taking it back to the shop for a refund – Bought it Saturday, used it Sunday, taking it back for a refund on Monday. I used a St/St Marcato 150 previously and it is a lot more solid and robust than this model but more $$ too. Tried this one - mine had a fault with the dial which was really flimsy as well, and the spaghetti roller cutter did not cut the spaghetti properly either - didn't… Read more
cut right through and left it all joined together. Not good. Don't buy it. Wider than other models on the market A fault with the 'width dial' (not set properly to the width numbers), and the spaghetti roller-cutter did not cut the strands properly.
Lasted Five Minutes – Well, my Baccarat pasta machine lasted all of five minutes. The dial popped it's gears and the widest roller settings refused to work. As a big bloke, maybe I was a bit too hard on it. Maybe I was trying to push too much pasta dough through it. But I expected more. It looks good. Not sturdy, broke quickly
Good Basic Pasta Maker – I had never made pasta before I bought this machine so I can't compare it with others, but I can say that after reading the instructions I found it very easy to use and it performed all it's functions as it should. I am very happy with it and don't have any major complaints. I have not had a problem with the dial as some others have had. Simple, easy to use. Clamp could be better
The roller adjustment is a pain – Have to agree with other reviews . I used my pasta maker twice before the flimsy roller adjustment failed. I can still cut the pasta fine , but have returned to rolling the pasta myself. Can't see this lasting long before I chuck the past maker , a little disappointed with the claimed quality Italian design Neat compact nice looking design Doesn't work, frankly
I'm so glad I have this machine! – As the Pasta Master is a mid-range machine, my expectations weren't very high. However this little machine has blown me away. It is super sturdy, compact, extremely simple to use, and does exactly what it should do with minimal effort. It is wide enough to do good sized lasagna sheets but doesn't take up a lot of room, and the fettuccine/spaghetti… Read more
attachments are spot on too. The only tiny issue I had was the first few times I used it there was a slight residue from the rollers. To avoid this just do a quick run through with a scrap piece of pasta, making sure to run it along the edges. Other than that this machine is perfect and I would gladly buy one for a friend or family member to use. Lifetime guarantee, easy to use, works perfectly.
OK – Okay for the price, and great for a beginner. But if/when you are ready for serious pasta making, go for a more robust model. Easy to assemble and use I found it very difficult to set the thickness as the rollers kept opening. I had this problem from when I purchased it and now it is totally useless, even though I have not used it much at all. … Read more
Truth is, it's been sitting unused in my cupboard for years but now I'm retired I have the time to make pasta but the machine won't stay in "gear", the same problem mentioned above.
Good – Overall if you are into cooking slow and producing as much as your own food from scratch then this is for you But take note I find that the pasta you make has not got the preserves or shelf life as bought dough and should be eaten not long after making. That is why nothing beats freshly homemade pasta and you can really taste the difference. I was… Read more
one that thought it would be interesting to try and make my own pasta and had no trouble use Baccarat I really enjoyed it. it was very simple and straight forward, quite affordable, easy to clean & put away. truth is I am quite a fit guy but if you are wanting to do large amount of pasta, These hand turn machines could really take it out of you. That aside I only really had one difficulty and that was. I thought the Spindale wheel catch on the edge actually can spread the two roles further apart for fatter size Pasta dough but it needs to be clasped into one of the hole provided by the Spindale wheel, either wise it just spins around until it finds a hole. So you really have to hand role it down to a fair small size before you put it through the Baccarat.
