Aqua Backpack Sprayer

Uncomfortable, and poor design – Very uncomfortable with a full tank as the straps are not fit for purpose. The pump handle is prone to come off during spraying and quite difficult to replace with the backpack harness on. It sprays ok for my purpose but if I wanted to have an accurate spray, it would not do the job. Pump pressure failed after about 18 months and despite pulling… Read more
it apart and cleaning it does not pump at all. Will try to find spares for it but don't bother with this poorly designed piece of kit.
Bad detailing in design – By Henry. Don't like the two sprayer jets that make accurate spraying difficult, backpack straps and pump handle can slip off. Designed by an inexperienced designer and seemingly was never field tested.
most uncomfortable – It Must be the worst designed straps and harness system ever. The straps cut into shoulders and the pads slip off. Did anyone ever test this at design before manufacture
This product is a joke.cheaply sold at $40.98 but unfit for the Purpose – I purchased it from Bunnings on 06/03/21 and used it for the first time yesterday 10/04/21.Followed all the instructions and after spraying just around my house I decided to clear all the remaining weedicide and pumped the handle just 3 to 4 times to ensure all remaining weedicide was clear within the handles before filling the sprayer with more… Read more
water to rinse and throw excess water. When I sprayed 3-4 times, I could see water spraying from the STAINLESS HANDLE in addition to it also coming out of the nozzle. This is very upsetting and because it has been a weekend I could not take it back to Bunnings.Does this product have warranty-6,12 or 24 months?? Is it stated anywhere in the carton or the basic manual? Is the manufacturer details stated anywhere or return guarantee protocol stated anywhere? No-I expect a response from Bunnings or Manufacturer.
Piece of S – Anchor clip for one strap breaks as soon as you take it out of the package. Seal falls out of lid every time you refill. Awful assembly instructions. Pump handle contentiously slides off during use. The strap which is not anchored on is held on by a hook which continuously comes off during use. "Comfortable straps" angrily dig into you and leave red welts.
No no and no – Double spray means you cannot spray specific areas without poisoning more than you wanted to. Continues to drip heavily without trigger on so leaves a poison trail wherever you go. Handle falls off and whole backpack has to be taken off to get it back on. Straps are plastic and not at all ok for a 15l tank. Guess I got what I paid for. Should have put the $40 towards a good one.
I would give this zero if I could – Literally the worst purchase I have ever made. Not fit for purpose at all. Whole design is literally insanely terrible so here goes: the tiny thin plastic clips that hold the straps on broke the first time I tried to put this on. Not sure who thought a piece of plastic about 3mm thick cold take the weight of 15l of liquid?? The strap padding… Read more
does not work in the least and the clips don’t glide so you have to take it on and off many times to adjust it.
The pump handle does not actually attach on properly and falls off the whole time and you can’t put it back on whilst wearing the back pack so you have to take the whole thing off again.
It is ridiculously uncomfortable to wear whilst full and straps dig in and it skin even through clothing.
This is literally the worst designed piece of kit I have ever encountered and should be removed from the marketplace.
This is gong back to Bunnings with a piece of my mind. Absolute waste of time and money.
Poor quality – The rubber seals inside the sprayer broke to pieces after 6 months of house hold use only so could not buy replacements. Waste of money and Bunnings would not replace.
Absolute heap of scrap – Useless as strap connections are weak and dont stay on, making it very unsafe. It is a ridiculous design and not worth $5 let alone $40. Dont waste your money on this terrible heap.
Absolute junk and unsafe – Shoulder straps don't work and cheap plastic clips keep falling off. Pressure lever falls off repeatedly and cant be screwed on. Spray nozzle is hopelessly inaccurate and not really adjustable., causing much waste of chemicals. Many of the connections leak (hazardous with some weedkiller). Don't waste your money, I've gone back to my old Hills 8… Read more
litre cylinder sprayer, 10 times better and much cheaper. I've thrown this Aqua backpack into the bin after one use. Bought from Bunnings but my local Mindarie store is hostile when it comes to returns, so in the bin its gone. Wish I had read these reviews first.
lance and nozzle assembly problems – There are no instructions for the various possible assemblies of the metal lance / the slender plastic lance extension / the less slender plastic lance extension / and the various nozzles and their various attachments supplied. This is a problem as not all threads are of the same diameter. Also, there are no instructions on what type of nozzle is… Read more
for a particular use. The result is that it is very difficult to assemble properly for a particular use.
Don’t bother! I’m taking mine back to Bunnings! – Yep, you get what you pay for! nozzles leak while NOT spraying, both nozzles spray at same time, you cannot shut one off! “Padded shoulder straps” NOT! Just flexible plastic! Strap clips are about as useful as an udder is on a bull!?! And lasted as long as it took me to put backpack on back for first time! I’m taking mine back to Bunnings!
Get something else – The pump handle easily falls off the unit. The straps broke off the container after 5 uses. The pump assembly shattered after 12 uses. Cannot find replacement parts, so the unit is destined for landfill. A waste of money.
Pressure Handle keeps falling off – I assembled the sprayer & tested is with just water; worked like a charm, in fact; I was really impressed & seriously considering retiring my 20 + year old "Solo" German-brand sprayer that's still kicking along. I thought the spray pattern awesome on the concrete. Until I got on the roof! The pressure handle kept coming adrift [remember, I'm on… Read more
the roof] & once I had mixed product in the sprayer, the spray pattern went a "bit-west". I got the job completed. If the pressure handle hadn't kept separating from the key, I'd have been happier. Guess I'm going to have to drill & lock it with a bolt of my own. Or smack it with a hammer to keep it in place. I was confused about the allen key in the spares but on reading other "posts", now understand it's surplus to requirements for the pressure handle lock that's no longer included. And I was a bit confused about the spray heads until reading other posts. They both operate together, you can't lock off one nozzle. Maybe it was the 30 Seconds roof product that caused the spray to go all bubbly & not spray out like it had with just water. But I purchased the sprayer specifically to use for that product. The product info says "water based garden pesticides, herbicides & fertilisers". Not sure if 30 Seconds products fall into any of those categories but it wasn't spelt out on the outside of the box as it was in the instructions for use of back pack garden sprayer. On the whole, for a $40 sprayer, I thought it did okay. It wouldn't take the manufacturers much to sort the pressure handle issue. Will persevere. Would recommend but only if they sorted the pressure handle being secured better
straps really skinny – straps are too thin to carry the weight of a 15 lt backpack - sprayer works increadibly well, so if they got ontop of this, it would be a winner
It is what it is for $40 – Well not as good as I’d hoped for! I don’t understand the twin head sprayer, It sprays out of both all the time so target spraying is difficult, I’ve tried to close one off but it doesn’t work! Anyhoo I’ll fab something up
Cant expect much for $40 but still disappointed – Disappointed as I tried before I buyed, neighbour offered to lend me his backpack after seeing me make do with a 5L bottle sprayer and I was impressed. Rushed off to Bunnings and bought one only to find they have changed the handle (removed the screw - but left in the allen key for it!) and just have a pressed hex connection now which keeps coming… Read more
off. The straps arent as good as his were, I have obtained some pool noodles to put on them to see if that stops them cutting into my shoulders, otherwise I will buy straps from another brand (which will be about $40 on their own). Also the fan nozzle on his has been replaced with the twin head on mine, not sure if that is an improvement either. If you are prepared to fix the problems with the straps and the pump handle it is otherwise a good unit for the price. I thought it would be worse for my back than the smaller 5L bottle but it wasnt that bad because you dont have to keep bending over to pump up the pressure.
Does the job very well – Have been using a small 5 Litre hand held pack for a while, had to replace the unit and decided to go with a larger volume back pack style. This Aqua unit is actually Ok and does the job in about 1/3 of the time, with a price of $40 my expectations weren't very high. Has a 15 Litre tank, so can do my entire property in one go. It has a… Read more
double spray head. This took a bit to get used to, but after a little while this works very well.
The trigger is very sensitive. I think I sprayed a few plants along the way!
The handle for pumping the pressure can be used both Right and Left, however it keeps falling off, I will need to drill a hole and put a small bolt through to hold in place.
One really big negative... The shoulder straps are crap. They are too thin and the plastic padding is useless. When I have the unit full, (15 Litres is a bit of weight) the shoulder straps curl over, may as well have thin rope, very uncomfortable, and slipped off my shoulders as the tank volume decreased. I have several older backpacks around the house, will need to fit some of these straps instead.
Overall I am happy with this Aqua Backpack Spray unit. A couple of slight modifications as mentioned and Lets see how long it actually lasts.
Recommend this unit.
