I wish I had read the reviews before paying $15,800 for what has been an extremely disappointing and distressing experience. The sales process was seamless. Jon Clark was personable, convincing and responsive, and we signed up immediately. Unfortunately, everything after payment has been a disaster. During installation, our security cameras and… Read more

clothesline were damaged. While mess and disruption can happen during works, the mess left behind was unacceptable. More concerning, however, is that the new zoned air-conditioning system does not cool our home properly. In fact, our old evaporative system cooled the house far better, which is unacceptable given the cost and promises made.

When the system fails to perform—particularly during hot weather—the advice provided has repeatedly been to “reset the system”. This is not a solution. When you are sweating in your own home and a premium system does not function as advertised, there is a serious issue.

Ambience Air appears to contract out installers and electricians, and once payment is taken, responsibility and accountability are effectively deflected. This leaves the customer stuck between contractors with no clear ownership of the problem.

As a result, I will be lodging a formal complaint with Consumer Protection and requesting an independent inspection of the installation and electrical safety in our home. The way this has been handled raises serious concerns regarding compliance with Australian Consumer Law.

I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to do thorough research and read reviews carefully before committing, better still just completely avoid this company all together. They should not be operating like this.

This company doesn’t have bad service. It has NO service at all! I’m convinced that its business model is to do an installation, and then avoid having anything further to with it. Ambience Air was contracted by my new house builder to install a fully ducted Samsung system. The installation warranty requires me to have a general service within the… Read more

first two years, and I decided it would be best to have this done during the usually quiet winter period. My first call to them was on 18 June this year, 2025. I called several times, but each time I was put on hold and eventually told to leave a message. As no-one called back, I repeated the process the following day. No response. A week later I tried again, eventually getting through to a man who said “the ladies who handle this are away, but will be back next week. I will create a ticket and they will call you next week”. A week later, I try again. After several attempts, the same man answers, and expresses surprise that no-one has called, because he has indeed “created a ticket” and “someone will call me back very soon, the same afternoon”. But no-one calls. A day later however I do receive an email setting out the service to be carried out, and a ticket number, asking when would be suitable. I answer that email to give them a broad choice of days and times. After another week, I received a call, which I missed but called back 20 mins later, only to go through the usual procedure. I left a message to say just let me know when you can come and I’ll do my best to make sure it’s ok. By then it’s 9 July, it’s 3 weeks since I started the process. So I called another company, Total Air, who answered my call within half a minute, and arranged to send someone within 3 days (they did offer the following day). Total Air carried out the service and assured me that the Samsung warranty was in place – but the installation warranty was still Ambience Air’s responsibility. I can strongly recommend Total Air, by the way. It’s now 5 weeks since I started the process and I still have nothing from Ambience Air. What if it was summer and there was a breakdown?? And the installation warranty is worthless. This is not an isolated one-time mix-up either. A few months after I moved in, there was in fact a complete failure, in summer, and I went through pretty much the same procedure. I asked my builder for help, but he wasn’t able to do anything. They also want you to go online and fill in forms – I guess that’s also designed to slow down the process (or get rid of you). Luckily I also had them install an evaporative system, so that I have a dual refrigerated/evap system, so survived the few weeks they took to sort out a very simple issue. The evaporative system also developed a problem, and with that they simply told me to contact Seeley (who arranged for another company to come and sort it out). So, in summary, if you get Ambience to install your system, be prepared for the fact that you will get NO service at all if anything goes wrong. I strongly recommend you go elsewhere, and if you are building a new house, make sure your builder uses a different contractor. I don’t think I’ve ever come across an outfit as bad as Ambience.

Air con was installed in March 2025 and cost $15000. To start with I needed to pay extra because I wanted an extended interest fee period, I wasn’t aware of this initially, and had already agreed to their product. I also took the advice of the sales guy and reduced the size from 15kw to 12.5kw as I was told it would be too noisy. My house is now… Read more

not sufficiently cooled or heated having a dead spot in the passageway that is freezing.

On top of this at the time of installation I asked for an output to be installed in the passageway and was told it was not possible (not true).

From completion there was a ticking noise this I videoed and sent to them and they reported back, there was nothing wrong with it.

Last month we had the bouncing ball sound which was too loud to sleep with and had to have the RC fuse removed to stop the noise.

They came and fixed both noise issues but In the process of fixing these they have disconnected my master bedroom completely. I contacted them again, they still keep telling me it’s fixed. (Obviously they are not freezing at night.) I asked them to sort it last week as it was my last week of holidays and my availability from this week would be only after 4:30.

The response today was let me know when you are available between 8:30 and 3:30.

Honestly I am so over Ambience Air they were good 20 years ago when I used them, but not now.

Honestly I can’t take more time off for them to mess me around and ignore me.

So maybe they Might help me or maybe I go to consumer affairs IDK at this stage.

Ambience Air installed a ducted air conditioning system into our home some years ago and we have had no operational issues with it since. However we have since put our home up for sale and the potential Buyer had a Building and Structural Inspection carried out (as is his right under the Contract for Sale). The inspector discovered that one of the… Read more

structural elements of the roof (a collar tie) had been removed to facilitate the installation of the AC unit in the roof space, see photos. Collar ties are an integral part of the design of a roof structure This structural element was not replaced at the time of the installation rendering the roof structurally unsound. This act is not only an unsafe work practice but is also unprofessional. When this problem came to light we brought it to the attention of Ambience Air and asked them to make good their shortcomings by replacing the collar tie as this constituted a 'Major Structural Defect' under the Contract of Sale and as such would prevent the sale of the property going through if not rectified.

Ambience Air refused to replace the collar tie claiming that it must have been removed by others at a later date. This excuse does not stand up to scrutiny especially given that the AC unit could not have been installed without removing the collar tie and the fact that the section of the collar tie that was removed lay underneath the flexible ducting that Ambience Air installed and the cabling to the unit, see photo.

In addition to removing the collar tie Ambience Air also snapped one of the roof battens that support the roof tiles when carrying out the installation, see photo. This roof batten was not repaired or replaced. This resulted in a very real risk of someone falling through the roof if they walked across it for whatever reason

In short Ambience Air has demonstrated that it carries out work in an unsafe manner, it is unprofessional, it does not accept responsibility for their actions and their customer and after sales service leaves a lot to be desired especially given that their corporate mission statement is "being a business based on outstanding customer service with an absolute commitment to your customers".

A bunch of liars – The experiences with Ambience Air were not very positive: - They installed the outdoor unit to the wrong location and this affected the performance badly. Last year, it stopped cooling air from 38C+ (1 month of summer). I reported immediately but they ignored. - The system/sensor did not work properly. I reported the issue but they also ignored.… Read more

- Then 6 months later, they chose to lie about the performance issue all the way to the end including the salesman, the sales assistant, the after sales support team, the managers, the operations manager. - Until now they still confirmed that "there are no performance issues related to the installation or the location of the outdoor unit", while they got the reports from the warranty company and the manufacturer, which said that the outdoor unit should be relocated to a better location, but they still refuse to do. - Besides, there were other issues: bad installation quality, wrong information about controllers, wrong recommendations about sensors and sent a salesman to the roof to do the wiring and ended up doing it wrongly! - After 1 year, no apologies received, the issues remain. I informed them to check but they continued to ignore. - Dealing with them was a nightmare and I wish I had chosen another company for this easy job. - I feel like throwing $15,000 out of the window!

I do not recommend this company to anyone.

Poor Installation & Failed To Find Fault BEWARE OF AMBIENCE AIR – I purchased a Breezair Evaporative Air-conditioner from Ambience Air 11 years ago in Falcon Western Australia and there were problems noted before the installation was complete (failed to install the correct sized ducts) with the problem being rectified on the 3rd attempt. Approximately 2 years after the install I noticed water marks on the… Read more

ceiling and had it checked out by a roof tiler. The roof tiler stated that the tiling was fine and in his opinion, the problem is with the air conditioner. Ambience Air sent out a service technician who tested the unit and said it was fine and the water damage in his opinion was cause by a fault with the tiling. Over the next few years the stain developed and a hole caused by water appeared in the ceiling and I had the roof tiler as well as Ambience Air check for the cause of the water damage again. They both repeated their earlier diagnosis and nothing was done as both denied the fault was not with them. The hole in the ceiling got bigger over time and I again repeated the above process telling Ambience Air and the roof tiler that I wanted the problem fixed. They both pointed the cause of the leak as mentioned above with Ambience Air continuing to state the cause was not the air conditioner. The ceiling eventually collapsed dropping onto the kitchen floor and the cause was identified by the tiler who observed water running down the water inlet and outlet pipes/hoses through the plastic corflu flashing. I called Ambience Air and they sent out 3 repair technicians who quantified the leak and put silicon roof and gutter sealant around the pipes to stop the leak. I had the roof tiler check the repair work and in was advised to have the work checked by independent technician as in his opinion, the repair work did not look up to scratch and the roof plumbing did not look correct. I engaged an independent technetium from an Air Conditioner repair business who tested the repair work by spraying water onto the flashing. The outcome of this was that water was still running into the ceiling running down the water inlet and outlet pipes, though nowhere near as bad as it was. The independent technician informed me that "the water inlet hose was cut too short leading to the pipe exiting the flashing too close to the water outlet pipe with an insufficient gap between them causing the plastic flashing to weaken. (He also pointed out to where the original hole for the water inlet hose was cut and filled in - see picture). The water inlet hose was braced too far away from where it exited the roof cavity and that every time the water dumped water banging placed stress where it exited the flashing causing the seal of the silicon to fail". He advised me to decommission the unit until the faulty installation had been rectified with the following works needing to be carried out: - Water inlet pipe to be replaced with a longer length pipe - Water inlet pipe to be secured in roof cavity with a bracket close to where it goes through flashing - Damaged flashing to be replaced (2-3 hours labour) Ambiance Air have refused to carry out the repair work stating words to the affect "It is out of warranty ----- the only record they have of a problem is the incorrect size ducting when installing" Seeley International have been good in trying to resolve the issue by assisting me with enquiries by stated words to the affect that Ambiance Air are ignoring their enquiries. I also note that the service technician they sent to look for the leak was not a roof plumber, he was an electrician. The RCD that he used when the unit was installed was a cheap 15 year old RCD which failed and I had it replaced with a new quality Clipsal RCD by a local competent electrician. (Note Picture). I received the following response from Ambience Air, did contact them as invited, but did not recieve a happy to help response, just an out of warranty cold shoulder even though the fault was lodged well within warranty. "Response from the owner The latest installation we have for you is back from 2012 with no records of servicing the unit. Though if you’d like to discuss further please email our after sales team and we will be happy to help: aftersales@ambienceair.com.au Ambience Air Customer Care Team" I note that Breezair are a good air conditioner and the fault lays with the installation and failure to diagnose and rectify the fault. It may have helped if they took my complaint seriously in first instance and sent out a roof plumber to diagnose the fault, not an electrician. BEWARE

On the day of installation, I had someone by the name Jan and two of his assistant boys. They removed my evaporative unit and installed the new unit with all new ducting (used the same outlet for vents but they put in new vents). Jan was so nice that he even helped me get a part of the evaporative unit (sump unit) before discarding the unit as someone had asked for it. Jan and his assistants worked non stop from about 8 am till about 2 pm and finished all of the work. Jan was happy on my request to go upto the roof one last time to check if the tiles that were put in place for the evaporative unit were all good to go and didn't have to worry about any leaks etc. So far I am happy with the product and looking forward to get some nice cooling during summers. I would recommend this company.

several days of sweltering and they sent a tech out to check the unit. He checked our unit told us we were operating the system incorrectly and advised that unit works beautifully. At 7 am in the morning he advised that the unit was fine and if there was any fault it is in the roof with the ducting. Works fantastic everyday at 7am. Next day over 37 degrees and we are sweltering. We operated the system exactly how the tech instructed us to. Ambience air contacted they advised the system was working perfectly. I advised 30 degrees inside with air con on, is not working at all. They advised that they had been told that the job was fixed. I advised that all that was established was that the unit works and that there is likely to be a fault in the roof as pointed out by their tech. Several weeks with temps maily over 40 and we still have no air conditioning. SO DISAPPOINTED

On the 15th of January I put my first complaint issue in and then on the 2nd of February we put another 2 and up till now we have had no one come out to look at this situation. Ambience Air were great till they got their money, and they don't want to know you at all. I would definitely NOT recommend them at all.
