Amazon Kindle Create

Can't login to my Kindle Account – Amazon have obviously changed login procedure. Tonight they wanted me to confirm on my Mobile that it was me logging in. I did but the web page has nowhere to confirm login. Calling their Customer Service is bloody hopeless as their agents do not speak or listen well to English. What a joke Amazon - surely you can do better!!

What's the point of this software. Just use Word or any other free writing program – I have authored a few eBooks which are available on Amazon. Yes, I have an artistic streak and like to communicate my thoughts to the world. When I authored my first book, I kept on reading about Kindle Create, a software that was supposed to make creating an eBook a breeze. Amazon writes: "Beautiful books, every time Professionally designed themes with chapter titles, drop caps and image placement options" and "Kindle Create finds and styles your chapter titles automatically while simultaneously building your table of contents".

I started using Kindle Create in 2018. It is extremely limited, has serious flaws and does not make it a breeze to write an eBook. Following are the issues: 1. Kindle Create creates a .kcb and DOCX version of the eBook. Docx is not updated once the .kcb file is updated. 2. The Chapter Detection feature does not work. Although I have followed the online instructions, when I opened and edited my eBook from 2018 to update it and the contents page, there was nothing there. Also, the software gets upper and lower case mixed. I don't know why. 3. Two years ago, I was told by Amazon/Kindle that a spell-check feature would be added soon. Two years later, I'm still waiting. While the eBook is checked for spelling errors upon upload, the software should have this functionality. 4. One of the most irritating features of this software is that if you put the cursor after the last letter of a word at the end of a sentence, the screen bounces to the previous screen. What? 5. There is no basic copy, paste and replace functionality.

While the latest version of Kindle Create is more stable than the one two years ago, it is a cumbersome software that has too many flaws. Since Kindle accepts docx, I'm going back to word or the other freeware programs that are out there.
