Purchased the 300w folding solar blanket and am very disappointed, it averages in full sun an input of 5-7amps, compared to my 320w solid panels putting in 15amp in the same position at the same time (charging a different battery). Bit of a waste of money and time getting this blanket, does not perform anywhere near what's advertised. Show details

Panel rating is a scam, Rated power output is very misleading – I got these from a well known Melbourne based ebay and online seller. I was stupid enough to buy 2 of these 250 watt rated panels. I though they were not delivering the rated power, so I got a solar panel tester to measure the output of the panels. As can be seen from the photos of the tester one panel was delivering 112 Watts and the other… Read more

83 watts. Both these tests were done in full sun light on a sunny day.

As a comparison on the same day my old 150 watt rated folding panels were delivering around 130 Watts on the same day.

I would not expect the panel output to be a full 250 watts.. but in full sun on a sunny day I would expect it to be at least somewhat close to that rated value, like how my old folding panels were operating close to their rated value.

best value 200w folding panel I've ever bought – I was looking for a portable solar panel for my SUV camper to power my alt battery and found the 200w foldable one on vicoffroad. Pretty fast shipping which was a surprise, and its output was around 160watts. One of the best deal I've got at this price. Show details

300w solar blanket – 13.5 amp output in the morning. Isn't bad at all. I used my own mppt control to boost it's output and kept the free PWM one at the back just in case. It can be folded up in one piece so easier for me to carry up. Show details

Flase output claims – Hi, I just bought the 200w fold out panel. I tested it and it only produced about 4 amps of power max. My old rigid 180w panel was pumping out almost 9 amps in exactly the same position and angle. I am in communication with them now however I get the feeling I have been taken for a ride!

300w atem folding solar panel – These are junk, no where near the stated power claims. I'm getting about 100w from 300w panels. I smell burning each time I use these panels. Have done heaps of testing with different controllers and next to my old glass panels and the atem simply don't perform. I would not recommend to anyone.

Do not waste your money on ATEM Products – Can't fault the price and weight of these panels, but the reality is, you get what you pay for. 300Watts rating... actual maximum output is 150Watts at best! I say at best, as this was that output for the first 5 minutes after which the panels heated up to a point where they were too hot to touch. From there, as the heat rose, the output diminished. DO NOT waste your money on this crap hardware!

All good so far – We bought the flexible folding 160W panel about 14 camping trips ago. It's so small, lightweight and easy to use we don't travel without it. Did two weeks in the Kimberly last year and it worked brilliant allowing us 5 days at the Bungle Bungles without hardly running the vehicle and having a 50 litre Waeco and 40 litre Engel (on freeze). Three… Read more

things...1. doesn't matter what brand of panel...if you want to get the most out of it you have to keep it angled towards the sun...a bit of a pita but hey..what are kids for. 2. Alligator clips are crap for connecting to a battery. Get Anderson plugs or better still Deutsch plugs fitted to your vehicle so you can plug in. Also some DCtoDC chargers don't really work that well with their in-built MPPT regulator. I get best power output using a quality MPPT direct to the battery. 3. The supplied little metal legs with folding flex blanket are crap...it blows over in wind and they fall out when stowing away. Otherwise excellent product. Here in the Pilbara sun I am regularly hitting 8 amps from a 160w panel.

Panels are not quality from experience – 160W Fold Panel by Atem Power. Seemed well build and is lightweight as described. After weeks full use in sun the top layer of the panel started peeling and failing in 4 areas. Poor Quality don't waste your money. Their warranty is worth nothing as they are only concerned with function.
