Antipodes Joyous Protein-Rich Night Replenish Serum

It’s part of my daily skin care – Noticeable improvements in the plumpness of the skin on my face after 6 weeks of using. It improved my skin tone (I have rosacea) Intense hydration, great for dry skin
Awful smell – It stinks!!! This was my first night using it and I was really excited because it seemed to be a pretty natural serum but I hated it straight away, smells like wet hair of a dirty animal. The texture is really good, oily and rich which I look for on my night routine because I have dry skin but I couldn’t stand the strong smell of it a so I had to wash my face again. Don't waste your money on this product.
Misleading claims – Antipodes claims 19 amino acids (building blocks of protein) in this product are going to benefit your skin. Amino acid molecules are too large to enter your skin and therefore unlikely to be of any use to your skin. I questioned Antipodes on this and they responded first by ignoring my email and when prompted by a second email , providing a… Read more
completely evasive, meaningless answer. The truth is their claims are based on tests done in test tubes (in vitro) and the results DO NOT necessarily translate into real life (in vivo). They do make it clear that their claims are based on in vitro testing so technically they dont lie, but they lead you to believe these claims can have meaning to your real life skin and so they mislead you. Plus they avoid honest communication on the subject.
Doesn't absorb well, stinks – I was looking for an all natural , hydrating product and was directed to Antipodes. I regret having bought it- it smells rancid and is quite oily- doesn't moisturise and I noticed an increase in breakouts in the two weeks I stuck with it. Waste of money
Oil, not a serum, bad applicator, awful smell – I am partial to serums, especially at night - when many moisturisers are too thick - and under makeup, so I tried this one. I liked that it seemed to be more natural than other products, not a huge list of strange chemicals, it was made in NZ, and claimed a 60.5% increase in elastin production. The packaging seemed clear, and application straight… Read more
forward. It was on sale at Priceline, so I gave it a try.
I was very disappointed. The product is an oil, not a serum, as advertised. It's greasy, doesn't soak in to the skin at all, and I ended up having to wash it off, else have it all over my pillow. The applicator is an eye dropper style, which is fine, but it brings far too much product for a single use, so you have to be careful not to take too much or waste it.
I tried it again tonight and it smelled like fish oil. I think it's gone off. The expiration is 3 months away.
If you like oil, this could work for you, but I thought it was awful, and not as labeled; i.e. not a serum.
