The cover is good as far as protection is concerned, however, it is a bit cumbersome to take off and much more so to fold even modestly to store. My main negative however is the very outer, thin plastic coating that sits on top of the silver foil. It has gone very crispy and is flaking off everywhere - impossible to clean up. As soon as you touch… Read more

it flakes into a hundred pieces. Bad for the environment thats for sure. On that basis alone I would not recommend or purchase again.

Similar to Nigel.H below. After about 12 months these covers go bad. This appears to be when they are exposed to direct sunlight over time. Given the cover is for outdoors and waterproof that is its purpose. I would expect a longer life than about 12 months. This is the Storm Guard cover. During the period it worked it was great. However it… Read more

rapidly became brittle and cracked despite my care for it.

For the price I would not recommend it. Unless you are storing in a carport or not using constantly in direct sunlight light.

I purchased the Autotecnica Premium Hail cover and it surpassed all my expectations. No hesitation in reccomending this product to others. I actually ordered mine from Supercheap Auto Windsor in Queensland, fast delivery fair price.

After 2 years this what happens, not worth spending the money. Might as well go for something cheaper that will last the same and if not more years. Hope this helps

Premium or Ultimate covers for hail protection do a great job. Why do people buy a hail protection cover and use it every day? That’s not what they are for! The clue is in the name of the product! The Stormguard every day covers are great.

NOT designed for Australian conditions – Bought the top of the range. Will last only one Summer and one Winter. NOT designed for Australian conditions. Waterproof covering breaks down revealing a Gossamer thin fabric which tears open very easily. Overpriced and to be avoided.

Not So Autotecnica… – August last year searched for a decent car cover for my Mercedes. Found this Autotecnica online offering PREMIUM products, didn’t think twice and purchased. Very nice packaging though!!! 7 months later found the product cracking and peeling , the strap on the floor is superb but the car cover material is not worth the money!!!!!

3rd cover in 6 years - that's it – 3rd cover in 6 years - that's it. They just don't last. The portion exposed to the sun will crack open in blisters at about 13 months. That's just outside of warranty. I'm off to find something else.

Beware. These car covers won't last – These Autotechnica stormguard car covers won't last. The area which the cover is exposed to direct sunlight the most will start to crack and rot after 14 months. Just after the 12 month warranty expires. Do not buy from Car Covers and Shelter. There is no physical place of business just a P.O. box in Drummoyne. The business address is registered… Read more

at a private residence at Winton NSW. Winton is about as far away from Drummoyne as you can get. Only buy from well known publicly listed companies.

Poor quality covers – These stormgaurd covers are useless in the sun. They will flake and split. Complete waste of money. When i spoke to Tony, he just fobbed me off and told me the cover was on the car too much... Huh, isnt that where they're meant to be...

Premium Hail cover – I bought the dearer premium cover thinking it would last a little while but no. I put the cover on in the winter on and off over a period of 4 months and the top clear plastic layer started flaking off going all over the neighborhood. It didn't even last the 12 months warranty it is supposed to have. Apparently it's not UV stable and can't be in the sun so Autoecnica cover and warranty is useless. A load of rubbish for over $300.

Beware this company – Items arrived late and damaged and the company claimed the replacement express post satchels but refuse to offer me my postage back. The $200 worth of products have damage but apparently Tony doesnt care as he has been paid . Beware beware beware . You can get better service as supercheap auto and thats saying something.
