I will be looking for REAL Allergy free alternatives elsewhere.
Why Change the best toothpaste? – I have used Alfree for many years and always bought multiple tubes at a time. So now I have 10 of the 'new' recipe - why did you change from the best, free flowing, easy tube to the clay consistency, adult-proof (let alone childproof) container. It still does an excellent job of cleaning and no allergic reactions, but it is the worst mixture ever.
very poor packaging – The new packaging makes it difficult to get the toothpaste out of the tube and I can't close the lid. I have asked our pharmacist if he can source another brand.
What a disaster your "New" alfree toothpaste and packaging is!!! – Why on earth would a company change a winning formulae to something that is totally unacceptable. The tube is a disaster. How older people with health problems that are unable to use much strength in their hands are to open it and squeeze any out beats me. The consistency and flavor are terrible. I have used it for years because of my health… Read more
problems but am now puzzled as to what to do ? I have been on the website to send an email to the company but there is no venue for doing so ? My rating would be no stars its a total disaster !!!
Un happy – Your new product is no way the same as your last one. The flavour has changed leaving a funny taste and the new tube is so bad that it will not close and has made the paste dry out. Not happy
What a disaster! – I have used Alfree for years as I have a mouth condition which means I can't use normal toothpaste. I didn't realise they had changed the formula so I stocked up online before I tried it, big mistake. It was an excellent product before now it is truly awful - soapy, causes a reaction, terrible texture, coats your tongue. As someone said it is… Read more
like using shampoo. Ugh. They have totally wrecked it. The packaging is also a disaster. PLEASE bring back the old formula.
new toothpaste stinks! – New toothpaste stinks! This new toothpaste is disgusting. Right now I'm using water for my teeth. It's so hard finding toothpaste that I like so please please PLEASE! Bring back the old toothpaste :( (age 10)
New formula is crap – I'm with everyone else that has posted since the new formula has come out. IT NEED TO GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am now having to fine a new toothpaste as can not keep using this one due to burning of the mouth since the ingredients change. I have rung the company and made a complaint but they just past it off by saying they had a lot… Read more
of people asking for one of the original ingredients to be removed. I am yet to see and comments or reviews asking for this. Until I found this toothpaste a few years back I had to use children's toothpaste as it was the only one I could stand but even that gave me a small allergic reaction every time I used it. This new company has screwed this product up. It was perfect before this. Such a stupid decisions made by the new company.
Very disappointed too – Many years ago I got a condition called "Burning Mouth Syndrome" - couldn't use regular toothpaste as it bunt and tingled my tongue. When I finally found Alfree a few years ago, it was such a relief to use a toothpaste that had no effect on my tongue. Now they go and change the formula and the packaging and I can not use it any more. It burns,… Read more
tingles, numbs my tongue. The texture is weird and the flavour awful. I can hardly squeeze the toothpaste out, and the lid doesn't even close properly. From what I can tell they have made it "gluten free" which has changed the whole product. I can't use it. Will have to search for another alternative.
Very disappointed! – I agree with all the latest reviews. What Company would buy a product that worked so well for so many people and then change the whole thing. They changed the packaging, which was bad enough but to change the formula is just ludicrous. It now has a disgusting perfumey taste, as well as containing ingredients that are just not needed, as evidenced… Read more
by the amount of people who used and loved the old formula. It was a fantastic toothpaste, I loved using it and now I am searching again for something similar and having no luck whatsoever! So very disappointed Alfree!
So disappointed!!! – I use to love this product as I am very chemically sensitive. But now that the recipe and the packaging has changed, I will have to find another toothpaste. It tastes horrible and the consistency isn’t right. With Arthritis in my hands I physically can’t open the lid or squeeze the toothpaste out of the tube without the assistance of someone to help me.
Very disappointed with the new formula – Alfree is now manufactured by a different company. This is the only toothpaste I can use as I have an allergy to SLS and mint and any toothpaste which contains these ingredients tends to sting my mouth. Chemist Warehouse used to stock the old formula however now it is not as readily available. I did manage to find one of their stores in… Read more
Brisbane who stock it so have purchased several tubes so I don't run out. The new formula has an odd flavour now and also I find it extremely difficult to squeeze it out of the tube. I have to remove the lid to do this. It is very hard when it comes out and if you are not careful it will fall straight off your toothbrush. I find I have to put the brush in my mouth and dissolve the toothpaste with my tongue before commencing brushing. All in all I am very disappointed and very annoyed that this change has occured as I have found no other options for plain toothpaste anywhere and I have searched both instore and online. The company who now manufacture Alfree are also introducing "Pear" and "Charcoal Whitening" varieties of their toothpaste. There are no contact details on their website so I am unable to get in touch with them to voice my disapproval.
Go back to the old ingredients please – Alfree toothpaste has changed its ingredients and it now tastes awful/ like shampoo in your mouth. I used the old alfree for years and was so happy with the toothpaste (I used it for my children as well). Please go back to the original ingredients, I now need to find a new toothpaste
Its Not the same – The tube is a nightmare to open and close, and would be impossible for those with disabilities to use. The feel and flavor are now awful , very disappointed with the changes and will have to look for a replacement toothpaste.
Good option for people with ADHD – My son has symptoms of ADHD. Artificial colours, flavours, preservatives makes him moody, irritated & disorganised. He is on the RPAH elimination diet. This product seems to be alright. The earlier tube was nice, opening the lid in the new tube is hard. I unscrew the entire lid instead.
Salycilate free – I'm very salycilate intolerant and on a low chemical diet. Regular toothpastes add to my chemical load and actually make me feel nauseous. Alfree is excellent and causes no reaction. I highly recommend it for people with allergies and food intolerances.
Excellent Toothpaste/no reactions – I have searched for 2 years and found Allfree as I have lichen planus which comes and goes and is very painful. I am going to name a toothpaste i used for yrs Biotene....the company was sold and different chemcals were added and burnt my mouth so much i called my dentist and receptionist sorted it. Biotene said NEW and IMPROVED Oh yes go on !!!!! what a joke.So thank heavens for ALLFREE TOOTHPASTE
The best! Excellent! No reactions! Allergy suffers unite! – In the last 6 months - 1 year I have worsening eczema on my lips and around my mouth but couldn't work out why. Toothpaste! After testing many other toothpastes with the same reaction - FINALLY, A PLAIN TOOTHPASTE! I found alfree at Terry White Chemist. (After some research I believe I have a flavouring (mint) allergy.) Positives No painful… Read more
