Avanti Cookie Press and Icing Set

Ok so looking at earlier reviews it seems like the ends kept popping off. I have the opposite problem. We had fun icing cup cakes but we can't clean the cylinder because the top will not twist off. Maybe an over correction?!?
Very disappointed and no cookies to console myself with – Sadly, I have to agree with the majority. I got this as a gift and was so excited to use it but both ends pop off with the slightest of pressure like the thread is non existent. I have grandbabies coming over for a cookie decorating party and no cookies. Will Avanti refund? What brand should I buy?
I thought i was losing my mind – 2 hours of frustration and watching videos thinking i was doing something wrong...only to read the reviews and that everyone is experiencing the end popping off when you push the trigger to press out a cookie. Absolutely useless...how did it get past testers to be marketed in the first place is beyond me! 2 hours ill never get back!
No spare parts! – I needed to get new nozzles for this. Avanti don't sell them. I also expected them to have a wider range than those that come with the plunger, they don't! I am now going to buy another, different brand of "caulking gun".
Useless! – It just doesn’t do the job, DON’T waste your money. It is cheaply made and keeps popping off at the end where it’s supposed to screw in. It’s a rip off, Zero stars!!
Bad workmanship – I was given this as a Christmas present, and I’ve only just started using it now one and a half years later. I feel it’s too late to take it back to the shop where it was purchased from. As others have said, my cookie Press andl icing set is hopeless. The end pops out continually as soon as the dough gets pressure behind it. I have used softer… Read more
dough to try and overcome this, but it makes no difference. It’s faulty workmanship . Where the nozzle is screwed onto just cannot withstand any pressure and the end keeps popping off. I’m giving up now I’ve tried for hours today to fix it and to use different doughs but I will not be using it any more. I normally buy Avanti products because I feel they generally work very well. However, this is a nightmare and thoroughly disappointing.
Dont waste your money – I purchased the Avanti cookie press after comparing reviews of all those on the market. I used it once and didn't even get through a batch of dough before the plastic end kept popping off when trying to use it. I had to wash it repeatedly between refills as dough was getting between the cookie discs and the tube. It is cheaply made and… Read more
burdensome to use. I'm now trying to find a way to stop the plastic screw on ends to stay on the tube without popping off at the slightest pressure.
Avanti Cookie Press and Icing set – Don't waste your money! The plastic attachment to the press is useless. it should have bee made out of the same material as the icing tube. I used it about 3 times and the plastic attachment disc on the inside broke. Now it wont work properly! Better off buying a plastic piping bag for $8.00 like I did and use that!
So Disappointed – Received as an early Christmas present this year 2021 and the first time I used it the plastic ring cracked so now it’s useless. So disappointed. Was looking really forward to making biscuits with it for Xmas.
This is a cookie nightmare!!!! – I have been looking to use this unit for ages. I currently have an all plastic unit for icing and meringues but it is old, small and I was looking for the real deal. What I received was a real nightmare. After researching various cookie dough recipes and deciding on the best sugar cookie.... this biscuit press was a nightmare. Dough too warm -… Read more
stuck to the press and created a mess. Dough too cold - both threads broke and had to rethread multiple times. Hostly ? Plastic ends on an aluminium tube is a disaster just waiting to happen. I tried multiple batches at differing temperatures and got more mess and frustration each time. I would not recommend this press for biscuits. I can't wait to try it with meringue mixture.
Not worth buying – Biggest disappointment ever - plastic end broke the first time I used it! It came with no instructions whatsoever, no suggested recipes. I will try to buy one that is all metal, no plastic.
Avanti provided a replacement – Further to my review above I finally managed to contact Avanti and they shipped out a replacement (after the plastic cap cracked under minimal pressure as others have reported). It is exactly the same product and I've not tried it yet but will look for a lighter cookie mix than the one I used to use.
Looks are deceiving – Received this for Christmas so only used a couple of times. Doesn't hold very much icing or cream so have to refill often. More importantly on my 3rd use I noticed the top cracked off. Then in the middle of the night we heard a crash in the kitchen only to discover the next day the handle had somehow with pressure from the spring had dislodged… Read more
and flew across the room. Totally useless and there is absolutely no contact number for Avanti anywhere.
Great fun! – Bought this many years ago, only just got around to suing for first time. Watched a few video recipes, glad I used the tip to use a buttered tray not paper and stick in fridge first - made big difference. Only downside is that it doesn’t hold much dough, got to keep refilling. Love the pretty shapes.
Do not purchase – Two uses - couldn't handle dough - thread on metal was not able to lock onto the plastic and kept popping off. Had to remove dough soften & lighten and try again - still couldn't handle pressure - then plastic cracked. As it was a Chrissy present - no receipt, so I am having to ask my daughter to see if she can find a proof of purchase. This is a waste of time and money. This is not a product that kitchen shops should stock.
Don't bother – I used it ONCE to ice a cake. The plastic screw piece that holds the pipes in place cracked. This rendered the tool useless. I then tried to use it to make cookies but getting the consistency right for the dough to go through the different discs was difficult. As I couldn't return it I bought a hose clip to hold the pipes in place. Now it is useable.
Disappointing - plastic lid should be metal – I've previously used all-metal cookie presses and this model wasn't coping with the cookie dough I've always used. Lid kept popping off then it broke completely: it's useless. I am now trying to contact the manufacturer with great difficulty.
A piece of junk – I bought this some time ok and my son and I just decided to use it. I found it to be very poorly made. Basically if the cookie dough or icing is quite stiff the plastic ends pop off the metal pipe. This happened again and again until I gave up in disgust. My son was very disappointed. I am back to bags and cookie cutters. Ends popped off under normal amount of pressure.
Good all rounder – My husband bought me this for Christmas, not what I would usually pick up as I have only ever used icing bags but it was a pleasant surprise. It's quite versatile making it easy to interchange piping nozzles when cake decorating and fits all the standard piping tips. It also doesn't make half the mess a typical bag will. The cookie press is easy… Read more
to use and makes the different shapes though it only makes very small 'baby size' cookies. All in all it's a pretty cool devise the only thing I could say against it is that it doesn't give you the smooth hand motion you would get with a piping bag. Clean up is quick as the whole thing easily comes apart. Clean, easy for my young son to use Doesn't quite give the mobile freedom a piping bag will
