 AI reviews summary

Feedback indicates that BlossomUp is perceived as a deceptive service that uses "bait-and-switch" tactics to enrol users in expensive, unauthorised subscriptions. The vast majority of users report completing a "free" or low-cost personality test, only to be charged recurring monthly fees of approximately $30 to $50 AUD shortly thereafter. Recurring themes include the inability to cancel through the website and a lack of transparency regarding the subscription model.

Pros
Occasional support responsiveness: A small number of users reported that customer service processed refunds quickly once a formal complaint or ticket was submitted.
Detailed report content: One user found the deep-dive analysis of their cognitive style and stress habits to be accurate and more insightful than generic online quizzes.
Cons
Deceptive billing practices: Users are frequently charged high recurring fees (up to $45 AUD) after paying a nominal one-time fee for quiz results, often without clear disclosure or consent.
Difficulty cancelling: The platform lacks a functional cancellation button or login system for many users, forcing them to contact their banks to cancel cards or block future transactions.
Hidden paywalls: Tests are advertised as free, but users must invest significant time (15–30 minutes) before being informed that results are locked behind a payment screen.
Generic or poor-quality results: Aside from rare exceptions, users describe the paid reports as vague, "fluff," or content that could be found for free elsewhere online.
Verdict

BlossomUp is overwhelmingly described as a predatory service that prioritises hidden subscription revenue over legitimate psychological testing. Prospective users should be extremely cautious, as many have had to cancel their credit cards to stop unauthorised recurring charges.

1 Mick  · They set up recurring charge of £24.95 a month. Very sneaky. Crooks. Blossom Up crooks.
1 Chelsea C.  · Free test needs $2.95 AUD to get the results, and maybe a subscription. I don't care they wasted 12 minutes of my life!
1 Rory K  · Deceptive. Offer "free" test then want $2.95 for the result, but that actually masks a $45 a month subscription. AVOID.
1 Jaclyn S.  · Sat through doing a test only for it to ask for money at the end for results. What a waste of time
1 Annoyed  · Scam! Auto subscribes you to an expensive monthly fee. Total rip-off
1 rataandroo  · Waste of time, spend time answering questions only to have a final page popup requiring payment before seeing the result. Not blooding paying for it after that.

Scam. Incredibly deceptive and try to sneak recurring charges on you with misleading language and “test results” that are hard to find. Just another scam which you should avoid at all costs.

BlossomUP presents itself as a survey and insights platform, but the business model tells a different story. They collect your opinions and personal data, package it up, and onsell it to third parties — then charge you to access your own results. You're not the customer; you're the product, and somehow you're also paying for the privilege. What… Read more

makes this particularly harmful is the effect on survey participation more broadly. When people feel exploited by platforms like this, they stop responding to surveys — and that has real consequences. Surveys fund public health research, policy decisions, and social programs that genuinely benefit communities. BlossomUP is undermining trust in a tool that society actually needs, all to line their own pockets. Greedy, cynical, and not worth a second of your time.

Deceptive marketing and dodgy as hell. Came across 2 transactions of $1.50 and $1.45 on a joint account with a reference to Blossomup. Did a bit of research and then asked the misses whether she had done any surveys/tests, which she had. She was unaware that there was a subscription associated with the survey/test and at no time agreed to a… Read more

subscription.

Seems you have about 1 week from the time of the event and was lucky by going to their website was able to cancel the subscription. No charge yet so that looks promising.

Absolute scam, will deceive you into paying for a subscription and then make it impossible for you to cancel. I was unable to login to my account to cancel my subscriptions as they like to add fake links that do nothing whatsoever but claim to send a link to your email either changing your password or cancelling your subscription, conveniently… Read more

none of their emails would come through until I submitted a customer support ticket, at which point conveniently I immediately get an email confirming they'd received the support ticket. After that, I received a password change link in my email.

Except it doesn't do anything; I again saved the information to my browser, I cannot possibly be misspelling the email or password. The site is just a blatant scam and directly lies to you, sends you fake links and drains your bank account

It seems I literally cannot cancel this subscription unless I go in-person into my bank and ask them, I have never in my life had a worse experience with any service

They offer a cancellation service that doesn’t allow you to cancel. You cannot enter the site or login or get in touch. You get a site doesn’t exist page. And when you find a login page it won’t accept your login details or send you a reset. They are a scam and do not use. Absolute cr#p.

Gave these guys 20 min doing a survey about politics, and they wanted payment at the end. Jokers The questions wasn't relevant either. Will not use again. Fake scam probably end up tied in to monthly subscription. Obviously im not that st^pid to give payment details but was st^pid enough to click on the link

Follow-up  · • i followed a link claiming to be able to determine my political alignment out of idle curiosity • the questions seemed a bit byist, irrelevant and a bit silly. No impartiality • after 10 questions the penny dropped that i wouldn't get.my results from questionnaire until a payment or subscription was made. • upon completing the survey, I seen… Read more

scam, avoid at all cost, Do not attempt the test, you will waste 15 minutes of your time with no result unless you pay, 2 dollars is nothing but because they only want you card details. Beware.

Scam site. Ropes you in with some interesting history pieces. Give them your card details you can't pull out. Cancel your card if they have your details, I had to and don't sign up to these ridiculous sites if you've had a couple.

This website is a complete scam. These people are thieves. After paying $2.95 to complete a survey I was billed $44.95 one week later without subscribing and was unable to unsubscribe so contacted my bank.

Do not give them card details. They still take monthly amount after cancellation of subscription. Do not give them their initial request of money. They do not give any value except fill up yr inbox with nonsense. Its $48.00 taken out after cancellation

I took a love languages quiz for a friend and paid $2.95 for the report which was completely useless, and didn't sign up for a subscription which they charged me $45 for. I cancelled the subscription but they are obviously a scam website. They paid google Ad words to be at the top for the five love languages quiz which they are not the authors of.

I won’t even like to give one star. It’s total SCAM guyssss a total SCAM. The initial billing and recurring billing is totally different. They cut only 2$ at first and then recurring cost take up to 40-50$ from your account. Just the worst cash grab website I have ever seen. Save yourself and others from such traps. I give zero stars

Same experience as many others: you pay a few dollars to show the results for a self-assessment and without you knowing it, they sign you up for a US$30 per month premium subscription. Stay away. It's a reminder that you should just never pay to parties you don't know well on the internet. Fortunately, the customer service was great. I requested a refund, which they gave on the same day.

A scam website and not to be trusted. I couldn’t sign in to an account to see my ‘career test’ results, and this is because no actual account was made. Once you enter your details, even if it’s for a $2 quiz, you will be charged $40 about one week later, and this will be recurring unless you take it up with your bank and close your card. Please, do not waste your time!

They get people invested by asking them to answer 50 questions and then inform them they have to pay to access the automated results. Just typical scam business model.

I went through the same thing as the rest of everyone else here. I paid for a st^pid IQ test for $.295 and I didn't realize I was actually buying a subscription. Incredibly frustrating situation and quite confusing as well. The reason I will give this service at least 3 stars is because as soon as I summited a refund, within less then 5mins the… Read more

Scammers. You do a quick generic quiz, pay a small amount like $2, and then BAM, they've put you on an expensive monthly subscription. I was able to cancel the subscription easily but they're refusing to delete my account and won't delete it unless I provide government ID and my address (with sensitive details redacted, in which case, why even ask). Dodgy as. Avoid.

I signed up for a very low-cost trial and was not aware it had converted into a recurring paid subscription. Charges continued monthly for a long period without any clear or effective visibility. The subscription did not appear in my Google subscription management tools, which I regularly check. I only discovered the ongoing charges by chance… Read more

after my bank sent a transaction verification alert while I was overseas. Neither my husband nor I recognised the transaction. The service was never used.

When I contacted the company, they acknowledged the subscription and refunded only some recent charges, refusing older ones. This business model relies on consumers missing charges rather than providing transparent subscription management. I have raised this issue through appropriate formal channels due to the seriousness of the experience.

Shocking. Uses open source/well known, cookie cutter psychological tests and heavy marketing to convince you to sign up for payment. I know that their business model means that you won't read this till its too late, but rest assured you're not the only person chasing a refund.

I completed what was advertised as a one‑time purchase, but BlossomUp later charged me nearly $50 for a subscription I never signed up for. subscription. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others to avoid this service and double‑check your bank statements if you’ve used their site. I have requested a refund for the unauthorized charge and am hoping they resolve it quickly, but this has been very frustrating and feels deceptive.

Scam. Wasted 10 minutes completing a survey to then be forced to pay to view the result. The payment should have been requested before the survey started. This platform is a scam and should be disabled!

BlossomUp is not a legitimate app. They manipulate IQ and MBTI results to push paid upgrades and illegally charge users. After realizing this, I deleted BlossomUp and switched to 16Personalities, which is actually trustworthy and not involved in deceptive practices.

I signed up for 7 day access to the site to have access to a particular test i was interested in, paid the $2.95 and was then suddenly charged a monthly subscription that I did not consent to. After I paid for this limited access I looked around my account to see if I had subscribed to anything weird and it seemed ok but I was really suspicious. … Read more

After I was charged the monthly amount I read all the other reviews about them not cancelling subscriptions so I rang my bank to cancel the bank card. Turns out that on the same day I signed up to Blossom Up, my card had been added to 2 seperate entities, whose names I did not recognise. My bank explained that this is what predatory websites/organisations do, they will keep billing you from other entities with different names. I sent Blossum Up a complaint about this and the billing receipt which only said 7 day access and surprisingly they said they would reimburse me. I just responded back saying that bank card was dead and to reimburse me at paypal. Also called them out on the 2 new entities who decided to use my card number without my knowledge! will see what happens but the lesson is check reviews online before purchasing anything online.

Finally a test that actually makes sense. I usually find these online personality quizzes to be super generic, but Blossomup was different. I was honestly expecting a one-page summary, but the report I got was a full-on deep dive into how I actually think and process things. It picked up on specific habits of mine, like how I handle stress and my "cognitive style".
