ALDI Bauhn FPA 38558 Flat Panel Antenna Questions & Answers

I do not see them listed atm. I got it at the end of March some years ago so, just a guess: they may sell the unit again around that time of the year. BTW there may be alternative flat antennas around.

It’s better than the big antenna on my roof. Trouble is l cannot find any more. where can l buy another one ????.

Have not seen it advertised recently at Aldi (06 Oct 2022).

I have one for sale new in box but was taken out of the box but needed satalite dish.

Aldi sells them (as "Special Buy") but only once or twice a year. I bought the unit in March so you may have to keep an eye on Aldi catalogues.

I am afraid that you may have to wait until Aldi put the unit on sale again. Keep an eye on Aldi's online catalogue since, as you know, Aldi has the "special buys" every Wednesday and Saturday with different things. Hint: I got the unit in March but I think Aldi repeats the sale on some other month during the year (do not know which month).

Hi Estelle I have one of these if you still require one? Only taken out of the box but not used.

I do not use PC to view TV channels so I have no need to use the USB port. However, according to the manual, USB is to be connected to computer if you use the antenna to get TV signal for PC based viewing (need to buy a dongle connecting PC to the signal port of the antenna). I think USB port is for PC to supply 5V to the antenna.

You might like to try on the (external) walls or windows facing out without facing neighbor's walls. I found that the high position seems better but no need to be higher than necessary. If your walls have Aluminium foil insulation in the cavity then it won't work (the metal foil blocks the signal - see external link  ).

What I did before: I tried out various antenna locations (using masking tape to keep it in place temporarily first) before finalizing with a screw fixed to the wall (a little tedious if you are unlucky). Located in the attic space would work if there is no metal foil insulation (eg Sisalation(R) used in roofing/walling).

If nothing works then it may be a good idea to return.

I found it best against a window, I have 2 and they work great.

As mentioned in the review, I paid $25 for the unit (new). Aldi only sells these every now and then.
