Audio Technica ATH-IM70

For IM50 similar to IM 70 – Good sound and comfort easy to apply to ear good sealing of ear canal. But only lasted six months. The sound was good. But would I pay over $100 again. Not likely. I have some $40 units that I like just as much.

earphones have a memory wire that will help you keep them in place. Having said that, they are not the most comfortable earphones ever, it will take some practice and getting used to before you feel at ease with them.

The build quality is outstanding. They are built like a tank. A hard resin casing that feels like it could take a beating.

The cable is strong and detachable, meaning that if it were to break, you can replace it without having to throw the whole unit out.

Sound. Here is where this puppies shine.

These earphones are designed to give you a relatively flat response. This allows vocals and details to shine through, specially on acoustic tracks. That's not to say that you can't listen to electronic music with them, but to appreciate the quality of these earphones you want to listen to something with dynamic range.

The ATH-IM70 will give you undistorted highs which never become sibilant, warm and smooth mids, and punchy, well controlled bass that doesn't muddle the rest of the music.

The soundstage is pretty open for earphones and the separation is pretty good too, better than other at this price.

If these earphones were more comfortable, they would've been perfect. Still, the sound is magnificent, even to the point where I feel like I've been listening to music wrong my entire life.
