Crap tanks purchased by plantation homes – I purchased my house less then four years ago. I have tea staining on this tank since the first three weeks of being build. My tank is now splitting from the spot welds on the bottom seam of the tank, just a matter of time before a complete failure. I called plantation homes thinking I had a ten year warranty and was told this company has gone… Read more
bust. They then told me that they hold no responsibility for any outstanding warranties. I never purchased this through Apollo, I purchased it through plantation they were the company that chose to use them not me. I really think it's poor form from them not to help and wipe their hands of this matter. I will be no looking to fair trading for their advice.
Water Tanks Are Meant To Hold Water, Right? – Terrible, worst tanks ever, bought 2 for home supply as we are not on town water. Where do I start? They leak, you can't tighten up the screws, the water just pours out more, the paint flakes off don't bother paying extra for that. Since when does stainless steel rust, yes this is what attracted me to this very bad product. We now have poly tanks… Read more
that cost half the price and actually hold water. Stay well away! Wish someone posted about this company before we wasted our money.
Worst of the worst,do yourself a huge favour and stay away from Apollo tanks – We bought 6000 litre Apollo "stainles steel" tank about 2 years ago and it started rusting almost straight away. When I contacted them they just didn't want to know and told us to spray some rust inhibitor on. And now the tank has failed completely and started leaking badly where the welds between 2 sections came apart. And again apollo refuse to honor the 10 year warranty.
Apollo provided poor service and poor ethics – We bought a land and home package deal with Plantation homes three years ago and the Apollo water tank came with it. We were given no information from Apollo or advice at hand over that we were required to have it checked within the year. Now having spoken to another tradesmen I realise that this tank is made of inferior stainless steel material… Read more
used for decorative purposes only, not for water. Our tank is rusting out from the bottom and the rivets and we've been told to look at the warrantee points 8, 9, and10. Apparently even with a ten year warranty since it wasn't checked within the year it is null and void. We are not near pounding surf or sea water. Even if we were why would it have been placed in our property? It makes little sense.
The pump used was a RS3 Divertron 1200 east fit and it blew out our power. We now have a sturdier pump.
Where is the justice when consumers buy in good faith and are given a poor deal? I think that the Dpt of Fair Trading may have much to say on such unethical matters to this firm.
Do not ever deal with this company – On the 20th November we had delivered a 6000 ltr custom made stainless steel tank. it was placed on a brand new clean cement slab by my husband and the 2 delivery guys. A few days later when our plumber came to install, he discovered a 1 cm diameter hole in the base. We took a photograph and you could see that it was the same size and shape as… Read more
the screw holes around the tank. We immediately advised Apollo of the defect and forwarded a photo.
The next day, as we had not received any response, I followed up with a phone call and Cassi in the office immediately advised that the hole must have occurred during delivery and or positioning on the perfectly flat and cleaned cement slab
I advised that personnel from Apollo Water Tanks made the delivery and positioning on the cement slab and that the tank had not been touched since the delivery.
The only suggestion from Cassi was that someone could use silicone to plug the hole to which I responded that we had paid for a new and undamaged tank and a silicone fix was not acceptable at all. In any case it would be about as helpful as putting sticky tape over it.
My then reluctant suggestion was that Apollo come on site to weld repair the hole/puncture in the tank but I was told that was ‘definitely not possible’
The next day still with no response from Apollo Water Tanks we followed up with an email requesting a full refund and collection of the goods. We never got a response and could not speak with the manager or owner, as they were "always busy" or "not here at the moment" .
We disputed the transaction through our bank and thankfully got our money back, but the whole experience has been awful. I should have done my research more thoroughly and not paid my money so easily when they asked for full payment before manufacture, instead of the usual deposit and payment after delivery.
Apollo Tanks should not be in buisness - Tank not fit for purpose – Being a builder we have to give a guarantee for six years, we bought a stainless tank from Apollo as we were under the understanding it had a ten year warranty. We were not told it only has a 12 month manufactures warranty at the time. After two years it was leaking. When contacted they would not cover it under warranty, blaming salt even though… Read more
it is not within 1KM of the surf.
We paid them upfront to fix it and have not heard a word from them for over two months!!!
I have never experienced such poor service in 25 years of buisness, I could not express the disappointment in their company. If I could give them a zero star rating that would be too high.
The QBCC inspector has advised us to take them to court and the magistrate should make them replace it as it is not fit for purpose, a house owner should not have to replace a water tank in such a short period of time.
Sorry to hear so many other people have the same issue with them.
POOR QUALITY PRODUCT - EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE – Tank installed as part of a Plantation Homes package - three years later the tank burst due to corrosion. After chasing Apollo numerous times I then contacted Plantation. Apollo then responded making a time to repair the issue ...booking got cancelled by them and rescheduled. They did turn up ...a girl and scruffy offsider then took photos and… Read more
said they couldn't to anything and that the office would be in touch. No word one week later despite 2 e mails chasing. My advise : don't buy anything from Apollo Tanks ...you are guaranteed two thing : products that don't last and customer service that sticks !
No response from 2 phone calls and email contact via their website – 18 mth old water tank, obviously out of warranty if warranty is only 12 months. However, I have left 2 messages for someone to call me from Apollo Tanks, and requested contact via Website, asking if not covered under warranty, at least to advise who can repair item - no response. Just as well they don't have Facebook site I'm thinking, otherwise… Read more
they would have a number of unsatisfied customers giving poor reviews. Will never recommend these guys.
Same Problem! – I have currently given them 10 working days to remove my tank and refund me or Department of Fair Trading here we come with all our documentation inc photos and videos and every email.
Not fit for purpose – The tank was delivered to the site in July 2012, and comes with a 12 conditional warranty. Soon thereafter rust stains appeared on the external colourbond surface, the company was contacted and advised this is normal and that I could purchase a rust prevention product from the Hardware store, apply it and the stains would disappear. My contention… Read more
was if this is normal than it is a production issue and should be covered under warranty conditions, furthermore it is not fit for purpose.
Despite my concerns with the product the company would not respond to attempt to resolve the issue. As a consequence I submitted a formal warranty claim to the General Manager as per their warranty conditions, however that was futile exercise as I did not receive any form of response. My only recourse then was to refer the matter to the Department of Fair Trading, the company then responded suggesting the stains were what is known as tea stains and that a serviceman would call and apply a rust prevention product and fish oil to resolve the matter. The serviceman called however didn't apply any rust prevention, but did leave me with a can of fish oil to apply myself. I purchased a rust prevention product and applied it and the fish oil, the stains did dissolve however return soon thereafter. Hence a never ending job to keep the stains from appearing.
Furthermore as part of my enquiries regarding the stains, I learnt there was another issue with the screws leaking. During early September I noticed that water was leaking from the tank screws holding the panels together, the warranty period has now expired. Once again I contacted the company with the view of replacing the screws and seals under warranty bearing in mind the warranty period had expired some 5 to 6 weeks prior. The company indicated the warranty had expired and that they would attend and fix the leaks for a fee of $200 plus parts, notwithstanding the tank was at best 6 weeks out of warranty. I reiterated the fact the warranty had been expired for 6 weeks at best and as a the tank developed leaks so soon after the expiration of the warranty period it was not fit for purpose as I had previously pointed out.
It will be the one and only time I do business with Apollo Water Tanks.
The product is not fit for purpose, do not respond to warranty claims and their customers concerns.
