Barnes Clariti Ultra Clear Epoxy Resin

Poor quality products and a "don't care" attitude sums up Barnes nicely. Purchased "UV stabilised" Barnes resin, which went the colour of urine after 6 months inside out of the sun. Barnes' "customer blame" department could not have cared less. $500 down the drain. There's much, much better resin out there. Avoid Barnes products.
Do Not use Barnes Epoxy – Both the product and my experience with Barnes was terrible. I contacted them about faulty/ unusable resin they sent me, and they didn’t care or do anything about it. Over $500 down the drain. Show details
Clariti is AMAZING – Struggling to find more of this product, but its super easy to work with, getting my room temp right or making sure I within the potlife time its just perfect for my wee lil jewelry bits and bobs hehe I now have to look for something else that can live up to its standards!! This just a short blip of the pieces I made in 2020, I have been using it since then but my most recent purchase was in August 2021 Show details
This is perfect for an expert or a beginner like me – After seeing some impressive resin artworks i decided to try it myself.I shopped around online and I found Barnes and their prices were very good in comparison and their website was very professional so I decided to give them a go.So happy that I did!I have purchased a variety of products from them in the last couple of years and I have always… Read more
been very impressed with every aspect of their business. The sales staff are very friendly and helpful, the delivery is always prompt, and their products are top-notch.I have no hesitation in scoring them 5stars.Their epoxy resin in particular is so easy to use and give a terrific result every time.Even a beginner like me has made some fine pieces of art and beautified some table-tops.Highly recommended!
Barnes - Shocking customer service – I recently bought the 1.5 kg kit of Epoxycast Resin directly from Barnes rather than from a hobby shop (as I usually do). When the package arrived, the Part B Hardener was yellow. I know from experience with resins that the hardener goes yellow with age. All non-UV stable resins will do this, but should have a shelf life of about 12-18 months. … Read more
This batch is quite yellow. I sent a photo of the yellow batch alongside the remains of the previous batch (totally clear) and after several emails and phone calls, got nowhere. They refused to admit that there was anything wrong with the batch of resin they sent me and insisted it is naturally yellow, despite me saying that I have bought the product several times and it is always clear. Their own MSDS describes it as clear and colourless! It is obviously old stock, but now I'm stuck with it. It will affect the quality of my pieces and I'm angry and upset because this resin isn't cheap and while I like the Barnes resins, I'm very unhappy with this batch.
Deceptive and misleading product description – Barnes is a substantial supplier of epoxys, coulorants, silicone, and molds to the art and craft market. It markets this product as: "CLARITI is a two part low viscosity, ultra-clear epoxy resin used in potting and casting applications where an exceptionally clear resin is required. CLARITI exhibits excellent air release properties & its higher… Read more
cured hardness allows it to be ground and polished. It is ideal for use in casting objects such as jewellery, decorative tableware, ornaments & lenses."
What they don't tell you is that once exposed to any UV sunlight, it darkens to a revolting sepia yellow. I spent over a $1000 on jewellery findings (mounting plates) and dozens of hours working to create my jewellery for sale, only to have it totally ruined on my first market day.
