Beelink R68

Do not buy this junk, slow and sluggish as hell – I got my Beelink R68 in Malaysia from TomTop, a Beelink reseller. The performance is sluggish. Most of the time, I could hardly scroll my mouse properly. Update feature is actually just for show, don't even bother using it as there will never be an update. You'll get very annoying stutter every single time watching YouTube or any video. Web browsing is horrible. They should fix their software or maybe even hardware. I've never seen such slow performance in such hardware before.

Buggy firmware; Andriod OS not ready for TV Boxes – While this is an attractive, well built box with great hardware specs, it is let down terribly by its buggy android firmware and poor remote control. The remote is of poor quality; very unresponsive; and has no media controls (e.g. Stop, Play, Pause), which are mandatory for any set top box. Teaching my Logitech remote the few commands it had at least gave me a better experience, but no stop or pause.
Android is a touch screen OS, it has not yet been adapted for TV Box navigation (which works through arrow keys). Your mileage will vary in apps: Netflix and Kodi work well (the developers need to code for such control in addition to touch), ABC iView did not. While you can emulate a mouse with the remote. It is very tedious.
The firmware for this device is limited and terribly buggy. Netflix audio and video were out of synch, which made the app unusable. I had to flash the box with a different Android firmware, and this certainly fixed the Netflix and a host of other issues (possibly up to a 4 star review), but given what you get out of the box, I would not recommend this device, or Android as an OS for a TV Box.
