alot of people don't notice this and if you don't notice this and use the sub the way it is the coil will be on an angle and that means the bottom of the coil will rub on the inside of the motor sleeve and get hot and eventually burn out sooner than later unless you are a pansy and also an imbecile and didn't notice the poor quality and send it back for a refund like I did. The only good thing was that the dealer I bought mine from was willing to give refund. But alpine was not willing to send another subwoofer out. Alpine is a rip off joke. DO NOT BUY unless you like Russian roulette with your hard earned money. Spend a bit more and buy a rockfords forsgate power t2 subwoofer, these are way better and more powerful and they hit like a much bigger sub. When comparing the forsgate 12 you need to compare with alpine 15 inch pretty much.

Works well, AU pricing over the top – Have had this in the convertible a year now - it fit's neatly in the ski pass and provides some much needed bass response It has a good range and is not overly 'boomy', my only gripe is that the Australian prices are almost double the US, so buy from a US site where possible Good clean sound, looks good Australian Pricing Show reply

Excellent – This is my 2nd time using Type R subs. The 1st time was a set of 1st generation 12's on a JL 500/1 in a 3.83cf box tuned to 35hz. This time its a 3rd generation 10" with the HAMR engineering and its way beyond the 1st ones I used. I only have one 10" with a Alpine MRP-M500 and WOW.
