BlueAnt Commute 2
Verified2 reviews
A previously loyal BlueAnt customer but now left disappointed – I had fond memories of my old BlueAnt devices (A Supertooth light in each car). They were robust and easy to use. Based on this experience I went for the Commute 2 which had the features I wanted and looked attractive. From the start, I found this device overly complicated to use (too smart for its own good at times). The buttons for volume and answering calls are hard to use, as they are just touch areas, not actual buttons (not user friendly having to feel around on your sun visor trying not to take your eyes off the road). The side on/off button is okay once you get used to where it is (it is rather small).
When connected it seems to randomly beep from time to time, I don't know why. It seems to take a long time to connect (if it's not on, and your phone rings, even if you turn it straight away, by the time it connects, you miss the call).
The final straw for me is that even though it is just 7 months old, the on/off button has stopped working which has rendered this device unusable until I get it replaced (a considerable inconvenience have to send this item back when I thought I was paying extra for the quality of a BlueAnt product).
On the plus side, I like the look of it. The size is nice and compact. I also like that it syncs to both phones when my wife and I are both in the car so whoever is driving has the option to take the call through the BlueAnt.
Overall, disappointed. It promised much but hasn't delivered in terms of user friendliness and seems to lack the reliability of the older BlueAnt models. Better to look to another brand if you are shopping for such an item.
Waste of money – I purchased one of these because I loved the older model. I researched this one & being "Totally Hands Free" I thought this would suit us having 2 phones hooked up at the same time. Was I ever disappointed, firstly I do not know where the manufacturer got "hands free" from, I have to constantly touch the center button to give a command as the voice trigger turns off all the time, even when not on battery save mode. I don't get the chance to "answer or reject" (another feature that doesn't work) a call as it just says I have a call from who ever over & over until I again have to touch the button to answer it. When I finish the call, guess what, I have to cancel the call by touching the center button once more. I would be better off using my mobile on a dash mount and save $90. BlueAnt this is a total waste of money and you should be ashamed to market it. Your customer service is a joke from hell as the "Tech Experts" have a hard job understanding plain English. If I could give a minus score I would.
