every piece needed cutting or adjusting in some part, the pre-stained bits! well they are not even dressed. We had to sand them all back and stain again. WOW! worst part is that all 6 of the uprights are bowed to at least 50mm out from top to bottom. This company claims that they are a small aussie business trying to have a go... trying to rip people off is more accurate! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS!

missing - I call them, they are full of apologies and they "forgot to actually add it to the order" they will get it out by next week (3 days) - including the 2 missing HIP items - at end of following week I email and get a response that it will be sent in next 2 days direct to my house and here we are 5 days later and still no delivery - I call them and he says I should have it now - which I clearly don't - now I have to wait for him to email me the tracking info so I can chase it up!! Very quick to offer lots of excuses and Jon the sales person talks over the top of you so you cant voice your opinion - their calls are also "screened" by a messaging service - who will put you through only once you tell them why you are calling. Really wish I'd found this site before we ordered!! If I dont get an email with legit tracking my next call will be to the ACCC.

1 Star is overly generous! WORST COMPANY EVER!!! – We ordered an 8x4m Bali Hut with decking ( for a deck to sit 0.5m off the ground. Firstly order arrived 2.5 weeks late. We spent about $1700 on materials to build the deck so it was structurally sound ( as this is our yoga studio, so safety a priority ) - Jon the salesman is exactly that, super lovely and helpful leading up to the purchase and then when it came to all the issues, hard to get a hold of unhelpful and still 4 weeks later have not been reimbursed for the decking stumps that were meant to be sent. The thatching and roof itself is great - but my advice is DO NOT PURCHASE A DECK FROM THEM! Also $6500 for a Bali hut roof and some shitty treated pine that couldn’t even be used ! What a joke! Also I’ve notice the positive reviews on here are not from verified purchases so be warned! Our hut has cost us close to $15000 including the extra materials and builders labour ( because no you can’t just put it up yourselves ) - it looks amazing but only because of how much extra we spent on it and wouldn’t want to give any credit to this Shonks of a company

they delivered on time, had the best prices, friendly knowledgeable staff and kept me informed of all proceedings. If you need anything to do with Bali huts, definitely give these guy's a go

Cannot follow instructions and then don't reply to emails - absolute shonks – I, like other hesitated before I purchased from Bali & African Thatch Huts however, I made an incredible mistake. I travel for work so I explicitly requested that the hut be delivered during a specific week, however, clearly, the company cannot follow directions. Still Waiting – I ordered my hut in mid December- told 4 weeks maximum. Well, here we are at the end of February and still no hut! We had hoped to have it installed before my sister visited from overseas but that time has come and gone and now, so has summer! Paid all my money over on January 21 so I think I need to go to VISA to get them to chase it up, as they are not even answering my calls or emails. Think I have been scammed also :( So disappointed.

the communications became more difficult. Most calls went to voicemail. I had to chase up daily. I received the hut kit on 9 February; but am still waiting on the plans - I was chasing this up via email and text every few days for about 10 weeks, I have now given up and will organise my own plans/certification.

We had some issues with the assembly. We had to purchase stumps and nails for the deck, as the ones that were supplied were unsuitable and would have popped out after a short time. We also had to purchase extra decking timber, as the majority of the supplied boards were 900mm long or less. We also had to retrofit an extra 6 rafters/collars; which turned up out of the blue, in the week following the first delivery.

Having said all this, the hut is looking good. However, the supplier offered to compensate me around $100 towards the extra $700 of materials I had to buy to finish the hut - but they have never sent us the money. They also have now told me that the plans are finally ready, but they are trying to charge us an extra $600. They will not confirm that the plans are certified, so it looks like we are not even getting what we ordered. So we are now forced to get our own plans/certification.

It should be noted that I have been cc'ing the customer service manager on my emails for the past 3 months, but he has never made any comment or offered to assist.

I ended up with an OK hut, but the experience has been very unpleasant overall. And I am now going to have to organise my own certification. In hindsight, I didn't save any money by going through this cheap operator - and right from the start my spidey senses were tingling. Should have listened to my intuition.

I will not be using these guys again.

I have paid for my Hut completely as asked, and now heading into the second week, and no hut or disp – This company is real keen to bend over to help you until they get your money. I have a receipt to say payment has been completed. It has almost been 2 weeks, I have been sending emails and phoning the company on their mobile and the 1300 number, I have left messages with out any reply. I now fear this company is a scam company.. I would suggest any buyer beware...

Terrible Experience - Scam company – We ordered a kit Bali hut from this company. They talk the talk and satisfied any queries we had. They take your 20% deposit and a few days later tell you your kit is ready. This is when they take full payment and from then on make all the excuses under the sun why you haven't received your order. They are also know as Exotic Lifestyle Living. Beware!!! stay clear of this dodgy company.
