apparently we have been ‘drive-offs’ three times! Thats 94% success rate. But drive-offs? Why do we keep going back there if we are drive-offs? Perhaps its your app? We visited a different supplier in Easter holidays and THEY told us about 3 driveoffs. Over 14 months. And no-one had told us. They gave us a URL to check and since February last year we are up for $60 in petrol and $120 in fees. No-one contacted us after the first one. Or the second one. And it was NOT an Ampol store the third time… So $120 in penaties for $60 worth of petrol — for failure of your app, I think, and no-one told us? Are you trying to maximise the penalty fees you collect? I am not prepared to pay $120 fees under these circumstances. Could you kindly: 1. Waive the penalty fees and allow me to pay the three outstandings 2. Investigate the FuelPay app for intermittent confirmation failures (see other ProductReview comments for further evidence) 3. Implement urgently a notification process so customers are alerted promptly when a payment isnt settled — not months and months later with compounding fees

Id appreciate a response within 14 days. ====== Please note our complaint (1 star rating) is with the FuelPay system; we still like our local Ampol stations (5 stars, usually) and want to keep using them, if possible.

I paid for a car wash at Cleveland AMPOL which I didn't use straight away as it was busy. I went back about 2 weeks later and it was busy again. It then rained heaps and I didn't need it. days and they were very rude and said the voucher says 30 days. Whilst this is true, it is also not legal. I discussed immediately with Qld office of fair trade (OFT) who explained that in most cases a gift card or voucher has a validity of 2-3 years. I even got the manager in the Ampol to talk to the OFT, however the manager talked over the top of the OFT person and would not listen, saying they had been in retail for 19 years and knows what they're talking about. I am flabbergasted by people's ignorance and refusal to listen, whilst being rude in equal measure. The person at Ampol deserves a Dunning-Kruger award.

OK, apparently there was no sign in the store saying which products do not accept Ampol Cash, and the cashier also did not even know which products in the store could be bought by Ampol Cash.

Nice casher, btw, he called Ampol IT service for me as he had no idea like me.

Because of Ampol policy, Ampol gift cards purchased through 3rd platform can't be refund once they are activated (of course they were activated, I used them to pay and got rejected), amazing!

The response I got from Ampol service was: Sorry, can't refund, and there was no need to let cashier or customers know which products accept Ampol cash and which don't.

Got fuel at Ampol Service Station in Earl Street Kew 3101. I presented a $5 bill that supposedly was damaged. I had to look 3 times to notice a small 2mm split in centre (NO hole). I gave him. He finally took the note and refused to give me a receipt when I asked for it. He then told me twice not to come back. This is disgusting behaviour. I lodged a complaint and asked to have this investigated thoroughly. Received a generic reply with no evidence of action taken and NO reference to the insulting behaviour by the operator. Since then I have not returned and have taken my business elsewhere. In addition I have also recommended to family and friends the same. Keep employing these people and the Australian way will disappear for good.

No customer service from Ampol Fuel Card customer service number – I call the ‘Ampol Customer Service’ number on the back of my Ampol Fuel Card, 1300 365 096 listen to the automated menu, only to be told that the number I’ve dialled is not in service????? I call the myAmpol Support number listed on the website 1300 662 669 and they are unable to take my call and transfer me straight to a message service, where I can only leave my contact number. All this at 11:30am on a Monday Very disappointing service

Rounding error – Ampol service station roundup the cost to next whole cent regardless of the third decimal digit. One would think that Ampol would be decent enough to round the cent to the nearest whole cent CORRECTLY. I bought 5.14L of fuel from Ampol for $1.689/L. The cost should be (if you use your calculator) $8.68146 and using the conventional rounding rule, it should be rounded down to $8.68. Ampol charged me $8.69.

with no daily electricity usage record. However, the cheaper tariffs justify the lack of functionality for me.

I have used the app at the local Ampol Foodary, and it mostly works fine. The process, after I fill up and open the app is: it automatically detects the petrol station; I tap the number of the pump I have used; it shows an invoice; I check it with the pump reading; I tap the Fuelpay function; it pays using my linked credit card; and it emails me the invoice/receipt. No need to bother the cashier - their screen records the amount as paid.

If the app doesn't provide a pump number option for some reason (and it doesn't work every time), then I go into the cashier and pay using a QR code in the app.

The 10c/lt discount on 1,500lt pa that Ampol offers electricity customers (which is automatically deducted in calculating the amount due) often brings the price below competitors, although it still pays to check.

Notwithstanding the above, there is one issue: although the app is linked to my Woolworths Rewards card, it does not recognise when a 4c/lt Rewards discount is available. It will only apply the 10c/lt Ampol discount.

There is a solution (as above) - go into the cashier, scan the Rewards card, and pay using the QR code in the app. That will deduct both discounts to provide 14c/lt in total.

I have confirmed that the Rewards card link in the Ampol app automatically picks up Rewards offers for spending at Foodary, and updates my Rewards points. Clearly, the Ampol app can update Rewards, but Rewards cannot update the Ampol app.

I have raised this issue with Ampol, because it should be explained on their website. They must have many electricity customers who have Woolworths Rewards cards.

First, they denied that a combination of both discounts is available, and then, when pressed further, they acknowledged that they are available but only by scanning the Rewards card. No apologies; no offer to reimburse the missing discounts prior to me working this out; and seemingly no intent to explain to other customers.

So, in summary, a great electricity offer providing significant relief from some of the outrageous tariffs I was paying previously. Subject, of course, to the charges increasing at any time.

Their fuel offer is a bonus, and easy enough to obtain through the app, but Fuelpay contains an undisclosed trap for Woolworths Rewards members wishing to use their 4c/lt discount. Over to Ampol to address this.

their response was that it was permitted under the agreement. Even after I explained that their agreement didn’t permit them to just charge whatever they wanted they still wouldn’t agree to fix the bill to reflect actual usage. So I’ve lodged a complaint with the ombudsman and have told my dad not to pay the bill (he is on the pension so can’t afford it anyway). They also failed to apply his pension rebate.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst electricity supplier. Failed to let me know they cancelled my policy twice on me which resulted in my power being disconnected more than once. occasions and they have nothing to say about it either. No response at all. Not worth the $350 you would save! Go with a better electricity supplier!!!! Worth the money to be looked after properly!!! It doesn’t take a genius to call the customer or email to notify!

New ampol customer for less than 2 months. First they rug pulled the 10c/L fuel benefit that came with the plan, now they've rug pulled the flat rate electricity, meaning my electricity is up to 32% more expensive. Took away the two primary reasons for me going with ampol in the first place.

night. So much for customer service. The whole month i had been chasing them up to rectify the issue of the initial meter reading being unaccessible due to some strata issues. Only do i find out they need the initial reading otherwise i cannot use their service. Well why didnt they stipulate that in their contracts or the 7 phone calls ive had with them in the last month. I explained time after time the issue, even discussed with Ausgrid. Its Ampol Energy who is the issue. Their customer service and resolutions are a joke. Dont waste your time signing up. Plus after signing up one week later i receive an email saying the 10 cent fuel discount will go in a year so theres no perks to stay with them anyways.

dropping their fuel discount as well in a year, they just got bought out by AGL. I actually do wonder if they were a bit of a scam because these bills are exceptionally higher then they should have been in my opinion. I transferred away from them today and am curious to see what they try and do with that, fingers crossed no dramas but i wont hold my breath. My suggestion is look at the fine print and really inspect your bills. Don’t setup direct debit so you have some sort of control over things if they do wrong by you

Be aware their self service sites will take you money for at least a week before refunding. If you enquire about it they will lie saying it's your bank holding your money. Infact it is CBA their terrible service. Tiny operators like TAS Petroleum can get self-service right in Tassie (immediate money reversal) Ampol has no excuse for stealing… Read more

people's money, it's their business choice to use poor services like CBA and then leave their customers out of pocket many 100s if you have a sizable tank. Whatever clown at Ampol brought this was acceptable retail behaviour should be fired

Monthly bills are a pain - always had 3 monthly bills before and all other utility bills are 3 monthly. Why isn't there a 3 monthly option? Also 10c a litre fuel discount offer is dodgy as app can be problematic and doesn't always deliver.

Watch your final bill if changing over to another supplier. I received mine and they estimated the final usage instead of sending Energex to read the meter. The usage was way out in the favour, inflating the bill. Rung to remedy the issue and they made it painful to get it sorted. Like to make out that you are lying. I'm happy to pay the correct amount, not their estimated amount.

the worst service – So I use Ampol Energy, I have no idea what they are doing, I have 2 metres one not connected one is They are reading ridiculous amounts of electricity, no service from the Internet phone people, service is bad , no idea what they are doing , Slow Customer response just bad service, oh and no 10 cents fuel reduction any more But that was a con as they were 10 cents more than everyone also

First bad experience at risdon rd servo – The older staff will blatantly try and rip you off, the younger people are good staff but the old female is a liar and a theif! Do not trust the older store people at that workplace!

Don't use them – Disgusting customer service. Took over a month to get my business account and then they tell me I can't have the bonus points when they new from the beginning it was the only reason i applied. Should be ashamed this company.

been overcharged by $10. When I returned to the cashier to address the issue, he was already holding out the $10 to return to me, claiming he had mistakenly thought I was using a different pump—though no other car was there. It’s clear he had tried to shortchange me, and I wonder how many others might have been affected throughout the day. Please be sure to double-check the amount on the pump .Before going to pay as I was reading the reviews and seems like it has happened to other customers.
