Arlec 9W Tri Colour Dimmable LED Downlight Questions & Answers
VerifiedI have installed one down light, it is constantly dimming alternating with full brightness. Any ideas?
Hi, I have the Arlec ALD092 9W dimmable tricolour LED downlights. What sort of dimmer do I require? Leading edge? Trailing edge? What dimmer (twist knob operation preferred) is recommended?
Any relatively recent dimmer should be fine. The dimmers in use with my Arlecs are at least 10 years old and do the job.
Hi I have 6 x 9 watt arlec led dimmable downlights all operating from one switch can you tell me what dimmer I would need to operate them. Total wats = 54 watts
I'm pretty sure any dimmer for lights would be able to handle 54 watts, but you should be able to see what the maximum wattage any dimmer you purchase is capable of. It should be on the dimmer itself or on the box it comes in if it does come in a box. Further, the seller should be able to tell you.
Hi I was told that led lights of 9 watt each x 6 in the one circuit = 54 watts of led lights so would need a 600 watt universal or trailing edge dimmer switch ??
Does the arlec model ald295rv dimmable led downlight require a transformer
No it doesn't, Ray. It has an inbuilt driver and it comes with a cord and 240 volt male plug so it is very easy to install. All you need is a 240 volt outlet. Kind regards, Roben.
Thanks Roben also Are you able to tell me what size trailing edge led dimmer switch I would need to run the 9 downlights 9 watts each.
Hi Roben on one circuit there is 6... 9 watt led & the other circuit there is 5...9watt leds
Why wont you answer my latest question
Do these need special dimmers? I want to use them to replace halogens in a circuit that has a dimmer (installed 25 years ago).
No, they don't require special dimmers.
What is the CRI on these lights
What’s cri about the Arlen 9w downlights ?
Hi, John Y. I assume you are wanting to know the CRI of the Arlec 9W downlights. CRI is subjective to a degree and the Arlec has three colours to choose from. You simply switch between the 3 and pick that which suits you. I have them set at 4000 kelvin as I particularly like the crisp, clean white it produces. Some prefer other settings. Further, the 4000K gives the highest lumen output, which is another reason for my choosing it. For the record, it has a CRI quoted as greater than 80 which is considered to be good by those in the know. Hope that helps.
