Altec Lansing VS4121 / VS4121BLK Computer Speakers

Workes very well – I have this product for 8 years now and its been working fine. If your audio file is clean it will reproduce excellent sound, if you have a equalizer that a bonus - i use Power Amp app which has a great equalizer and the music from here is the best.

Pretty ordinary – With Altec Lansing's heritage you'd expect great things from these speakers but, at the end of the day, they're pretty ordinary. The sound is quite "honky" with a fairly boomy, one-note bass. A bit of tweaking of iTunes EQ settings tames things a bit but they'll never sound great (to my ears anyway). Styling looks good Erratic frequency response resulting in pretty ordinary sound

Bad – Final note: the big bass can be a "+", the satelite design also.This time they use a metal cover for satelite wich is good.A tip: you can activate the loudness for the system if you are good with electronics :-). Interesting design.Nice look.Good ideea to put the knobs on the satelite.Strong bass if you have a big room or even a small shop or bar. Treble:because of the design should be diferent.But it is not.With the settings on maximum ,you still have to use the equalizer.In my case i play with winamp equalizer, almost full setting with 12 khz.The middle:interesting design,should work if you have a clean, plane surface.But because of the position,the level is low and also the "colour" is changed.Another problem: I have this one,a hum noise comming from the bass speaker.

Good – I use this to play either itunes through my notebook or hook up to my PS2. I love the sound. The rooom it's in is about 10 m x 4 ms so while it could be louder, there's no distortion at high levels. It did seem louder in the shop. When put through the PS2 GT4 sounds great. I think it was good value for money however next time I'd go for a system which could go louder. It's small enough to be able to take them outside as well so eay to transport. Would be handy if you could somehow put them on a wall. Great sound, nice design Seemed louder in the shop.
