I am extremely disappointed and upset by the way we were treated during the cremation process of our beloved dog. This was an incredibly emotional time for us, and instead of being met with compassion and care, we experienced a complete lack of respect and sensitivity. When we attended to collect our dog’s remains, the treatment we received was… Read more

cold, dismissive, and at times felt deeply disrespectful.

To make matters worse, our dog’s blanket — something that held great sentimental value — was thrown in the bin without any consideration or consultation. This was incredibly distressing and felt like a complete disregard for both our pet and our grief.

It was also very clear that the focus was on payment rather than empathy or professionalism. At a time when families are grieving, compassion should be the priority — not money.

This entire experience added unnecessary pain to an already heartbreaking situation. I would not recommend this service to anyone expecting care, dignity, and respect for their beloved pet.

Donna, Annette, and the AWL employee from ShellCove Vet Clinic initially agreed to support me in caring for three stray cats and finding them foster homes, but they ultimately abandoned us. I'm heartbroken and deeply disappointed in AWL. Their actions don't align with their claimed values. It seems they only care about cats to a certain extent… Read more

before giving up and disregarding both the animals and the people who depend on the organisation. Leaving someone in a difficult situation, especially when that person has been polite and friendly, suggests they're in the wrong line of work. Shame on AWL for their lack of care. These cats deserve a loving home, especially after waiting so long.

My puppy was booked in at Coombabah for desexing, and I had a pension discount voucher to help with the cost. Before anything was going to happen, I was asked if I wanted all these extras, items that should have been included in the original cost. eg fluids, nausea medication. If I had said "YES" to everything offered, my bill would have been… Read more

around $1000, so I politely declined. Talk about the hard upsell! If the approach had not been so aggressive, I may have relented. Rude staff, screwed her nose up at my dog's beautiful coat, saying she needed it cut. I warned her what would happen if they touched her coat! I won't ever go back, my local vet is so much nicer, to me and the puppies.

My review is not about the actual Animal Welfare, it is about pickup donations. I frequently take items and leave them at Coombabah. Recently I have some furniture and items that I can't fit in my car. I called Coombabsh three times. The receptionist was lovely. She put me through to a " .Michelle's" voicemail to organise pick up. " Michelle"… Read more

did not return my calls for more than a week, so I have now donated these items to Vinnies who were great. I love the AWL. The staff and volunteers do a great job. About a year ago, this same thing happened. I think it was also " Michelle" who didn't return my calls. Some basic courtesy please.

Adoption handled so well when alex was getting her ready. Totally transparent about her health issues but what a sweet girl little lily is and thanks to sarah for taking such good care of her. Lily is a little treasure .Cant thank thank you enough

Follow-up  · Adoption process was easy! Little lily has settled in beautifully and everyday we learn something new about her. She is a cheeky little thing and we live her to death.

Very disappointing couldn't tell my dog has no balls and is desexed so I can't register him but quick to offer a payment plan to run expensive extra tests .that could be inconclusive. I thought they were fantastic. But not now .oh for a vet of old who was expirenced and kind .

I adopted my cat through Animal Welfare League Queensland so I thought that I would stay loyal to the brand. To say that I am absolutely disappointed and frustrated is an understatement of the centaury. When I called initially on a Monday to talk about my cats leg the receptionists [Name Removed] stated that it's not deemed as an emergency and… Read more

isn't eligible for an appointment she had portrayed this quiet rudely too! She stated that the earliest appointment wasn't until Wednesday at 11AM. I took the appointment. I arrived Wednesday at 11AM and they were the quietest vet clinic that I have ever seen. However, for some reason, despite it being a ghost town, I didn't actually get called in until 12PM! Upon speaking to the vet who suspected that my cat had fractured her leg, the vet asked why I didn't come in on the Monday because the nature of the injury would've qualified as an emergency/walk-in appointment. Funny how I was told on the Monday by [Name Removed] that it wasn't. The vet barely even looked at my cat, and if she had, she would've discovered a wound. Anyway, the vet stated that my cat would need an X-Ray but they couldn't do it on that day and that I would need to come in on the Thursday to get it done.

Thursday comes and as I've entered the address into my GPS it says that the clinic doesn't open until after my appointment. So, I spent an hour trying to call and get through to confirm if they were actually open. I spoke to [Name Removed] who was also rude and made it very clear that she didn't want to be there today. [Name Removed] stated that because I had missed my appointment I'd need to reschedule and that the next earliest appointment wasn't until the following Tuesday. I asked [Name Removed] if it was possible to get another prescription for pain relief medication because the amount prescribed wasn't sufficient to last until Tuesday. [Name Removed] stated that she would need to check with the Vet. So after a 5 minute hold, [Name Removed] comes back and says "actually, we don't have any appointments on Tuesday the earliest that we have is on Wednesday, the vet said that should be fine (the medication) and I'll give you a call later today when it's ready to be picked up". I never received that call.

So you're telling me that it's acceptable for an animal to go 10 days without an x-ray when the clinic suspects a fractured leg?!?! I feel like that this clinic is grossly incompetent and that they don't really have my pets best interest in mind! I'm very much considering on getting a second opinion from a different company and the Animal Welfare League Queensland will be extremely unlikely to see me or any of my animals ever again once this injury has been resolved!

Update: after obtaining a second opinion, it is quiet clear that her leg was never broken or fractured. This would've been clear to AWLQ if the vet had actually bothered to look at her leg. If I had not gotten a second opinion, I would've ended up paying an additional $530 for an X-Ray and my cat would've undergone unnecessary stress and medical procedures. The second opinion that I went to was flabbergasted at the fact that AWLQ would even recommend such a thing. If AWLQ actually done a visual investigation they would've discovered that she had an abrasion on her leg with some minor bruising. Within a couple of days of getting this second opinion she was healthy and walking around as if nothing ever happened.

As others have mentioned AWLQ is grossly incompetent, unprofessional and rude. They most certainly will not be seeing me ever again!

We adopted a dog from Stapylton. We got the dog home and she had kennel cough (which she kindly passed to our other dog) and an ear infection. There is a 10 day grace period for any necessary vet visits after adoption so the initial vet appointment at the Coombabah clinic was free. They asked us to come back in 7 days to make sure she was… Read more

recovered. This appointment fell outside the 10 day period, but we were initially told it would be covered. Then we started receiving texts and emails about it, we called and they said the manager would look into it. We heard nothing back until about a week later when the texts resumed so my partner rang and paid it. A couple of weeks later I get a text at 7.30 at night from some lady named [Name Removed] who was chasing payment. I replied that we had paid. Then a couple weeks after that at 8.30pm I get another bloody text saying I hadn't paid and she had tacked on an extra hundred dollars. I had to send through proof of payment and don't know why she added an extra hundred dollars. We love the dog, she is beautiful, but this experience has been eye opening about awlq. We got no history on the dog whatsoever either which made it harder to adopt her.

Cold Staff! – I took my dog that has ear issues and has for a long time, been to this vet ( AWL daisy hill.) plenty! I ask to pay with afterpay and was told with no empathy from the young ginger girl who clearly lives with mummy with no life skills! That I’m sorry we don’t take afterpay if it’s less than $400! oh ok is that stated on your website because… Read more

this has left me out of pocket ! Especially at Christmas. Very robotically spoken with no care / empathy, blank stare as talking, I walked out of there upset and stressed trying to scrap up the extra money. Horribly trained staff with a who gives [Content Removed] attitude . Just a money grabbing organisation. Disgusting!!!

Excellent – Us first time Cat owners so appreciate the advice of staff at Kemps Creek who are most dedicated, caring and knowledgeable. All our Questions were answered they provided us with so much extra information. Thank you all, especially Katie and Josh. So happy with our newly named Ollie which we changed from his original name of Cannoli. He has settled so nicely into our home.

Nice clean place – I surrended an overweight cattle dog ,2023, Bonnie to them. $300 surrender fee. They were easy to deal with. Better than advertising on gumtree.com.au. The staff are young and good natured.

A very needed service – Was really happy to see I could use open pay at this service because vets costs are really high and without being able to pay it over 5 ftnights I could not have had the procedure done.

Made life a lot easier – The vet was very informative and caring. She took the time to explain everything including pricing so there was no nasty surprise fees. Being able to use open pay made everything run a lot smoother.

Western Sydney Animal Welfare League - Very unprofessional – Review: Western Sydney Animal Welfare League The Animal Welfare League of Western Sydney in NSW Australia is run by some well meaning volunteers. However, certain workers don't listen to what is said to them or take the time to find out the details of an enquiry. My enquiry was dismissed because they didn't bother to listen. Never again.
