Excellent service, never had a problem – Have been using Andrews Communication for over 6 years and never had a problem, alway has the ham gear you need and shipping arrives in 1-2 days excellent service, Why so much negativity? This is my go to store - keep up the good work guys.

Service – I've never had a problem with Andrews Communications in 32 years always friendly to me and never a problem. If Sea Doo did the same I'd be very happy there is good and bad stuff in everything. The only stuff I won't by is new release radios because they usually haven't worked out the bugs yet I'll be interested in the Yaesu FTDX101MP when I get it to see how the quality is. Show reply

Unprofessional. Extremely rude. Should not be in business – First visit looking for a pair of binoculars. Purchased a pair after looking through a few. But when I got home noticed what looked like a foreign object on the inside of one eyepiece lens which would not initially go away so I phoned them and a very unfriendly salesperson said bring it back and we will give you your money back. them to say bring it back and they will have a look at the problem or swap it for another of the same - so rude - after some time the foreign object dislodged itself - glad I did not have to complain in person as their attitude over the phone was bad enough. I wonder how they would treat a customer who had a serious equipment problem. Then some time later I went back to have a look through some telescopes that I was intending to purchase with the help of Luke but when Lee saw me he basically marched me out the front door saying don't come back and closed the shop door behind me. I was astounded. I had travelled so far to get there. Never been the subject of such rudeness before. When I phoned the store basically asking why I was treated so rudely, I was told that I was too fussy - well if you are intending to spend some hundreds of dollars I think you have the right to be fussy. With such an attitude to customers he should not be in business. Anyway I am glad I am banned from shopping there. That rude sort of customer service puts a nasty taste in your mouth. I was initially attracted by their cheaper price but when it comes with such bad and rude service it is better and less stressful to shop elsewhere where you are treated with professional help and politeness and you can discuss any equipment problems in a civilised and helpful manner - these sort of businesses are not hard to find - for instance, Bintel is just the opposite and also more convenient for me - helpful, knowledgeable staff - no pressure - with a have a think about it type of attitude - huge showroom with a good view where you can test binoculars and scopes. Also Bintel offers the manufacturer's Australian warranty. Be warned about Andrews warranty - it is not backed by the Australian distributor for one brand as Andrews gets their supply elsewhere - that is how they can advertise a cheaper price for one equipment manufacturer that I know of or at least it was the last time I checked and you will read the same comments online and it was verified by the Australian distributor of that brand when I asked them - it is better to pay a bit more knowing you are backed by the Australian distributor's warranty. Lee might treat a customer one day in a similar rude manner to the way he treated me and that customer might respond in a not so friendly manner if it has not happened already. I am not prepared to put my real name in case I received repercussions from that unfriendly Andrews business.

Excellent service from Lee – Lee spent all morning email me back and forth providing advice on antennas. Considering this isn't the sale of the century (a little antenna HI!), I was amazed how much time & advice I was given. This is so helpful for a new ham just starting out. Highly recommend these guys! No idea how these other reviews came to be.... But my experience was very different. Show reply

Good service from Cameron, but – The pre-sales service from Cameron was excellent. I got what I needed but it took a bit of work but that was mostly to do with COVID. Lee nearly screwed up the deal by being his normal prickly self... terrible to deal with. If you need more evidence of that just look at the wording of some of his "news" updates on their web site. Had an issue with the power supply I purchased and emailed them. Have never had a reply. Sorted it locally.

Buyer beware! – Completely stuffed up my order, said if I sent everything back they would fix it, then they reneged on that deal and made a new deal that they would refund the labour. Now they are not answering any emails. As a newly licenced operator they have lost a lot of coin that I am sending to their competitors while I set up my shack.

Great service and products – I've dealt with these guys on a few occasions and every time they lived up to the expectation. After sales service is also top notch. I find their prices are quite competitive too

False advertising – Andrews advertised a particular item on their web page as available now. Phoned to make a purchase and was told six weeks delay for delivery. Not impressed. They lost a sale and gained bad reviews! I purchased from another local (Australian) supplier and the goods arrived in four days.

Great to deal with. Simple no fuss experience – I am a Ham Radio Operator. I purchased FTDX3000, power supply and power meter. All arrived in short order and well packed. There are some disparinging reviews here but I can simply say that I had a great experience. Price was great and so was the service from Cameron. The transceiver is definitely not a grey import or refurbished. I will purchase again from Andrews.

Very RUDE and Resistant to Warranty Claims – My Telescope arrived with a dent in it, however it was the rude manner in which I was dealt with by Lee that I found to be a disgrace. I also had issues with a pair of binoculars which also resulted in being dealt with in a disgusting manner. If you value your money and respect yourself, I highly recommend paying extra and buying else where. It's not worth the savings buying from Andrews Communications.

I've tried to use these guys quite a few times, most of the times I seem to get the impression im interrupting something they think is more important than their customer base, sometimes their comments to questions are bordering on rudeness, not all that impressed ! I'm beginning to wonder if they realise they have opposition.

Grey Market Products-No Manufacturer's Guaranty – I never purchase from this company again. I found out that most of the products they sell are of the "Grey Market" and do not carry the original manufacturer's guaranty. If something goes wrong you are at the mercy of the dealer. is requested. Think twice before you purchase it easy to save a Dollar, but not easy to get the service one expects. HAMs know about this! Interesting is that the genuine sellers and importer of HAM radios and transceivers are no more expensive but give the full-service one expects. When I purchased by accident a second of the same Alinco transceivers and wanted to send it back for a refund I was asked to pay a restocking fee of 20% or more. If I go to any of the retailers I get a full refund. The company lost me as a customer and in future, I will purchase my HAM transceivers at Strictly HAM in Melbourne. At least I get there what I want and not of some Grey Market import products that are NOT backed up by the local manufacturer's company or their official agent. In case one is not satisfied and chooses another product one gets the full refund on the newly selected item. Again I have to advice: "Think twice before you purchase".

Gee Thanks for the details on this company...Just about to purchase from them....Will not now – Funny, I had a feeling about this, I tried to do some business with this company some 10 years ago and at the time gave up in desperation at no return call, no answer to emails etc etc... after reading the reviews I see I’m not alone... just about to try and do another deal but, had an idea that I could remember something that turned me off in the past... it’s all coming back...

Great service - will buy from them again – This was my second purchase from Andrews Communications - I purchased a number of antenna components including a side entry base for my 2m mobile antenna. The base ended up being a little short on the thread after installing it on my aluminium bull bar so I contacted them and asked for help. owner on how it could be rectified with some additional metal work plus another email from their sales person advising they could send another base that was slightly longer. 2 days later I had a new base base even before I sent the old one back. This was a lot of effort to keep a customer happy over a $15 product - this is what I call good old fashioned service! I will certainly be buying from Andrews again. BTW I have found their prices competitive!

Pricing is not comepatative – No price match avilable. Big difference in pricing compared to other online retailers . Restock fees is applied on change of mind Will not recommend. Not happy with the business done.

Fantastic service – Been buying from lee since i started with Cb's in the 80s Never had one problem.. always happy to help. I bought an antenna last year but wasn't happy and was refunded fully... great service from his team.. unfortunately slander from his shop is due to his competition in Melbourne..

Then I got their email telling me, that the model of transceiver I m looking for might be too complicated and they have issues with my husband long time ago and better not to do business with him..So cheap and nasty comment coming from a communication business entity..I have nothing to do with problems that happened many years ago between them or myhusbnd or anyonelse, I am my own person, I have the licence to buy, I know the rule...Very unprofessional, rudeness and disrespectfull attitude, the sarcasm in the tone of their email insulting someone is unbelievable considering the owner and his sales team must all be licensed people in their chosen field.

20 x 80 Triplet Bino – I'm in New Zealand. Andrews sent me a defect coating. It's clearly apparent. I returned it but lost money for PP (Sydney - NZ) + return from NZ - Sydney. Whn I complained over the phone he replied, "Yeah, yeah. Have you finished (talking)?"

Slow to update stock levels especially used items – For the third time since September 2017 I've attempted to purchase from their used equipment page to find the item wasn't available any longer. The disappointing part is having to chase the order up myself to find out, very poor customer service. Will go back to using other online sources.

they wrote up the hand written sales docket. I wish in hindsight that i just picked up my money and walked back out. But because i waited so long for this radio, and well, its was there right in front of me... i ‘ignored’ there comnents.. but it still irks me when i think about it. I woukd not even buy a wet paper bag from them even. Unfortunatly there arnt many dealers within Australia.

30 years of ecellent service – I've dealt with the company for over 30 years andLee and the staff are world class ,I would say those attacking Andrews are either liars or from another firm. I have had problems with some products but never had aproblem being repared even with some out of warranty fixed for nothing

Rubbish – They dont treat customers well.My atas antenna under warranty 4 months old got an issue and they cant fix it...they returned it to me with missing parts and say to me see you in court .they meant if i complain in consumers fare trade,why would i do that...All i want is to get fix my antenna coz its still under warranty. Maybe because im an asian guy ,thats why they treat me like that...those people especially the owner no good.

Good service – Radio arrived in good time, securely packed, all accessories supplied plus bonus avair power meter. Unit had to back for hardware mod whilst under wtty this done very quickly. All in all good and friendly service

Took the time to help the customer – Phoned up to buy a dual band antenna for a Yaesu hand held. Got a friendly reply and he was very familar with the range of products and recommended a popular seller and told me of the feedback from other amateur radio users I settled on one budget but proven unit, arranged payment and it arrived in a few days. [Sydney to Brisbane]. ....Fitted and worked fine ....got what i wanted at a good price.

Never In My Life Have I Ever – Unbelievably rude service. Spent $700 and called them back regarding a question. Unbelievable response by [name removed] (the owner). In over 50 years, I've never been treated like that as a customer. Stay WELL CLEAR!!!

But when a business says there is going to be a 2 week wait, its insulting to ring them up after the time expires and get an answering machine saying they are all overseas on a business trip. When they got back they said that they had known about the delay before they had left but didn't think to contact me. Once told of the error they are very helpful but they didn't keep me informed about further delays.

They need more staff because they can't deal with problems quickly if they arise. I'm sure they are a great company to deal with if they have the parts in stock but they aren't great problem solvers. Cheapest Astronomy Gear in Aus Not enough personell to deal with the amount of sales adequetly
