Amazon Kindle Fire (1st Generation)

Kindle Fire Built to last – I have owned a Kindle Fire since they were first released. last Friday I mistakenly left my reader on the bonnet of my car. After driving 5 kms at about 100kms an hour.I heard a large crashing noise on my windscreen. i stopped and when I looked back along the road I could see my Kindle in 3 pieces. I walked up the road picked up the pieces and noticed the screen was not broken. I sat in my car and was able to reassemble my kindle. It now works as good as new with one fine scratch on a corner. Great workmanship and good quality plastics
I love my Kindle Fire – My daughter has a Kindle 3G with keyboard and an iPad 3 but I purchased a Kindle Fire from Local Gadgets in Sydney several months ago and have since bought a second one for a young friend. They are so easy to use and the Amazon Store is great with many excellent Free books but I generally purchase latest releases and occasionally have to wait a few days for their release.
Sure the battery life is not as good as the other Kindles but the backlit screen and colour more than make up for the small inconvenience of plugging in the charger every few days.
Sure I cannot download US magazines and movies unless I use a proxy email address and a US based credit card but that doesn't trouble me at all. The coloured backlit screen and ease of rapid reading Limited battery life
Waste Of Money! – The Kindle Fire is [censored word removed]! It cost me $279- when I got it, I was soo excited but when I realised that the battery life was bad and that I was unable to download apps "because of the area I lived in" so nearly $300- was wasted! It is now sitting in my bedroom being a dust-collector! Expensive, No Recommended To Buy!
