0 stars - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Birdeye have charged my account over $5500 without authorisation. I contacted Birdeye to advise that I would not be renewing my contract due to very poor outcomes from their service and I specifically stated that I did not authorise any further deductions to be taken from my account. Two weeks later the money was taken from my account. Birdeye are ignoring all contact attempts and have not refunded the money.

Update: Edited – UPDATE 22/11/2024: Full refund of disputed months received, review edited to reflect this and all other complaints discontinued. We cancelled month to month service with Birdeye in early September. We have since been charged for September, October and now November with written confirmation the payment status was expired (They also advised this… Read more

in September). They rarely respond to emails and the responses we have received only address half of the issues raised.

I highly recommend you save yourself the hassle and spend your money with any business other than Birdeye. There are multiple others that offer the same/similar services and act ethically.

We'll continue to act on this through other means.

I took time off work to take this call and losing money for NOBODY TO SHOW UP! No email or response to say where the person was. I tried again and was told another call was organised. AGAIN NOBODY SHOWED UP FOR AN HOUR!!! WHAT A JOKE AND A WASTE OF MY TIME! I’m still yet to receive a respond to my last 2 emails about cancelling and at this point I will be filing an official complaint with consumer affairs. My First 12 months – I just renewed by subscription after our first 12 months after switching from another company with a similar platform. I was really impressed with the initial onboarding process run by Rabih and we have seen some really good results mainly from the reviews and webchat part of the platform. they won't let you out of it, tell you repeatedly their legal team says it's not possible, and then you are on the hook for the whoppingly overpriced yearly package again. A very shady contract, especially when the service isn't great, and the platform isn't that user friendly. I had a meeting with a Birdeye consultant and they were in their car! Not the professionalism you expect when paying such an exorbitant fee.

 Follow-up  · Still in a holding pattern with Birdeye. Despite multiple attempts to contact them, we have received no answer. Customer service is terrible. Sometimes it's not about what the platform can do, but the service surrounding it, and I would suggest anyone looking for a service like Birdeye, look elsewhere, as there are a lot of products on the market like theirs with better customer service.

Birdeye Review – Ongoing Dispute Escalated to QCAT

Our experience with Birdeye has been extremely disappointing and has now escalated to formal proceedings through QCAT.

From the beginning, we were sold a comprehensive, high value service package, including marketing campaigns, automation tools, and tailored engagement strategies. In reality, what was delivered was a very basic platform with minimal functionality and little to no meaningful implementation of what was promised during the sales process.

Despite paying approximately $440 per month, the actual service provided was limited to a simple automated response system, with ongoing delays and lack of follow through on any requested improvements or deliverables.

The most serious issue has been around cancellation and billing practices.

We made multiple clear and direct requests to cancel the subscription and not proceed with renewal. These requests were communicated explicitly over a period of time due to our dissatisfaction with the service. Despite this, the subscription continued, and charges were processed regardless.

In addition, we continued to receive repeated phone calls attempting to upsell additional services, even after making it clear that we did not wish to continue in any capacity. This was both disruptive and inappropriate given the circumstances.

When formally challenged, we were advised there was “no record” of our cancellation requests, which does not align with our documented communication history. We have retained written evidence and screenshots supporting our position.

Due to the lack of resolution and ongoing billing concerns, we have now escalated this matter to QCAT for formal review.

Based on our experience, I would strongly advise other businesses not to engage with Birdeye at all and to seek alternative providers with transparent practices and reliable service delivery.

Apparently my situation was very rare - I have no way of knowing how true that is. But I have since had senior people contact me and arrange a refund. After days and weeks of desperately trying to get issues resolved by going public on LinkedIn under their profiles after local staff blocked my number and email (yes even as a paying customer). AVOID!!! Negative stars. These guys are scammers. They will pursue you relentlessly to get the sale - and ww you with all the amazing features it has. But then you have to pay for a year upfront and the second that payment clears you're screwed. They have got NO ISSUES AT ALL taking hard-earned money off small business owners with empty promises and zero intention of delivering service. they set things up incorrectly and have no reason for why it's happened. They don't anything they say they will, the platform doesn't do what they tell you it can, you raise issues and good luck getting anyone to get back to you. If you do schedule a support call it's 50/50 if they'll cancel the scheduled call on you, or turn up super late. They make promises about fixing things that they don't intend to keep. They will NOT put you in touch with anyone senior to talk about issues on the phone. They simply ignore your emails about blatant lack of functionality and access issues. They don't care if the tool is costing you business. They will not let you out of your contract. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

They previously told me I hadn’t given them enough notice even though I had said I wanted out of contract 3 months in advance.. 1 year later and multiple emails , still taking money out!! "confirmed that a 30 day notice period was agreed upon". As a "gesture of goodwill", they offered a $100 credit over the next 3 months! I requested evidence of agreeing to 30 days and also noted that if they could produce it, I would agree only to 30 days of additional payment and certainly not agree to another 12 months. No response and another full payment taken out, leaving me with no choice but to cancel our debit card and dispute the transaction with the bank. Hugely inconvenient.

enough review requests was a huge headache.

Hope you never need to cancel, as this requires a minimum 90 days notice (!!!) before your renewal date, or the contract renews for another 12-month period.

No renewal notice or reminder received, terrible company to deal with.
