Mould growing under the cover – Noticed a strong musty smell when opening the plastic around the brand new mattress. It was sickening. I quickly removed it from the nursery and unzipped part of the cover (which had large areas of stitching that had come undone before it had even been unpacked). There I found obvious fungal growth. In my opinion, this is dangerous, especially for newborns without fully developed immune systems. Babyhood makes claims about allergies and avoiding 'dangerous' foam in the product description on the website, but at the factory it is obviously a different story.
