Arlec Solar LED Fence Light Questions & Answers
VerifiedWhat are the instructions for fence lights set with 2 push buttons on back of solar panel? Will the panel solar charge with button pressed on and/or ??
Do you remove the plastic film on top solar part of the fence lights
If it is thin and see through, you could try leaving it on as it will help protect the solar part from the weather - and see what happens. If it seems to be interfering with charging then maybe remove it.
I think it should be removed, the light should be waterproof and not need this
I have purchased bollard lights and have been in light/sun over 24hrs and are not working do they have a switch ?
Do you mean the fence light this thread is about or different bollard lights?
OMG, I purchased these lights in June this year and have been so peeved that they didn't work - have just found my receipt and about to return to Bunnings today - when I Googled that they didnt work & found this thread. Just pulled out the tab and they are all working...insert swear word here.
Whilst the title of this product is 'SOLAR LED FENCE LIGHT, Instructions say that "This product is not intended for use during adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain and wind or during winter months" So if this is the case, most of the fences i know and have are pretty much in the elements. So if they ae screwed into a fence or decking, it would not be convenient to removing as soon as the weather changes. I mean we live in Melbourne Victoria with sometimes 4 seasons in the one day. Can this be clarified please as I might just return them to get my money back. Thank you Robert
I'm going to put some clear tape across the join from the black plastic bit to the clear plastic bit - hoping the rain will run over it?? Getting into June here in Perth so let's see how this goes!
Can this be installed on a metal fence? Or only wooden fences ?
How do you remove the battery
Hi Alan. It's been awhile since we worked it out. If i remebr you have to find the tag in the back somewhere and pull it out. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I did remember the tag was trciky to find.
Kylie.
Can't find the tag either
Info maybe too late but to remove the battery and the battery pull tab, sit the battery compartment on a flat surface. There is a small black tab where the clear plastic battery compartment joins the rest of the unit. Gently prise under/around the tab until the clear plastic battery compartment comes out. Take the battery out and you will find a very small clear plastic tab that is very hard to see with the word "pull" on it and a red arrow. Remove it, replace the battery and if it has been charged should turn on immediately - mine did.
Thank you. The manufacturer instructions don’t say how to open the unit. It’s not intuitive at all. Your instructions did their work for them.
how does it turn on
As it’s solar it automatically comes on once nightfall comes. It’s really important that you pull out the battery tab first though.... you need to pull the clear cover down which is over the actual globe and inside here is the battery tab which needs to be removed.
Hi Les. Shirlie's directions are probably better to follow as it was awhile ago when I helped my sister with hers. I do remember though it was a bit of a mission finding the tab!
How do I remove the battery
Arlec, can you please upload a video that shows how to open this to pull the battery tab out!!!
I almost ripped the thing apart, just be careful the wires to the solar panel connect the 2 parts. So best bet is to hold it close and pull slowly as the previous post said push your thumb down on the top of the clear, between the 2 LEDs. It should slide open. Turn it over to access the clear plastic tab.
These are cheap and show it but as long as they do the job I don't mind, just wish they were a little more user friendly, even if it cost a dollar more each to make!
Plz show me how to pull out the battery pull tab before use
It’s easy. Swear, push, tug, swear a bit more and believe it or not the near super glued clear bit pops out
Just gently insert a small screwdriver carefully into one end of the clear plastic section and twist. Then gently slide The clear section open And you’ll see a tab to remove from the casing. Make sure the battery is sitting properly before closing again. Presto!
Thank you Phil Cleary, best instructions
Yeah.. thanks for the advice , the instructions weren't very clear. Took a while to figure that out... it'll be interesting how long they last. Very cute little lights.
