Great Unit – Seek out professionals that know what they are doing and you won't regret it. I have a Skoda Superb wagon and can't be more pleased with the end result. The unit looks great in the car and I am so happy I went with this than with other units on the market. Word of advice: Seek out professionals to get the tricky jobs done!! navi, screen, sound, awesome, 3 year map upgrades expensive
Nice enough head unit but very expensive, and missing advertised features – This is a very expensive top of the line unit from Alpine on their your website they say it is Fully compatible with the steering wheel controls for my car but I am two months on from pointing out that neither phone button nor volume control works with the INE-Z928Ei, without any solution. On their facebook page they admitted the phone answer/call button does not work with a lot of makes and models (despite clear claims it does on their website), they also admitted via email despite claims the scrolling volume control on Skoda vehicles since 2010 is not compatible either..
It is a little frustrating they know and admit these features do not work but they don't change their website months on which is still making compatibility claims they know to be false. They even have a picture of the scroll wheel volume control they know doesn't work with "Full compatibility controls" written next to the picture...
They did tell me that the Alpine people in the UK are working on it, but since these controls have been on Skoda vehicles since 2010 and they haven't fixed it yet I am far from holding my breath... nice sounds quality, good GPS False Advertising regarding sterring wheel control compatability
They promised to update their website, but a month later it is still falsely advertising features they know (and admit after you buy it) do not work...
I have Skoda 2011 Superb wagon with three spoke steering wheel with roller volume control. I would suggest having a professional do the install as mine works perfectly and as intended. ALL buttons work. Fantastic unit, sound quality also improved after install. Nice to have a real navigation and system that works flawlessly with bluetooth and reversing camera :) My advice, no DIY jobs seek out professionals for a quality job.
LOL azza, nice assumptions there... Mine was installed by an Alpine certified dealer/installer the problem was the interface module supplied by Alpine which if you read my review before spouting off that I should use a professional installer, was admitted by Alpine themselves..
Anyway about a month after I put the review here and months after I actually bought the unit Alpine finally released a new module that actually worked with the Skoda vehicles as they had previously been claiming it did despite never actually testing it..
So I guess you were lucky to have it installed AFTER the ongoing problem was solved hence it worked with your car...
Joel, what you most likely need to get the steering wheel interface to work with your radio is a CANBUS audio interface adapter. Pac-Audio solutions are typically used for this. external link .
Just had this unit installed in my 2008 Golf GTI and only the volume can be adjusted via the steering wheel. The rest of the buttons don't work

Certified dealer/installer, which I also used, doesn't help you when the interface unit from Alpine is not compatible as Alpine admitted to me despite their false advertising of full compatibility.. It has since been rectified (a few months ago) after months of delays, presumably you got one of the newer units..
