The way Amazon Music is going to introduce 'Amazon Music Unlimited' is pathetic, disgusting. How can a subscription stay in Prime while still having ads? if it is under prime, with amazon prime, it must be ads free.
asking amazon music to play to the everywhere group in alexa absulutly crap, they dont do what is ment to be done and play on all devices, in sted some speakers wont work, they cut in and out skipping coffing when they all should be working end of story. do not go for amazon ecco dots' shows or anything to do with amazon shop elsewhere. hoping… Read more
google nest will work proply, have not tryed yet but ill be sussing out google nest and scrapping amazon compleatlky i think :)
what the hell is this? I'm just on amazon prime. Wanted to check out the music and listen to a song from an album. I found the album but god only knows how to play any of the songs from it. What a piece of trash.
Limited music, confused platform, if I want to listen to an album it keeps intruding with songs I don't want to hear. Waste of money
Scammed, didn't even know what the hell I was being charged for. Don't know why I needed this when I use spotify. If you want to cancel you cant do it on your app or phone. PC or laptop, go to the main page and cancel there.
I'm testing it, and trying to like it because it has Hi Res music plus podcasts (which Tidal doesn't really have), but it just isn't as good as Tidal or Spotify. For a start, under genre, there is no Blues genre. Many other lack-lustre aspects in playing songs plus connecting to a WiFi streaming device (from the Amazon app. It casts only)
Scammed and have been unable to stop the deductions – Similar to others who have posted here, I was conned into trying the service then billed and have not been able to stop the monthly deductions which are now three My bank has said that I would have to cancel my card which would then require me advising all other organisations which get paid off the same card which would be very time consuming. I… Read more
would just like some help as to how to stop the deductions other than cancelling my credit card as being an age pensioner I cannot afford to lose money to these unscrupulous operators.
they can seize to exist and I wouldn't miss em – Absolute scum of a company. Got given an Alexia device and automatically charged for amazon music. Did not choose this option but by virtue of having a card loaded to amazon they felt free to put me on free monthly trial and only knew I was on it when I got the next months charge. Absolute nonsense, corporate scamming and scumballery
A waste of money - avoid – This product has so many issues.... the navigation is appalling, the search function is hopeless, the claimed ability to download to listen offline is so cumbersome that it is not worth the trouble, and the algorithm is very basic and serves up content of no interest. The final straw for me is the preposterous data usage. If you want to use the… Read more
music app on your fire tv there is no way to change the audio quality, so it will stream in ultra HD and cost you around 2gb/hour. If you have a plan with a data limit, beware. One of their representatives told me that if I set audio quality to "data saver" in my the 'my account' page on the pc, that setting would apply on all devices, and that was an outright lie. For a company that does retail so well it is astounding that they have made such a dud product. Avoid.
Appalling – Just want to play a particular song, this stupid app decides it will play something else instead. I seriously question the mentality of making a music app that rarely plays the song you ask for. Do they understand people want to play an actual piece of actual music? How can they possibly imagine that just anything will do? I would have far less… Read more
stress listening to the ordinary radio, and in fact i will in future. Amuses me that amazon keep asking me why don’t i use this garbage nightmare.
Avoid if possible – An utterly useless app that freezes and requires rebooting on an almost daily basis. At one stage my playlist data was mysteriously "lost". It took days being sent from pillar to post via their call center to get it working again. Despite being a Prime member I stll get spammed on the app with the usual Amazon ads. The only reason I signed up… Read more
was because I already had an Amazon account.
I find it mind boggling that a company who is able to hoover up petrabytes of info about their customers on a daily basis cannot get a music streaming app to work properly.
Do not use Amazon music – This is the most atrocious music streaming service out there. You can't play an entire album from start to finish in track order. It just doesn't have the ability, even after you download the album. It randomly plays songs I listened to years ago during shuffled album play. You can't even play your desired song off an album. You can only listen to… Read more
an album in shuffle mode and then it will change to play random songs from other artists and forget about the album you were playing. There is no way to simply reset amazon music to start afresh. It should not be classed as a streaming app because it simply doesn't work. I have the same problems across the android app, the online site and the windows app, so it's not a fault at my end. Back to spotify I go.
Buggy with Android Auto and randomness of songs is too varied from my selection – I can understand that a free account will not allow specific songs to be played, but entering in an artist's name I get a completely random playlist that doesn't even feature the artist I'm trying to listen to. When trying to use the app through Android Auto, it keeps dropping out but not issue with buffering as aother music apps stream fine. I… Read more
wouldn't subscribe to Amazon Music if I can't use it in the car too. Though it's nice having free streaming without being bombarded with ads (though I believe this is about to change), I use other options. I want to like it and have tried to persist with it, but there's better ones out there.

Random Selections – You cannot listen to the song you select without purchasing the premium product, instead you are presented with some random selection. It is a complete waste of time. Don't bother.
Illegal automatic charges with no warning or opt-in/out option – I've been a long time Amazon prime member but never used the music service. Today I received an email saying I had an unused benefit I could try and clicked on the link to amazon music. I was then prompted to select at least 3 favorite artists, which I promptly did. Next thing I'm being prompted whether to accept a family membership for $20.99… Read more
p/month, which I declined. Regardless my credit card was immediately charged the fee! Upon searching the amazon site it seemed I had ordered a subscription to music unlimited, which was not something that had even come up in the process and was not something at any point offered to me previously. I cancelled the "subscription" that I hadn't asked for but can't find any way to request a refund or contact anyone at amazon, following the links for support just takes you in an endless loop where your issue is never addressed. I'm pretty sure they are acting in contravention of Australian consumer law and I find their behavior to be criminal. They must be making millions with this kind of rubbish.
Hijacked – I have an Amazon Prime account which includes free Amazon Music Prime, when logging in I received a message asked if I wanted to join Amazon Music unlimited family at a discounted rate. I declined the offer, next thing I found I was signed up for Music unlimited without any consent! I immediately cancelled the account and received a message… Read more
stating that my account would be closed at the end of the billing period as I had already been charged $12.99 for the service. I contacted support and complained, after some discussion they agreed to reimburse the money but this is not normal policy. This cannot be legal to just take your money without any approval or consent. There was no notice given at any time for this purchase or any terms or conditions agreed to.
Stealing millions of dollars! – I got unauthorised charges 3 times! $11.99 each I asked them why? I never signed up for prime music, They said when I was listening to music with the shuffle mode there was a few songs that wasn't free and the system automatically signed me up for prime music! they even read the song names! (Now please keep that in your mind the shuffle mode is… Read more
advertised as the free mode) so that means the free mode randomly playing a none free song and then they sign you up to prime music to charge you! I can imagine how many people don't know they getting charges without even your permission, I'm sure this is stealing not their system fault. Here are the steps on how to get your money back and never get charges again: #1 you have to contact them and explain the unauthorised charges. #2 ask for refund. #3 ask them to stop the monthly renewal. #4 check your emails to see the confirmation #5 DELETE THE APP
Amazon Fail – I'm a fan of Prime membership as has great Podcasts, Movies, Documentaries, and shopping. Items purchased get fast and often free delivery for Amazon purchases, including Internationally. So far so good... The delivery speed excellent and often is same day, even on weekends! -:) BUT the music streaming online using my Mac Computer is… Read more
disappointing... The song stops and the application shows it is playing. No sound, but VU icon shows movement. It's a "random" event that happens 99% within 10 minutes. Sometimes you only hear 1 song before it stops! I tried all sorts of settings changes to fix... Fail. I have 2 Mac computers and it happens on both, so it's not a local issue, no it's global and generic to the service. I'm not alone in this experience, see Reddit. Lots of others have tried Amazon Tech Support - deleting cache, changing configurations, hard restarts etc... But all these tried and tested procedures don't resolve the issue. Frustrating and surprising given the fact that the company has global market domination and access to the very best talent to solve this issue.
Was once a great free service. Recent update has destroyed it – Was once a great free service. They recently added around 98 million additional tracks and added an unavoidable shuffle feature. Ask it to play songs by XX, Alexa then says "Playing songs by XX and similar artists" then plays mostly songs by bands you have no interest in. The update has destroyed the service. They need to remove the shuffle… Read more
feature and remove the "songs by similar artist" feature, otherwise they will lose listeners by the millions... Their attempt to make this free listener move to Amazon Music Unlimited has failed. I already pay for Prime, and in this day and age can't afford all these subscription services. I'll be using Spotify in protest from now, I don't care about their ads.
Amazon use deceitful tactics for their Unlimited Music $11.99 a month – I am happy with Amazon Music that comes with the Prime subscription. It is a pain to have to continually click on continue listening but I am happy to do it as I consider it part of their $6.99 a month for free delivery, Prime Video and Amazon Music. I downloaded their music app to phone and it was good. Come to use it today and I clicked on… Read more
listen to music and the next thing I am signed up for their Unlimited Package. I did not want this and quickly cancelled it. At no stage was I warned that I was signing up for this. Money taken immediately from my credit card. So to balance the books I cancelled a couple of subscriptions that I can live without. Any more of this deceitful carry on, I will cancel it all.
Disappointing value and missing basic features – I recently started a free trial for Amazon Music Unlimited and initially found some aspects enjoyable, particularly the good playlists (but not great) and a good selection of songs. However, my initial positive impression has quickly faded due to several major disappointments. It's so frustrating to discover that there is no annual subscription… Read more
option available in Australia, unlike in other countries (like the US). This forces users into a more expensive monthly commitment, which feels like a significant oversight. Perhaps even more concerning, there's a glaring lack of any discount for Amazon Prime members. Given that Prime membership already offers other benefits, it's illogical and frankly, a bit insulting, that there's no price incentive for existing Prime subscribers to upgrade to Amazon Music Unlimited. What's the point of Amazon having a premium music service, and not having any benefits for already being a Prime member?
Furthermore, the user experience for discovering new music is severely lacking. It's almost impossible to find public playlists created by other Amazon Music users; you're largely limited to the automated playlists generated by Amazon. Frankly, these often feel like they are created with AI – they just use the most popular mainstream songs, offering nothing in between or any real depth. This makes it incredibly difficult to explore diverse music tastes and truly connect with the platform.
Finally, and perhaps a small but surprisingly annoying omission, you are unable to add custom cover photos to your own playlists that you have created. This seems like a very basic and standard customization feature that is strangely missing from the service, making your personal music library feel less tailored. Overall, the pricing, the absence of a yearly plan and Prime member discount, the poor discoverability of user-generated content, and the lack of basic customization like playlist cover photos make Amazon Music Unlimited a very poor value proposition and a frustrating experience in Australia.
I'm genuinely disappointed with these limitations and the overall service.
Totally $hit service – I have had an amazon prime account for 12 months now. I use my subscription to listen to music (via my sonos) only. I very rarely use it for movies. My service recently dropped out and I have had two IT specialists come out to reconnect it. They both said that it is an issue at Amazons end....all of my settings and connectivity are fine. I have… Read more
complained to amazon. Each time I ring, I get a different person in an Indian call centre. No matter how much i beg and plead, they will not connect me to their team leader/ supervisor. I cannot understand how it takes over a week to check their technical issues. They cannot tell me if it will be next week, next month or next year when my issue is looked at..

Huge Variety – I've been able to find every song and artist I've searched for. There's a massive range of music from the oldies to the now. A great range of genres to choose from. It's a great price and is easy to use and has everything that I need for a great music experience
Cannot use a gift card – I have been using a music unlimited subscription for a long time, debited from a card. I bought an amazon gift card, credit went in ok. It was then i discovered they will not accept a gift card for music subscription payment. Had a chat with them and was told amazon only accepts a credit card or debit card for music. Another thing is that stupid Klarna, avoid that thing when buying from amazon shopping it is as bad as hummmm.
Has potential but!!!!!!!!! – I had a subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited, a pay by the month service, however, During a song, it would pause and suggest you play the song of the day. I tried everything to stop this I sent Amazon AU a complaint, no response I searched endlessly the FAQ no luck I checked the internet, many complaints about Amazon pausing on Sonos but no… Read more
fix to stop it pausing to suggest playing song of the day, at times it would pause one song three times to suggest song of the day. I canceled the subscription, which is a pity because the opportunity to have lyric is great if you want to sing along. Don't subscribe to Amazon Music unlimited until they fix this
