We contracted Rodsand Sheds & Garages to supply and build two fly over patio covers which when complete, bore little resemblance to the design ordered. Rodsand Sheds & Garages couldn’t build the design ordered, but instead of telling us this, they went ahead and installed a patio cover of their own design which sits barely above the roof of the house with one beam slicing through the house roof, is pitched towards the house and had no independent drainage system.

Rodsand Sheds & Garages directed us to use Phil Mead All Approvals Building Certification Licence A712799 to certify and sign off on this mess . He was never present during "construction", and during his brief 30second site visit he never inspected the pergola or even got up on a ladder. He did it all from ground level.

Even with moderate rainfall we have had water ingress into our house as this structure did not have an independent drainage system (see photos)

All Approvals Building Certification Licence A712799 approved and certified this pergola structure as being fully compliant and being fit for purpose.

Rodsand were found at fault for Building Code breaches by QBCC with two lots of repairs costing in excess of $30,000:00 to date undertaken by rectifying builders via QBCC’s Home Warranty Insurance.

All Approvals Building Certification Licence A712799 have been found twice in 2024 of "unsatisfactory conduct" and breached section 136(1) of the Building Act and is in direct contravention of the Code of Conduct for Building Certifiers specifically Standard of Conduct and Professionalism no’s. 1, 3, 7 and 8.

It is strongly recommended you do a QBCC licence check for any pending defaults/penalties.
