ASRock B550M WiFi SE
1 review
The Asrock motherboard is sold as a B550M wifi SE. So if you looked at it's name you would assume as it is named so it would have a B550 chipset . Its on the computer motherboard box its on the Manual all calling it B550M. Unfortunately the actual chipset is a B565 which sadly does not allow any overclocking or PBO as it is disabled on this chipset. To be honest it does say in fine print on the back of the box B565 and in the manual as well. It just shows you should never presume that if something is named as one thing it is actually that. I purchased a ryzen 5 5600X to go on this motherboard and it was only when I tried to enable the PBO function did I find I had been sold a motherboard that did not live up to its name. Possibly a clever marketing strategy by Asrock to move sub par chipsets that are not what they were advertised to be. I bought this motherboard believing it to be a B550 chipset as advertised and that I could enable the PBO function on. Alas only to find that it had been made with the B565 chipset that had been knobbled for overclocking. Buyers beware make sure what you think you are buying is what you are getting. My score reflects my opinion of the dubious adverting of this motherboard
