Supreme! – The best plant based patties you can get. I’ve tried 20+ but none compare to the taste and texture of Beyond Burger. My absolute fav!

Ordinary vegie burgers – I purchased 2 vegie burgers from the fresh Deli at Coles Knox City and was very disappointed in the quality They were very dry and rubbery and tasted really stale Will never buy again !

Wow, forget the other brands, this is Supreme – Tasty, hearty and so not boring. I’ve tried the other brands that are trying to copy beyond burger and they do not match up in taste at all. I hope they survive in Australia as I am addicted. I would so love to see all the other products hit the shelves as well. They make the best hamburger filling, which my entire family just love when I make them. Great stuff. Show details

Ever heard about how these are *so* good? – I could have been one of the people telling you so, but in the past year, Beyond Burger has either changed its recipe, or just disappeared altogether and sold off the brand, because their patties are now almost indistiguishable from the competition. That means they're certainly edible, and you can work with them, but they are no longer the amazing patty that stands out in flavour and juiciness. Boring, bland and a lot like the others, sadly.

Meat eating change of heart – I've eaten veggie burgers for years and always loved a good meat burger. Recently I decided to go vegetarian to aleiviate some health issues. I've tried substitute meat burgers in their inception but there has been a distinct difference between meat and synthesised meat. Not being absolutely decided, I gave Beyond Burgers a go and I'm blown away… Read more

how far these products have come. This is difficult to explain so I'll just say, if you told someone you were making burgers and they assumed they were meat, they'd probably not know this burger was plant based, they are that good!! If this group can refrain from filling the products with fillers and cheaper products, these burgers have a great future in sustainable foods. Great job guys, keep it up.

Smelt like Weetbix when cooking - struggled to finish my burger – Two burgers in Australia cost $11.00 but I made sure I bought them on special for $2 off. I had read a lot online about them and how 'wonderful' they were so I decided to give them a go. Foolishly I expected a lot. I mean people raved about them. Cooked as per instruction. Had it on a burger with vegan aioli, fried onion, beetroot, and dill… Read more

pickle. I seriously struggled. I wanted to give this burger a chance. The rest of the burger was fine - I was tempted to remove it but I wanted so desperately to give it a chance It tasted as it smelt - a shade of Weetbix. I have no idea of the ingredients. I trusted they were vegan (they are) and I trusted the many reviews read. Sorry folks but the uncooked patty is in my freezer. Anyone want it?

The best you can get – It's juicy, extremely tasty, looks the part, and in my opinion tastes better than beef patties by far. And the fact that it has NO SOY is hands down my first pick every time. It's a bit expensive but 100% worth it ($12 for 2 patties). Show details

Not a vegan but this tastes amazing – I'm not a vegan but i'm always looking for healthier options to eat and I came across this on a date night out and I honestly think I like the taste better than actual beef. It was a little bit expensive but worth it. Show details

It is a great product , I also went to the fine food festival which had some reps there showcasing the beyond sausage which should be coming to Australia sometime 2020. It is a great burger, has the right texture, not too soft, not too hard, dosnt taste like… Read more

Comparison of 3 plant-based meat free products – As someone who has eaten their share of hamburgers and spaghetti bolognese, but now has a mostly vegetarian diet, I thought I would do a comparison of 3 meat-free, plant-based products. - Bean Supreme Black Bean & Beetroot Burger - Beyond Burger Plant Based Burger Patties - The Alternative Meat Co. Plant Based Mince I tried to prepare each of… Read more

these products in exactly the same way I would prepare their meat-based cousins. I pan fried the burger patties in olive oil. I then added a layer of cheese on top of the burger and grilled it. I then added them to a buttered toasted bun with beetroot, lettuce, pickle and a dab of mayonaise. The Bean Supreme Black Bean & Beetroot Burger is a very dense, heavy and fairly dry pattie. The taste is pleasant and does not try to imitate the taste of meat. The texture is firm and chewy and quite meat-like. When you take this product out of the packaging it is heavily covered in an oil-like substance (it could be oil) which is a bit off-putting at first. The biggest problem I had with this Bean Supreme burger is the density and dryness of it. It definitely needs a sauce and/or cheese to make the mouth-feel less dry. I would also recommend slicing the pattie through the middle and only using half of it, as it is very difficult to eat a whole one.

The Beyond Burger Plant Based Burger Patties are a far superior product to the previous one. Again I would recommend slicing them through the middle and only using half a pattie per burger as they are very filling. The taste is very pleasant indeed and the texture is quite meat-like.

Three family members tried the Beyond Burger pattie and the Bean Supreme burger pattie. We all enjoyed the Beyond pattie and would definitely eat it again. No one was able to finish the Bean Supreme pattie as it is so dense. Two of the three family members would not try it again.

And now for the big disappointment, The Alternative Meat Co. Plant Based Mince. This product looks like mince meat and that's about the most positive thing I can say about it. I followed the pack instructions and pan fried it first in olive oil to brown it. I then added a good quality bottle of bolognese tomato-based sauce to the mince and cooked it for a few minutes. I served the bolognese over a plate of spaghetti pasta noodles. I noticed when I was frying the mince that it did not hold it's stringy shape like real meat does. It turned into a slightly congealed mass not unlike fried bean paste. The taste is very ordinary indeed. Not unlike red beans. However it is the texture and mouth feel that really put me off. The texture is not at all like real minced red meat. It is mushy and a bit like a bean paste. Awful.

Of the three products, the Beyond Burger Plant Based Burger Patties is by far the best product and the tastiest.
