Ok while it worked. Broken now – Battery is fine as the display is on continuously without power, but doesn't turn appliances on anymore. Even pressing manual button to force on doesn't work. Just a few milliseconds of power let through, then not. So the switch inside flicks over and then releases again. Cannot dismantle to look inside as it requires a strange 3 winged screw bit.… Read more

Also have Arlec rope light that is stuck on one lighting patterned now. No more Arlec! Clearly terrible products with short life span. Shame on the company for creating landfill.

Stopped working after 9 months – True to Arlec style my timer stopped working after 9 months…in AUTO mode when it powers ON it fails , liek it has tripped. When i connect the device without the timer it works. Disappointing this has to end up as e waste in less than 1 year. Show details

Works well, but difficult to program – Make sure you keep the instructions, because they are not available online, and I've lost mine. It's very unintuitive to program. Once I had set it up, it worked fine, but when I had to change rooms, it had accidentally been toggled to "off" (see bottom right hand corner of the screen), so we couldn't get it to work anymore. After pressing all… Read more

of the buttons, I worked out that the "manual" button toggles between on/auto/off, and it is working again.

Failed after a year – Purchased prior to Christmas 2020. Worked perfectly for controlling outside Xmas lights. Went to use it this Christmas and timer function no longer works even though it had been continuously plugged into a live outlet to keep battery charged.

Complicated to set. Buy something else that is more intuitive – Very complicated not intuitive or easy to set. Better off buying something more expensive that can be programmed easier and does what you want. Don’t waste your money on this. Show details

If you need a countdown timer for automatic switch off it's perfect – 25/11/23 UPDATE **** Have you noticed how many incidents are resulting from charging batteries and having the place burnt down? I have a couple of rechargeable items and this is where such a count down timer has great value. I put my E-bike on 2 and 1/2, 3 hours charge and feel some peace of mind about it not being over charged INITIAL REVIEW. … Read more

I had been looking for such gadget to use with my fan heater in a small room. And I found those two items perfect for the job. That is, like now when it's fairly cold. I can plug my heater on one of them and I know I don't have to worry about forgetting to switch it off because I can rely on its count down function. I had two items on the tittle but can't only see one? These two timers are actually identical although bearing a different brand name and model number. They are around $20. I'm pretty sure I bought the first one (Arlec) at Bunnings but could not find it there any more when, recently I needed another one. So I went to Jaycar Castle Hills and they had the Powertech. MS-6114 I tried other timers before but they were not keeping the Countdown value so you had to go through the whole procedure to set it up again every time you needed it. These ones once you have set it, let's say to be on for 27 minutes, this value will stay on until you change it or your backup battery inside dies and it's not plugged in the main power. In my case it's hooked onto my heater and all I have to do is push the CD button and it'll run for the set time every time I need it, So after those 27 minutes if I want it to continue I'll hit again that button. As such for a frequent or repetitive short task it's very good. It's got an incredible range of 100 hours (minus one second!) It has 10 programs (on and off), and many combinations for repetitive weekly uses . Its "Manual" button can switch an appliance On or Off It has a decent display , so, easy to read with the time and day of the week. I found the instructions a little challenging and ended up re-writing mine for easier CDT settings, after I understood how to use it. As stated I only want it for its countdown function. And I'm very pleased with both of them. PS: The system does not allow to enter more than one store!

Tried 2. Both didn't work properly – 1st timer - stayed on after time had elapsed after working properly for 4 days. 2nd timer - clock gained 30 seconds per day, which meant the timer came on 30 seconds earlier. Junk. Show details

Go to you tube as the same Setup video as Crest PWA05296 brand timer – Unit works fine , once is programmed correctly. Rather bulky it occupies both double GPO sockets. Take care unit Not to be exposed on Direct sunlight, LCD display fades away rather quick. Show details

Does not work properly on timer setting – Point number one: difficult to set up for someone who is non technical, confuses most people on how to set the thing up. point number two: I set the time and program setting as per instruction leaflet, after going through one day/night cycle did not want to switch on or off at the program settings, seemed to go on or off at random times. Then I… Read more

Master reset the unit and went back and reset unit. After one day it started to do the random on/off times again. Unfortunately I threw away the box and Bunnings receipt, otherwise I would have returned straight away for refund. This product is rubbish!!!! looks like its going to be a rubbish item.

Could not get the timer to work – I set the time and program 1. Did not turn on. Tried the manual selection which did work, showing that the lamp was functional and switched on. Went back to Auto but it did not work. Tried setting all 10 programs in case one of them was turning it off. No result. Count down timer worked ok. Taking it back to Bunnings tomorrow. Show details

Hard to program. Keeps losing program once set – Following the on off program instructions was not straightforward but I got it working. Some trial and error to get it actually working. In the 6 weeks I have had it it has lost all programming 3 times and defaults to on. Hopeless piece of kit. Show details

Good once you can figure out how to use it – I bought 2 of these for my reptile enclosure lights. I followed the instructions how to set the time and the on/off times for the timers but couldn't get them to work. I asked another person in my family to help but they couldn't get them working either. The lights weren't even working when just plugged in to the timer with nothing set. It was so… Read more

frustrating. I was ready to send them back to Bunnings thinking they were faulty and just sat pressing all the buttons hoping something would work. They eventually turned on - because there was an ON setting (not mentioned in the instructions). It took a bit of trial and error & a lot of resetting the timers to finally figure out how to actually SET the timer to come on/off. The instructions were useless. If I had known how difficult a seemingly easy to use product would be, I wouldn't have bought them (I didn't like how the analogue timers tick all the time).
