I first tried Bega cheese at their factory tour about 9 months ago. We bought a toasted ham and cheese sandwich. We both immediately agreed that it was the best Ham and Cheese toastie that we'd ever had. Incredibly I had continued to buy the Coon cheese slices that we've bought for 40 years. Two weeks ago I bought some Bega cheese and had… Read more

forgotten about the cheese factory holiday experience.

I'll never buy anything else now.

Bega is streets ahead in flavour and cheesyness. Beautiful cheese

clumpy bega cheese slices – have told manufacturer twice about this product and no reply. This is not a cheap cheese, impossible to separate , crumbly and stuck together. My advice, buy the no name product , at least you can have slices instead of a clumpy bloody mess. Lift your game Bega and take notice of complaints, perhaps its a problem at your end. Show details

Ripped Off – I regret to say the Bega Cheese I bought recently was the worst cheese I have ever purchased. It was very very dry and tasteless. Not impressed. We always have 2 or 3 different types of cheese at home. I am sure you can do better. Show details

Disappointing – The slices crumble and fall apart, they are too thin. Show details

Cheap plastic cheese that doesnt melt – This cheese used to be the most fantastic i've ever found, now it crumbles, as in you cannot seperate pieces and it doesn't melt and tastes sour, now @ $12.50 a 30 pack, i would've and did still pay this hoping it was just three packs that were bad last fortnight, but this product continues to be horrible as i've retested again tonight, and is… Read more

like plastic on heating...absolutely disgusting...never again..my last purchase was 3 packets of these for this coming fortnight which i buy every fortnight, but i will never buy this product again...the photos attached after after 30 minutes cooking on a pizza at 200°- you can see the cheese did not melt...latest packet of vintage cheese nearly a 1/5th of a pack missing with the latest purchase!!!

Slices are too thin – This was previously a great product, but it's now too difficult to use because the slices are too thin. Did they do this to somehow provide less for the same price? It's not a cheap product anyway, so I'll be purchasing a different product in the future. Show details

Such a failure of a sliced cheese – Have purchased Bega strong and bitey vintage cheese for quite some time. My last purchase was 24th April 2023 thru Woolies. The manufacture process and recipe has changed. I have noticed a change in quality, overall. There is always a strong smell of sulphur when opening the pack, not the pungent smell of cheese. Also the slices are not easy to… Read more

remove and break apart. The texture of the cheese is almost like plastic cheese, thin and with a waxy plastic feel. And the final disappointment is it melts like plastic cheese. I’ve had a number of other issues such as discolouration around edges and mis cut slices that gave a deformed shape and slivers of cheese. Persevered out of loyalty. However Bega not wasting my money on an expensive inferior cheese anymore.

First purchase 5 stars second purchase 1 star – Just switched to this cheese recently. The first large sliced pack I purchased was pungent and very tasty. The second pack was like elastic and tasteless. Unsure if I'll purchase it again. If it was like the first pack I would. Probably try a different brand. Show details

Too much is wasted – Bega Strong and Bitey Vintage Cheddar Cheese 30 pack - impossible to remove slices without having them falling apart and wasting far too much. Makes it a very expensive product. Don’t recall the same thing happening with Kraft. The slices are just too thin and packed too tightly.
