rip me right off. I lodged a complaint with the department of fair trading and informed Austral herbs of the complaint. They then issued the refund the next day. Do not purchase from Austral herbs unless you are willing to contact the department of fair trading if you receive a rancid off product. Otherwise you will not get your money back. Extremely stingy unethical business.

that the pack they gave us was bad. They were happy to take the money and tough luck for us. It wasn’t until we filed a complaint with the department of fair trading that they decided to refund the money. If you decide to purchase from them be prepared to contact the department of fair trading if you receive a tampered with off product . If I could give zero stars it would be more befitting.

which is the bare minimum they could do. And I’ve made multiple attempts to contact the owner, Paige, to discuss this serious issue, and I’ve been completely ignored. That’s unacceptable for a company that used to pride itself on quality and service.

Worse still, I’m clearly not the only one experiencing this problem. In 2025 alone, I’ve had two friends order from Austral Herbs and receive stock with similar contamination issues. This isn’t an isolated incident—it’s a major quality control failure that the new management seems unwilling to acknowledge or address.

I used to recommend Austral Herbs to everyone, but now I can only warn others to stay away. If this is the new standard, I don’t see this business lasting much longer.

out and I hope it was for a lot so the original owners got to go on a nice big holiday - they have disintegrated into the worst experience. They are no longer stocking many products in small amounts only for trade bulk sizes, the reply to one email from me was "we are people too" after they decided to not have the supply chain constant and have stock on hand while they moved to a bigger warehouse - while constantly offering deals but when you go to order there is no product in stock. I wanted 5-6 ingredients - none were in stock - and these aren't rare ingredients. So I went to other suppliers - and also did an order with Austral - 7 days ago - all the others have shipped and it has been delivered via regular australia post - Austral hasn't even shipped yet. I am so disappointed as their pricing was competitive for so long and their quality was excellent. I have seen this happen in the last year in other retail sectors - the little guy gets bought out by the big guy and the big guy doesn't give one S&%T about the smaller purchasing customers - forgetting those of us reviewing here are the ones that built that business you bought over the last decade.

Reduced types of botanicals for sale – Been purchasing from Austral Herbs for nearly 10 years. Recently It seems that their stock list has greatly decreased from before, even from simple things like spearmint, to some more obscure botanical that used to make Austral Herba great. Also I noticed a lot of their items are now bulk orders for trade only. It seems that the new owners want to attract only the big fish now. It's a bit disappointing.

Very impressed with their customer support – I bought a quantity of crushed milk thistle seed, which turned out to be rancid, and totally unusable. I contacted Austral Herbs, and they responded very promptly. Asked me for details of the exact order and what was wrong. They immediately then sent out a replacement. This is what customer service is meant to be like, but unfortunately lacking with many modern companies these days. I am an impressed, as well as happy customer.

delivery not arriving, they don't care and have no idea how to assist with where our order was at, staff like xxxx need to be trained properly. I paid Express post for my herbs that I need urgently, four days later, we have received nothing! WHERE IS MY ORDER?

Very Nice – My order was not sent out within the time frame and they were very apologetic about the mishap and couldn't have been more helpful. Will defiantly order from this company again.

Zero Customer Service – I've bought from Austral Herbs for years & their customer service was great. However since it's been taken over by new management, whether emailing or phoning them, no response. I think it's time to look elsewhere, especially considering some of the other poor resent reviews.

• Products arrived in excellent condition, in air-tight and resealable foil packaging. The powders are of fine quality, with no apparent impurities.

• Outer box and padding was made of recycled paper/board, with no plastic other than the tape sealing the carton.

Blaming me for their bad product – I bought 25g of Dandelion Root, and when I went to use it, it was mouldy. Still within use by date. Organic ginger powder with sand in – I bought organic ginger powder 1kg 2 years ago for $83 from australherbs. They were from India which I did not know when I was purchasing online. have to either use the powder or throw them away. Because large amount and expensive, I have to keep them. But every time I need to make it as a special project to dilute it into hot water then filter sand in the ginger juice or just use the top part of juice by throwing away the button where contained sand. It makes the ginger power worth even less than half value, plus still not safe and it might still contain fine sand in which I could not feel any more. I could not use them for cooking because of sand inside. So, over two years, I very rare to use them and eventually more likely I have to thrown them away. Its such disgusting experience by buying sandy ginger power online. My integrative GP told me to not buy online which can happen like what I had or even with lead inside power. She said its better to buy in capsules from physical health shops. I also bought turmeric powder from "goodness" online at the similar time which was OK with no sand.

Top supplier – Good quality products. They have a good range of organic products. I have found the quality of their products significantly better than other sources generally. The only exception is some of the tea eg white tea but hey anyone who knows 101 about tea knows for those prices you are not getting the grand cru of tea, for that you will have to deep dive in to the specific world of tea. Service is pretty great.

Exceptional Company – I have been ordering from Austral Herbs for years and have always been impressed with all the products, delivery is fast and never had any issues!

herbs in bulk as I like to mix up my own herbal teas and my family go through a decent amount so this is the most cost effective option for us. I also like the fact that they offer a decent variety of herbs and teas that are certified organic .

Wrong item sent – I ordered dried elderberries and received a book I didn't want. For this reason I won't buy from Austral herbs again.

Customer service has nose dived! – Staff constantly complain that they're too busy to keep up yet fail to put on additional staff, and forget about having calls/emails returned.

Great Quality Poducts – The products are of great quality and customer service is excellent. We have been ordering from Austral Herbs for a view years and the herbs and seaweed powders are reasonably priced and fresh.
