Cloudiness in the cavity after a couple of washes – I purchased two of the double-wall mugs with silicon plugs in the bases. They are great for keeping the coffee hot, but after just a few uses, a distinct cloudiness developed between the layers of glass - right round the rim and other blotches here and there. I can still use them but the appearance is off-putting. I would never serve a drink to… Read more
a guest in one. I had not thought it necessary to keep my receipt, so Sauvage Urban in Woden ACT declined to take them back.
Extremely fragile glass – Not sure if it was the spoon in the glass, or the air pressure/temperature that caused the bottom of my inner glass to crack, but I realised much too late that I may have swallowed a glass shards or two. The glass is less than a mm thick, they may be "double walled" but definitely not double strength. Dangerous.

Great set of glasses but fragile – I loved the bodum pavina glasses, either for drinking coffee or cold drinks. They look great, and I was shattered when one of the glasses broke whilst washing by hand. Show details
A great product – Have rarely written any reviews, but felt I had to put one up after reading these. Have had these glasses, both 250ml and 350ml for around 3 years. One broke out of 14 glasses, my fault. At least one glass is used daily. I use both microwave and dishwasher. They are great and look great. In fact, love them so much that I gave 3 lots as Christmas… Read more

Just felt that I had to present a different point of view.
Great glasses – I own two sets of the 350ml glasses that I purchased around 4-5 years ago. A year ago I purchased two more sets, this time the 450ml glasses. I have found the glasses to be excellent, they look amazing and we have had zero issues. I regularly wash them in a high heat dishwasher cycle. We use them daily with boiling water when making coffee in… Read more
the morning, they work just as well with ice cold drinks. No problems with shattering due to temperature variations.
I have only ever had one glass break after a fall. I haven't noticed them being any more fragile than our regular cheap glasses we purchased from Ikea. They are definitely much sturdier than our Waterford Crystal Champagne and Wine glasses.
I don't know what a lot of the other reviews are complaining about, obviously try not to play extreme sports with these glasses. They are definitely not as fragile as some people are making them out to be. I recommend going to a store, and have a look at some of them in person before you buy if you are still unsure.
Negative reviews
Not worth it – These glasses look great but I’m sorry to say they do not last- they break very easily. I had 2 sets and they all broke. I only buy the plastic ones now. Show details
Arrived cracked. No bubblewrap used – I ordered some from their official online store. Sent the boxes without bubblewrap or other fill. Obviously this is a business who can't be bothered to provide reasonable service. Avoid. Also all the glasses have a large, unsightly hole at the bottom that looks to be messily plugged with a rubber insert. Not worth the hype. Show details
Some problems – Some of our cups got cloudy inside and we can’t clean them out kind of wrecks the whole aesthetic. I wouldn’t buy them again from this company. Hopefully they have solved this problem Show details

Bodum - French Press ‘Good or Bad’ – I have been using the Bodum French Press for as long as I can remember. I always have 1-2 Spare Glass Sleeves, just in case. I read a beautiful Coffee Table Book - with conversations with Barista’s. Stunning photographs & how to make the different Coffees (work of art). extracts the Oils etc from the Coffee & not having a Bitter Taste. . I have an assortment of different electric Coffee Machines (Pod & Ground Coffee) & the Lebanese small jug type container. THE WINNER after all the different ways of making Coffee & Tested by Barista’s is the ‘Humble French Press’. I’m glad I don’t own a $3,000 Coffee Machine (home use). I am a Coffee Nut & get very frustrated when 99% of Cafes, Restaurants etc cannot make a decent cup of Coffee. Barista’s they are not !!!!
Great but super fragile – These glasses are the best for keeping hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold..however they break even with me trying to wash dishes with absolute care. I’ve owned 4 sets of these glasses (1 pair at a time), the first time I assumed it was due to my negligence; I tried another 3 times and realised it is the glasses themselves! It’s a shame… Read more
because I’ve purchased other double walled glasses and these are the best at keeping my coffee really hot.
Lesson learnt : (
Use with care – I've used these for four years. They're very good BUT super fragile. Okay in dishwashers but hairline cracks on rim after microwaving. Use and wash with care, and DON'T microwave. Show details
Shattered after x1 use – They look lovely and keep the coffee warm and cold drinks cold but they are super fragile. I hardly knocked it and it shattered. Tiny glass shards everywhere. Unfortunately can not recommend due to safety aspect.

Used twice and then broke while stirring coffee – Purchased June 23rd and then broke while stirring coffee June 29th. Fortunately no glass ingested and hoping that Bodum will replace and this was just a faulty glass. I do like the glasses and have had Bodum before that lasted much longer.

They look and functon well... until they break – I loved my Bodum glass that game as part of their Tea for One product. But then I knocked the glass with my phone charger cable, very lightly. The glass cracked as if it had been hit and a piece of the outside broke away. No glass should be this fragile. The glass is about 2 weeks old and given the reviews here will not be replaced as it appears to be a flaw.
Dangerous & fragile – My husband had finished drinking a cold drink which contained ice cubes out of the one month old Bodum Pavina glass. in the bottom? A large hole, with broken glass floating around in liquid in the side walls. We couldn't believe it, and just hoped that all of the broken glass was between the walls and not in his stomach. Now that we have searched… Read more
the product reviews, we find this is a common enough problem, and yet the same product is readily available. Would strongly recommend avoid as this is dangerous.

Functional, not elegant. Then they break – Bodum Canteen dual wall glasses: One developed a crack in the dishwasher after first use. The glasses, when in use, feel a bit clumsy, with their fat rim... it takes some getting used to. They don’t ‘sweat’ and leave puddles, which is probably the main up-side to them. I’ve had 2 more break recently with minor impacts- they’re about as tough as a light globe... I wouldn’t recommend them.
Terrible glasses that break and are dangerous – We have had these glasses for just over 6 months. My husband was making a drink in one and the inner wall simply broke and the liquid filled the cavity between the two walls. Bodum wouldn't believe me it just broke, they said he must have hit it with a spoon or something. Worst customer service experience. Dangerous glasses, so thankful he realised it had shattered before taking a drink. Will be buying similiar glasses from another brand.
Neutral temperature – Got the Bodum Pavina Double-Walled Glass Set 350ml 6 pieces. Lots of great reviews on retailers sites, so thought I'd try. They do what they say they do, no condensation, cool to touch with hot liquids, dishwasher safe. They are very light & do feel fragile, but no breakage so far. A bit wide.
Fragile – Yes, really, it is very dangerous, a single touch with another glass while washing them, and they broke the same day that I bought them, then somebody gave to me a new ones, and in the first use another one broke, never again I want to buy them Nor recommend them.
This product needs warning!!! – Just purchased 8 Pavina glasses. Made a gin and tonic with ice and noticed liquid running from the bottom of my glass. Quickly poured into a larger glass. Looked at the bottom and there was a 1/4" hole at the bottom. On a second glass I noticed a crack near the top where you put your mouth. If these items are so fragile they should warn you before… Read more

Exploded - Extremely dangerous – I have been using glass coffee cups for a couple of years now and absolutely loved Bodum ones until this morning. I had been drinking the coffee from the glass and it was still 3/4's full and put it down on bench and walked away to do something. The glass exploded into thousands of pieces - just made a pop noise then exploded. Thankfully it… Read more
wasn't 10 seconds earlier when I was drinking from it, however my son was about 2 feet away and got shards of glass in his leg/s and so did my dog. I've never experienced anything like it. If it had been seconds earlier, I would have had shards of glass in my face and worse (something I don't wish to think what could have happened). I had 2 x packs of 2 of these, the other 3 are now in the bin along with the completely shattered one. (The amount of pieces it shattered into was unbelievable) so much force that my bench had pieces of glass embedded into it.
Cracks too easily – I wonder if the quality has deteriorated over the years, as the pair I purchased 5yrs back are still intact, but the more recent purchases cracked in a matter of months. the earlier pair was purchased in Singapore and the latest ones from Dubai. In any case, I won't be replacing the cracked glasses, for the price, one would expect a far more durable product.
Bodum's Prima Donna of Glass – I am a barista with a reasonably serious espresso machine and grinder at home. All home coffees are served in Bodum Verres glasses - 250ml or 80ml. The glasses look great and readily reveal the quality of my pour. All glasses are preheated from the machine's boiler. In 4 years no glass has reacted to heat. The inside bottom of the glass is rounded… Read more
assisting the flow of the shot and milk pour. The double walls enable handling of the glass without fear of burning hands.
Bodum glasses are like an operatic prima donna - to keep them performing you must to look after them. They can be a little fragile. I've broken 4 from hitting the glass against something metal like the coffee machine's group head - that's one a year. They are an ideal coffee glass but don't expect them to survive what a ceramic mug could endure. And remember, a prima donna is always paid more than a member of the chorus.
Good product overall but can be dangerous – Agreeing with Glamma. Just had a similar experience. Without any sound or any indication, my glass were broken while we're having tea. As I picked up the glass, I did wonder why there were water bubbles inside the wall and horrified to see the inner bottom of glass has a hole, all this whilst drinking our everyday tea. Seriously paranoid now when drinking tea/coffee, had to look twice at the glass.
Warning- dangerous product – I bought a set of two glasses. The first one exploded when filling with a coffee shot. Luckily, with the second one I for some reason stirred the hot milk and found that a hole had appeared in the bottom. If my husband had just consumed it as normal he would have had a throat full of glass shards from the hole in the bottom.
Good but one piece has internal condensation – We recently purchased a set of 8 Bodum Pavina 250ml glasses. We put them through our dishwasher's 45 deg. cycle as an initial wash. One came out with obvious internal condensation between the glass walls, which doesn't seem to resolve with warming (e.g. on top of the coffee machine). Otherwise the product has been completely satisfactory. We're… Read more
aware of the valve on the base of the glass. Are there any suggestions as as to whether this problem can be resolved, and if so, how?
My favourite glasses – I bought 6 of the 350 ml glasses nearly 2 years ago and can't fault them. We use them daily for either hot or cold drinks, everything from coffee and tea to wine. In summer they are excellent to use with cool drinks. I love these glasses and often buy them as gifts.
Nice glasses - But – I love the look and the insulation your Pavina glasses give to my drinks BUT- my husband mixed a powdered drink in one of the glasses and then found a piece of glass in his mouth when drinking it. The inner lining had shattered, how lucky that he did not swallow any glass. I guess I shall be extra precautious when using them in the future.
Great product – These keep your coffee hot while not feeling hot to touch at all. An elegant and satisfying way to serve hot coffee plus the coffee looks great in it too
Too fragile - not fit for purpose – After 2 hours from purchase my wife went to wash a glass in the sink, and knocked it against a steel pot in the water- it broke too easily and she was lucky not to incur a serious cut! There is nothing to indicate any safety precustipns on the packaging and we assumed they are made of toughened glass that is able to take small knocks!

Fragile – I Love the Pavina glasses, but unfortunately I have found them quite fragile. Of 8 glasses I only have 3 left - I only ever hand wash them but have found glass cracks very easily. For what they cost I dont think I'll be buying replacments any time soon. :( Modern, practical & look great Expensive, fragile
too fragile – After 4 days of satisfactory performance I made a hot coffee into the 350 glass and the internal bottom broke into many pieces.I made the coffee in the same ways as the preceding three days, making an espresso and topping it up with hot water for a long black My wife heard the crack from 12 feet away. Very disappointing. it kept the drink hot longer and outside of glass made it comfortable to hold the glass it broke upon normal use
Love these! – These mugs/glasses are very stylish. I bought the 350ml ones to go with my new Nespresso machine. Unfortunately they don't fit perfectly but you can make it work if you hold them under. They can have a boiling hot beverage in them and the outside will only feel slightly warm. They also look impressive if you serve herbal/green tea in them too. Would also be good to use them for chilled beverages. Stylish, easy to hold
