Terrible products, terrible seller, avoid at all costs! – I initially left a very positive review for this business however, after three weeks of using the roof rack, my car has began to rust as a result of these poorly designed products. I should note that my friend and I have identical new cars and have the exact same product installed, and are experiencing the same issues, the same length of time… Read more
after installation.
During installation, I noticed multiple flakes/balls of aluminum coming out of holes in the frame, i didn't think to much of it at the time, until checking my gutters when washing my car i noticed bright orange exactly where the feet of the roof rack are placed, in these feet, the balls of "aluminum" were found to have scrapped layers of paint off the vehicle, exposing the bare metal to the elements (image attached).
My friend and I took our vehicles with the roof rack still installed back to the seller, who invited me onto his property with my vehicle, despite initially parking it on the surrounding street. After approximately 10 minutes of shear denial & refusing to acknowledge the mere presence of the rust, he advised we should take him to court as he is unwilling to assist with the issue. The seller then screamed that we exit his property immediately, despite dissembling our roof racks, making it unsafe to drive. As i was reassembling the terrible product, another customer entered the property and i advised the customer to avoid purchasing a product due to our negative experience, within seconds the seller PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED my friend and I by throwing us into our own vehicles whilst a verb barrage continued. The seller also damaged the side body paintwork during disassembly (image attached)
This is the most disgusting, unprofessional business i have have the displeasure of using. I cannot recommend enough to avoid this place as you will end up with a damaged vehicle & physical abuse.
79 series single cab steel roof rack-Aussie Auto parts – Bought a steel roof rack and few years later it is totally rusted trough on both top corners. I called Aussie Auto Part today, I talked to Romie (Roman) and he is in charge he told me. Fact is Romie is very rude over the phone. He said that the products have improved over the years and according to him it is normal wear and tear. Quote: ´´they… Read more
don´t last for ever, if you want quality go for Rhino roof racks´´. Really? Bad customer service and cheap (probably) Chinese products. Don´t buy from them. This is the first time I wrote something on a review site, but this is as bad as it gets.
Great flat roof rack for landcruiser – Few months ago Bought Landcruiser flat roof rack platform great fit and good quality fits perfectly highly recommended great quality for great price , nearly half price of the other brands
Taken Back by Poor Communication – I saw these guys on eBay, the reviews looked great and I was very hopeful. It's very difficult to find a custom-built roof rack in Australia that fit Jeep Wranglers but these guys looked promising and I was even willing to pay the extra $500 to get the product shipped to North QLD, but when I went to their actual website I couldn't find any… Read more
products related to Jeep so I decided to call them.
The call started with me inquiring about the roof rack, just making sure they did make them able fit Jeeps and he (I'm guessing the owner based off the reviews of others) confirmed yes they did. Great! So I ask about the quality, how many Jeeps they may have looked at in the past etc. this is when the phone call started to go south.
I was told I was welcome to shop somewhere else and I apologized to the owner explaining I meant no offense and commended them on their prices, still determined to buy their product. This is when he snapped back saying "if I asked for 3 times as much you'd go somewhere else," (yes I would, that's why I'm here) but he continued, "next time I'll remember to increase the prices for you thank you."
Based on their most recent reviews I thought they'd be trying to upsell their product to me not tear me down for asking simple questions to make sure I was getting the product advertised on eBay. I'm glad I called however because I feel like I've dodged a huge bullet by choosing not to buy from these guys.
Poor delivery time – I placed my order more than three weeks ago. To date I have not received my order nor have i had any further communication. Feeling rather frustrated and will never use them again.
Painful installation – Installation was a definite head scratcher, very vague Instructions with minimal information and poor quality pictures. I recently fitted the 3m x1.4 alloy rack to my iload, once I had screw everything together and began drilling my anchor holes, the back holes went fine, then middle holes landed above a roof support so I had to take the roof… Read more
support off to get my bolts in, and the front holes landed in the roof interior, so I have to take down all my interior to get the bolts in. Plus the bolts had to be cut to fit. I got it done but it was tough, now any speed over 80km become very noisy with the wind, even with the wind deflector provide installed traveling at 110km is uncomfortably noisy and needs attention to become barable, I now have to look into buying a proper wind deflector so I can drive my van without getting a head ache
This roofrack failed within 4 months of use, no refund or cooperation with the owner. Only loaded a roof top tent – Pics of the cracked roof rack, barely used, only loaded a roof top tent. Went on unsealed roads twice. Owner has refused cooperation and wont reply to emails and phone calls are blocked.
So easy to fit – The instruction sheet was useful but after the helpful staff outlined the necessary fitting procedures it wasn't needed. I fitted a tradesman style to a defender and had no clearance problems with the Alpine windows. It is strong and looks great. Perhaps some people just shouldn't use tools.
Rack was good – I purchased a rack for a LC200 and fitted it myself. The system was easy and it was on the car for 18 months until I sold it with no issues. Over this time I never had a problem and will buy another when I get my new 4WD. Interesting that bad reviews mainly to Land Rovers?? Show reply
Glad l chose these guys – I would recommend this roof rack if you are looking for a good solid quality product. It comes at a good price and also comes with great service. Don't hesitate. Do it. Show reply
Defender 90 rack fits all right – I bought one alloy cage rack for my Defender 90 recently; it went on perfect. The seller provided special notes on where to put the gutter brackets. I followed the instruction step by steps; installation was done in 2 hours without hassle. I was worries before when I saw the reviews. But I would like to recommend it to my friends. Show reply
Land Rover Defender gutter clamps – I agree, stay away, I buggered around for weeks trying to get it to fit, the outer clamp wouldn't go under the lip, they did supply different outer clamps with bigger holes, which I've managed to get to fit, but I've taken the paint off my 2016 Defender 90 in so many places it sickens me. Very unhappy and no response from my retailer. Also the… Read more
whole rack sits very high on the car and cannot be adjusted - note to self, should've bought a Front Runner.
Doesn't fit and they won't return – Product doesn't fit my 110 Defender. Gutter clamps are badly made and won't install. They say we're not fitting it right but a child could see it's not going to work. Stay Away!!
We understand it might be… Read more
Defender 90 – The rack was too high above the roof 85 mm from the top of roof to the underside of the rack. The mounting brackets touched the Alpine Windows and the gutter clamps didn't fit under the lip of the gutter to secure roof rack. Guy was rude and told me it didn't matter the bracket was touching the glass.
Please contact us at info@aussieautoparts.com to rectify this issue.
Cheap and Nasty Products / Arrogant and Aggressive Staff – I purchased the extended rails & crossbars for my Discovery 3 and paid a cheaper price than the OEM product, so I expected a cheaper product. However what I received is very cheap and nasty. Bolt holes don't line up correctly, the rubber seals on the rails don't even touch the vehicle, and the whole product leaves you with little confidence in… Read more
its strength and safety.
I contacted them to express my concerns and ask for a refund, since I don't believe the product is 'Fit For Purpose'.
After 4 weeks of numerous phone calls and emails, I eventually got a response.
I was told by an extremely aggressive and angry manager that...
' The rubber seals are for aesthetics purposes only'
There was an equally lame and arrogant response to all my other concerns !
Consumer Affairs informed me that I needed to expect a long drawn out process to chase a refund, the main reason I purchased a cheaper product is because I only need it for occasional use, I have another vehicle with ' REAL' roof racks, so I have decided to keep the product and
'Engineer' a solution. I am just sorry that this company has my hard earned money... Don't give them yours !
Warning he ruined my roof – Stay away the roof he fitted on my Iload was an absolute disaster. It leaked and silo can was everywhere. I had to pay extra to avoid major damage to my car. He also left rust shards everywhere and forced us to pay physically in the store.
Warning! Roof rack disaster – Recently I had a painful time with a completely unsuitable aluminium roof rack supplied for my Nissan R51 Pathfinder from Aussie Auto Parts and Accessories. I had to report Aussie Auto Parts to the ACCC, get Victorian Consumer Affairs involved actively and threaten action through the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal before getting a refund on… Read more
return of the goods.
The roof rack components were poorly manufactured and "not fit for purpose". The solid steel brackets supplied were not folded properly and upper surfaces pointed markedly upwards, the drilled holes were of different sizes and too large and the rack's attachment points to the brackets did not line up, so the rack could not even be attached to the brackets. Even the bolts (too long) and washers (too small) for fitting the brackets to the vehicle were the wrong size and unsuitable! Two-sided sticky rubberised tape was supplied for putting between the brackets and the vehicle… The parts supplied were not compatible with the vehicle or with each other. The supplier said that tightening down the bolts would solve all problems but that would have caused severe damage to my vehicle's roof because the solid steel brackets do not bend.
Avoid this company. My experience was of shoddy Chinese gear and shabby, unprofessional treatment.
"Tradesman" brand roof rack is specifically designed for the Pathfinder R51 and of very much better… Read more
