Bluetti Solar Panel PV120
MPN: PV1201 review

Hotspots on PV120 - Bluetti in Denial – There seems to be an issue with some of the PV Solar Panels developing Hot Spots. I purchased 2 x PV120 on the 9th of July 2022 and have only sparingly used one (~20 hours of use ) and left the other PV120 in its box. These were superseded by 3 x PV350’s. (see Review - HOT SPOTS, DEFECTS and POOR Customer Service. ) After my issue with the PV350 and Bluetti’s customer service, on the 17 February 2023, I decided to pull out and take a closer look at my two PV120 panels I had originally purchased. I noticed that the panel with more usage had developed a “Hot Spot”. The browning is under the protective top layer and appears like a burn mark or Hot Spot.
Initially I assumed it was some pollen etc but upon closer examination it was apparent that the blemish was inside the panel.
These panels are not cheap and only have a 12 month warranty.
I have had a similar, but more dramatic issue, with one of the PV350’s purchased to supersede the PV120’s.
I’m surprised, these “Hot Spot faults” have arisen only after a few weeks of use, in both the PV350 and PV120.
IN SUMMARY...... I have 3 x PV350’s that I use regularly and 2x PV120’s that I use sparingly. I also have 2 x PV350’s which I purchased for my mother in storage.
The appearance of Hot Spots for these panels is 33% for the PV350 and 50% for the PV120 from my sample.
